When this recipe says to keep mixing, please keep mixing! Melting the sugar into the butter can be challenging, and so can adding the mixture to the egg yolks. Take it as slow as you need, but turn the heat down on the butter a little to keep it from burning if you’re going to take a while!

How do you make a comics. I want to make a comics. But I don't know what to do.

Well, there are many ways to make comics u know!

first, you need to have a clear idea about why you wanna tell in that comic.

which is your concept? What kind of feelings do you want to represent with your characters? what’s going to happen between them? like, there are many questions that you need to answer for yourself first.

There are many types of comics, formats to be specific, I like the format of the picture book, others use the usual -comic pages- with frames, etc. I like the picture book style because in my case, I just need one pict to make a whole situation and there’s no need to make a lot of frames for it, sometimes it’s necessary but for me, I work better in that way! also, that helps to not get the spectator confused to move their eyes to every frame, just one pict can be enough! and that’s how -picture book- style is for.

You need to make a script!!!! Highly recommended

In my situation, sometimes I don’t make scripts because when an idea pops out from my mind, I’m fast to doodle it and then I can structure it and clean it. But I also make scripts when the story needs it (that helps you to not forget about important things)

Skull bones are sturdier than hand bones, and even if you know what you’re doing there’s a high risk of damaging your metacarpals if you punch someone barehanded. It’s why they recommend if you find yourself in a fight unprepared to bunt their nose with the butt of your palm, because if the other person tucks their head and you end up hitting their forehead instead it’ll do a lot less damage to your palm than your knuckles.

also I’m a total amateur and once went to go practice how to do a very basic punch on a punching bag in the school gym and get out my aggression shh and I didn’t notice till one of my knuckles started bleeding that like…hand skin is very delicate or some such shit, I really wish I’d known this before I did that

The first time I saw this comic it made me very very angry.

Mostly because I was in such a bad place, I felt like the OP was just…. lying. If that makes sense.

LYING that it’s ok to keep going. That’s ok to not be the best but keep going anyway. That your art can be worthwhile. That “You are a good artist too”. And as such I really lashed out on this post (my reply is buried somewhere in the notes)

I don’t know if I’m in a better place with my art or not. Perhaps in some ways I’m in a worse place about my art right now. But at least now I’m looking at this post the way it was intended… as encouraging, and that it’s a message not to give up. Even when every 22 year old is posting fully animated shorts done in their student versions of Toonboom and creating things effortlessly.

I guess maybe now I’m just in a place where desperation has me clinging to ANY positivity I can find, even if it’s delusional. But I think at least that’s better than respond to encouragement with anger, just because it hurts too much to hear.

Believe me when I say it’s all a matter of perspective. The folks that look like they’re just easily pumping out these masterpieces, it’s far from easy and a lot of the time it’s settling rather than feeling perfect when posting something, always feeling like it could be so much better because there’s someone they see as even better than them, it’s a vicious cycle
