and now we even have people replying to pictures of baby yoda with “i want this on a tshirt” knowing how ravenous disney is being with copyright in hopes to get the stores taken down altogether

i dont know what it is about stuff like this and the whole turn mei into a symbol of hk protesters thing but, its really reassuring for some reason

Here’s the thing about Halloween: all year long if you live in America you’re under a steady assault by this right-wing traditional faux-wholesome pseudo-Christian nuclear patriot family atmosphere, and then all the sudden as the weather cools and the days shorten the country loses its marbles decking everything out in bloody corpses, demon faces, witchcraft and giant rubber bugs. Half the country thinks they’re the Addams Family for 1-3 months while a small chunk of weiners get angry that it’s “pagan” or something.

I don’t know if anyone in any other cultural environment can really understand how that feels. It’s the antithesis of the “love jesus and eagles or GIT OUT” under(over)tone American culture is usually about.

And even though it generates billions of dollars, there’s no pressure, shaming or guilting to spend money on it like there is for certain other holidays. We spend that much on Halloween just because it’s fun and we want to, rather than some unspoken (usually unspoken) rule that you must buy extravagant gifts or you’re a heathen scrooge and you don’t love your family.

worst part of the mario movie is gonna be right before the third act when they arbitrarily have mario and luigi fall out and luigis gonna say "thats not very super of you, mario" and walk away into the rain and mario is gonna be like "luigi wait" and then toad is gonna shake his head sadly and follow luigi and yoshi is gonna be the only one still there and mario is gonna be like "can you believe those guys" and yoshi will just look at him like 😕 and mario will be like "yeah... yeah youre right" then its gonna hard cut to like, a tonally completely opposite scene of bowser freaking out about an aspect of his plan that is experiencing delays because somebody accidentally stomped on the goomba who was in charge of it and that will be the only actual reference to the way mario works except for jokes about mushrooms and fire flowers until the finale when mario starts swinging bowser by the tail in the final fight and then luigi grabs on and starts helping too and they both nod with the dreamworks face

Long Eared Bat, huge ears and an adorable face!

Mexican Free Tailed Bat, named for the fact that their uropatagium (back leg membrane) doesn’t cover their tail, leaving them with a teeny mouse-like tail.

Gould’s Wattled Bat, they got some pearly white sharp teeth, but they tell great jokes and always laugh at yours too.

“HAHAHAHAHA!”

Hoary Bat, AKA the bat that looks like they’re covered in powdered sugar.

Bulldog Bat, a bulldog… with wings <3

Vampire Bat, often seen as creepy, but they’re actually really cute. Also fun fact, vampire bats live in a social structure where able-bodied bats go out and feed and then share part of their meal with old/weak/sick members who cannot forage themselves. No survival of the fittest here, every bat helps every bat out <3

And lastly, the Painted Bat, and yes, those are its actual colors. Can’t get any more Halloween than that <3

A personal favorite of mine: Honduran White Fruit Bat, also known as ‘Marshmallow Bats’! These tiny cuties make tents by nibbling on the leaves until they fold down, and they snuggle close underneath it!
