They were surprised A said yes. 

A had told them about dabbling with switching a long time ago, when they first got into the scene. It wasn't for them. It'd been an awkward experience, one that didn't suit their tastes. 

But A and B were different. Things were… different. 

B's hands trembled as they made the final loops around A's wrists. A looked up at B and gave a reassuring smile. It was clear B was nervous. 

"Never thought you'd want to try this.." B tested the knots that bound A's wrists to the bed frame. 

"I'm willing to try most things with you, B. Well, except murder. Or bungee jumping." 

"In that order?" 

"Sure!" 

B tittered and anxiously fiddled with the ropes around A's ankles. Their hand slid to A's foot and gave it a little squeeze.

"Thank you for doing this. I know it's weird…" 

"B. This is the least weird thing we've ever fucking done." 

It was true. But this felt so different for B. And not just due to being dominant. That was unfamiliar, thrilling territory for sure. It made their heart race to look down on A, rather than looking up as they usually did. There was something almost wrong seeing A tied up, their arms and legs spread-eagled over the bed. 

And then there was the fet. A secret B had kept to themself for so long they thought it would die with them. A secret that stumbled and tumbled out of their mouth one frantic evening, when both were drunk and swapping secrets. A had looked surprised. Not disgusted like B had always thought A would look. Just surprised, and lightly amused. 

"Out of all the things in the world…" 

A grinned slyly then, the gears working in their head while B blushed and tried to disappear into the wallpaper. Even now, while technically having the upper hand on A, B still felt their cheeks go all splotchy.

"So, what do we do now?" A purred. Even tied, A still kept an impenetrable control over the scene. They might as well have had  B, splayed between their legs. Which was usually how these things went, and usually where B was more than happy to be. 

But not this time. 

"Well, um." B cleared their throat. "You have a sniff of this and, um, there you go." 

"I sneeze? And that's… it?" 

Just hearing A say that word made B want to crawl into a ball and die. But they straightened their back and took a rousing breath. They were in control this time. Boldly, they straddled A's lap. 

"Perhaps you need more of a challenge than? Make things interesting." 

A's eyes lit up as B reached for a book off the nightstand. B held the well-loved copy of The Count of Monte Cristo hand. 

"If you can get to the end of three pages without sneezing, I'll give you a reward." 

"Mm. And what might that be?" 

B shifted their hips, and A breathed deeply at the sudden friction between them. 

"And if I can't go without?" 

"Oh, I'll reward you anyway. But it'll be slow, and take way longer than you'd like. And you'll wash the dishes." 

A frowned at the last bit. Punishment indeed. 

"What do you think, you up for it?" B set the book on A's chest, while they unscrewed the bottle of chhinkni. 

"More than up for it. This'll be easy." A moved their hips under B, just enough to draw a whimper from their throat.

"Quit that.." B leaned forward, onto their knees, trying to escape the wonderful grind of A's body against their own. A flush of indignation came over B. Even now, A was still dominating. They were this unmovable wall, no matter what. They could control anything. 

But maybe not everything. 

"Now breathe this in." 

B lowered the open bottle of chhinkni to A's nose, letting the aromatic scent waft under each nostril. A sniffed tentatively, as if testing the aroma of a fine wine. B let the bottle linger enough until A's chest bubbled with an unexpected cough. 

"Oh- wow, you weren't kidding- that stuff is strong." They scrunched their nose up and turned their head away slightly, overcome with the vapor. Satisfied, B put a cap back on the bottle and set it to the side. 

"Warned you. Now, read this for me—oh wait, you have a little something here." A residue of chhinkni coated the rim of A's right nostril, which B brushed away with the pad of their finger. They let their touch linger for just a bit. It wasn't often they got to touch A in this way. It was an intimate gesture. There was something A couldn't reach that only B could help with. They felt the soft flesh of the rim flutter under their touch.

A thrill of excitement shot down B's spine. 

They opened the book and let it lean against their stomach. 

"On the 24th of February, 1815, the look-out at Notre-Dame de la Garde signalled the three-master, the Pharaon from Smyrna, Trieste, and Naples."  A looked up from the page, smirking at B before turning to the prose. They breathed in through their nose, eyes squinting at the letters. 

"Too far away?" B asked. 

"'Just fine." A sniffed and twinged their nose to the side. "As usual, a pilot put off immediately, and rounding the Château d’If, got on board the vessel between Cape Morgiou and Rion island" 

B watched carefully. 

A's nose had never been expressive. It was controlled, like the rest of their personality, but B had learned to notice the subtlety of its mood. When irritated, the sides grew fuller, more pronounced. A blush would collect at the center of A's face, as if their very body tried to quarantine sensation to a singular point. 

B saw it happening now. 

"—which prevailed among the spectators had so much affected one of the crowd that he did not await the arrival of the vessel in harbor—snfff—excuse me—"

"What's wrong? You're sounding a little congested." B tried not to sound so eager. 

A glowered up at B, their eyelashes damp. They screwed up their nose again, and an involuntary jerk of their arm gave away the need for a scratch. 

"Come on now, you have so much left to read. I'm sure you can manage." B smiled, and gently twiddled their fingers against the taut length of muscle under A's arms. A jumped at the tickle, and for a moment their control slipped. They scowled at B and stubbornly returned to the task at hand.

"The owner did not wait for a second invitation. He seized a rope—snnffff—snff— which Dadtès flug to hib—snfff"

B's stomach flip-flopped at the congested tone of A's voice. It was so rare to hear them stuffy, to see them take sips of air through their mouth instead of their flushed nose. The rhythmic rise and fall of A's chest grew trembly, and B could feel their belly tighten with every sniffle. 

" And with an activity that would have done credit to a sailor, climbed up—Heeeh.."

A's eyebrows tented up, and they snapped their quivering lips closed, holding a breath. Their nostrils clicked wide twice before they let the breath go with a careful "phew." 

A looked up at B under their hooded eyelids, and sniffled liquidly. 

"Not goig'-snff-down that easily." They winked. 

"Keep reading." B could barely find the words. 

A licked their lips and continued, sniffling and stuttering through the rest of the page. By the time B turned the first page over, A's eyes watered with a need for release. B reached out and gingerly wiped a tear off A's cheek.

"Asked 'be questions—snfff— about the vessel, the—the—Hihgg—" A sucked in a gasp of air, eyes loose and crossing before they wrenched their body back in control "—hhhh—Timed' she left MarsieehhhHHH—" 

"Marseilles. Come on now. Say with me." B's mouth went dry as they watched A come undone. Boldly, teasingly, they fanned the paperback in front of A's flaring nose, "Don't let it get away from you…" 

A's chest rose and fell sharply, their body tight between B's legs. 

"Mb-MBarsiehh—Hiipt—heeeh…Mars-HHHPHPBHTZNK!!" 

The sneeze sputtered in a painfully contained stifle, a string of drool dribbled from A's reddened lips as they exhaled with a moan. 

B was nearly undone then and there. Breath shaky, B bent forward and pressed a soft kiss to A's wet mouth, tasting the sneeze that still hovered on the tongue. 

At the back of B's mind, they were relieved. It would be nice not do the dishes tonight.

fuuuuuuck this is a sneezy cold. Normally I just get congested, but there is this fucking tickle in my sinuses that just won’t go away. If I want to sneeze, it goes away and if I try to go back to bed, as soon as I close my eyes the sneeze finally comes unstuck. I’ve induced myself like five times trying to get rid of this tickle and all that’s happened is made me horny
