'The Winged Scourge' (1943)
this is even funnier when you know that “paris green” is a specific green pigment that contains arsenic (very distinctive shade of pale-ish green, common house paint color before yknow. all that research on how arsenic kills you). little birdies crop dusting the marsh with powdered arsenic<3

what
the absolute best gif the MLP fandom ever produced is this one
big fan of this one
this is a personal favorite
tips for enjoying fandom:
support creators = more content
pour into ppl you like
ignore shit you don't like
focus on what you do like and make more of that
understand fandom isn't inherently good or bad & you can't control it but you can control what you put into it
visual gags that are well made and smart
Maybe this is a bold statement and this wasn't even one of my favorite cartoons back then but there's honestly been very little television animation as alive and involved as Ed Edd and Eddie either before or since. John K's era of Ren & Stimpy still gets upheld by some of animation fandom as the most cartoonest cartoon ever cartooned but it's like stiff yogi bear tier animation when compared to any single minute of Eds.

finally a descriptor for whatever the fuck american animation studios have been doing for years
He summed up so much so well.
Minor character design pet peeve: when a designer finds the weirdest and most obscure beast that exists on this planet and airbrushes it into a vague Felix the cat rubberhose guy
Why Does Trump Hate Sesame Street?
Why is Trump so hell-bent on defunding PBS? It’s part of a larger plan — one where he can control not just what we do, but what we think.

#everyone including me is so obsessed with cartoons having plots and character arcs that we’ve forgotten animation’s roots: #what if some animal guy was a huge cunt
I’ve been meaning to get into the Duckverse comics, particularly Paperinik, because A, I love the classic Disney art styles and especially the revamped Italian Gyro Gearloose, and B, this is the closest I’m going to get to more Darkwing Duck content
Well I decided to start with some featuring Gyro and I found the Mad Ducktor comics
Gyro is my favorite normally but now it turns out that his ooh spooky “darker version” (a la the DW episode Negaduck) is… a raging anti-capitalist with black lip gloss and violet hair whose only goals are to ensure Gyro gets fairly compensated by Scrooge and to eat muffins
I lOvE this dude ?????

easy enough meme for me to make while it's still semi-relevant
Does anyone know where to find a list of Barks comics Gladstone has appeared in? I feel like I’ve read a few of the big ones, but I know I’m missing some, and I wanted to look over the art evolution of Gladstone specifically. Problem is it takes quite a while to sift through every comic to see if he’s in there somewhere
Remind me to check the stories I have because I said I would
You would be my hero ✨️✨️✨️ returning after all this time lol
Anyone reposting that OpenAI Studio Ghibli shit - even to dunk on it - should be killed with hammers.
“I loved Princess Mononoke and its environmental messaging. Can’t wait to grow up and become an AI prompt artist!”
Hammers. A billion of them.
Hayao Miyazaki is famous for being shown AI monster crawling along the floor and saying the following:
“Every morning, not in recent days, I see my friend who has a disability, it’s so hard for him just to do a high five; his arm with stiff muscle can’t reach out to my hand. Now, thinking of him, I can’t watch this stuff and find it interested. Whoever creates this stuff has no idea what pain is.
I am utterly disgusted. If you really want to make creepy stuff, you can go ahead and do it, but I would never wish to incorporate this technology into my work at all. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.”
