ask about the food around the con: do you know any place around the con or markham that does well with restrictive/unique dietary needs? I’m going with a family member who has a hard time eating out
With regard to restrictions, it's hard to say without knowing exactly what sort of requirements your family member has. In my experience Swiss Chalet has been really good with accommodating allergens. It's a chain family restaurant and a Canadian staple, and has a pretty wide range of options. There's one nearby the con, and I think it'd be worth looking into! The food quality itself varies pretty vastly from location to location, but that one looks like it has pretty good reviews!
Boston Pizza, another Canadian institution named after somewhere else, and is a similar vibe. It has a the same reputation for being allergen friendly, and has an entire dedicated gluten free menu as well. There's one in Markham that might be worth checking out!
