People don't get that non passing trans women are not seen as men, they are seen as non passing trans women and are treated the way they are according to the social script for trans women, which is transmisogyny.
This is something I think a lot of TME folks don’t get. The options for a trans woman are 1) Pass as a man and deal with the gender dysphoria. 2) Pass as a woman and deal with misogyny. 3) Get clocked and become a monster.
I know trans men have a similar struggle, but their 2 is pure win condition. Meanwhile, their 3 is being perceived as a non-conforming woman and facing all the misogyny that entails. Which isn’t nothing, but at the same time, that’s the best-case scenario for a lot of women, trans and cis.
any girls feeling bad after reading that shitass ableist essay (please also remember it's not a published article it's just a bigoted personal essay) please remember that you are worth endless love, care, compassion, and not a single minute has ever been wasted on taking care of you and keeping you alive. you are always worth the time, energy, effort, and money it takes to keep you alive. please keep going. i love you 🫂
God I wish literally anyone in my life agreed.
adulthood notes:
The Rodeo Rule: you only have to do it for the first time once.
The Rohan Rule: if you are at a social function full of new people and you want to be liked, find someone doing important work like setup or food prep and offer to help.
The Tutorial Mode Rule: to navigate an unfamiliar situation where you fear you will mess up an interaction, preface the interaction by mentioning that you've never done this before, and let them know if you have a specific concern or question.
The Rocket Science Rule: most new things you want to try seem very complicated but are simple when taken step by step.
The [X] Will Remember That Rule: if you need to make small talk with the same person on a regular basis, try to save one fact or current event in their life from a given conversation and bring it up next time you talk.
The Cool Binder Rule: by wearing clothes and accessories that are to your taste instead of trying to blend in, people will be more likely to compliment you and show interest in you as a person.
You could name the Cool Binder rule the Purple Glasses rule considering how many compliments I’ve gotten on them. Not just more than anything else I’ve worn — more than everything else I’ve worn.

To my 25 - 35 year olds, you've reached the age where people around you are starting to give up on themselves because they think it's too late. Don't let that energy rub off on you. It's not too late.
I became a tattoo artist at 49.
Married the love of my life at 50.
Got my Class A CDL at 59.
You've got time.
As long as you're breathing, you've got time.
41 and just got my Class B learner’s permit!
What unique combination of neuron firings makes someone respond to “trans women are women and trans men are men” with “okay, transphobe”? Like, what is the chain of logic here?
is your child picky or do you just suck at cooking
The former. My kiddos will eat something I make, say they love it and it’s the best thing ever, then refuse to touch it the next time make it because it’s yucky.
But you know what? It’s fine. It’s a natural part of developing. And I’m sorry your parents didn’t get that and shamed you for it.
20 months HIT! Image Update <3
Well that’s uncanny. You look exactly like my ex-girlfriend. You don’t have an older transphobic sister, do you?
Not that I know of
Just one of those faces, I guess. Either way, you’re still really cute.

didn't find a name yet but I really like her <3
Happy Father’s Day to all my fellow trans dads! Whatever your pronouns, whatever your identity, you are valid, and you’re doing a good job.
women at leaat a decade older than me I'm giving you a tight hug and I'll bring you drinks and snacks and food today ok? please take a break, I'm sure you need it, let us younger girls take care of you ok? I love u <3
Love you too, sweetheart.
I was telling a dude about a TTRPG project I'm working on where you play as wizards whose magic is incapable of harming living beings, so you must find non-violent methods of solving violent situations, and his immediate response was, "You're alienating too many players! The game should be about finding loopholes in the magic rules so you CAN kill people!"
I don't think I've ever had such a visceral reaction to a single sentence.
You would not believe the arguments I’ve had about people not getting why they were bound by the Laws of Magic in the Dresden Files RPG.
The way some of you talk it makes it so clear that you think trans women are men and trans men are women.
I’m sure this is real oppression of “anyone born with a vagina” and not just you getting mad at a trans woman for calling you out on misogyny so you need to bring up sex based oppression.
Trans women love using their agab to give them power over cis women. Obviously leveraging their agab will give them higher social standing, because trans women are treated so much better than cis women.
Stop pushing sex based oppression like it's a real thing, it's not. Trans women are fundamentally women and are treated as such.
"When trans women come in they start to act like they run the place" how much you wanna bet this is like that study where women are perceived as dominating conversations while actually doing 10% of the talking
Just argued with another fucking trans woman who insisted that study is proof that we’re talking over trans men.
I apologized for thinking she was a terf at first glance, but Jesus Christ sis, what the fuck?
Harrowing Retail Transition
If it’s not too personal, how long did phase two take you? I’m in it myself, and I’m wondering how long this tunnel is going to be before I see the light.
I will continue posting in favour of there being fewer people like that
god my heart is fucking breaking for all these people THERE IS STILL TIME DO YOU HEAR ME
IT ISN'T TOO LATE AS LONG AS YOU'RE ALIVE
hi everybody i started HRT at 35 so like don't even despair
being in ur twenties makes u feel like 30 is a brick wall u either fly over or crash into but i promise u it's a door and it opens up into the rest of ur life like getting past the prologue of an open world game
very important addition from @thatsladyfaggottoyou ty <3
I started HRT at approximately 30 and top surgery at 32 just 4.5 months prior to this photo. It's never too late.
I started at 40. I wish I’d started twenty years ago, but so, so much better late than never.
