Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.

The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.

Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).
A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).

yes, all criminals. the moment you say “except X criminal” is the moment that people will try to convict their opponents as having committed X crime.
it’s the same thing as what’s going on right now with people equating drag to some sort of child exploitation. “but the children!!” they wail, and people listen because oh, if drag is harming children, then drag MUST be BAD, so we HAVE TO BAN DRAG.
do you understand what i’m saying? you can’t take away the rights of any category of criminal, because suddenly that category will be overflowing with people who totally 100% definitely committed that horrible crime.
Just to look at this from one step further back, let's accept the premise. Let's imagine that there is a type of crime that is 1) horrible evil irredeemable universally-agreed-upon bad, and 2) could somehow be prosecuted with 100% accuracy and 0% bias. Yes, even then, those criminals deserve a right to vote.
Do you they're going to like vote themselves out of jail? Vote to make murder legal? What exactly are you afraid of.
Realistically they'll just... vote just like anyone else. They'll help elect city councilmembers they think will better their hometowns, and presidents they think will best serve the country. They might even vote in their own interests! To reform prisons, fund rehabilitation programs, and outlaw predatory practices by telecoms. Are you saying you don't want any of those things?
And even if there were one of those super-duper-unambiguously-evil totally misanthropic death-row convicts, who's scheduled to be execute the very next day and just wants to sow chaos and watch the outside world burn however they can... what's the worst they could do, vote republican?
Taking people's rights away isn't bad because it might happen to someone you like, it's because taking people's rights away is bad.

I'm not gonna lie and say I don't think the world is better of without certain people or that certain people deserve to die, cause I DO think that! STRONGLY! I also frankly don't think rapists should vote! But you can't ignore both
1) the context of which things would be implemented
and
2) your own falability
When you implemented something that takes away someone's rights/ harms them, you need to acknowledge that that will be used to silence decanting opinions.
we've seen it done time an time again, black and queer people have been accused of assault and rape and murder, all because society at large is very biased and KNOWS that by acusing those demographics of those crimes they'll be borderline tortured! We do not live in a society where such rules could be inplimented in good faith with a 100% honest and true rueling. You'd have people falsley accused and punished just because someone didn't like the look in their God damn eye!
Not only thus but no human is infallible
You can assume your 100% objectively moraly correct. There will always been someone that has more context, less emotinal investment, and a better opinion out there somewhere if we make such drastic decisions based on a want to punish certain people rather than work towards reform for all then where do we draw the line? Which crimes do we apply these punishments to? How severe does the offence have to be to warrant this punishment? How old the offenders? How sure of the conviction? No one is infallible so even in a 100% just and unbiased world there are still reasons this things can't and shouldn't be implimented
i just caught her “playing pretend” with her hot wheels and simulating high speed car crashes. not only is this disrespectful to people who have died or been injured in a car crash, but it also likely indicates that she will go on to intentionally cause car crashes in the future. please everyone reach out to her friends, extended family, and possible future employers to let them know she’s an irredeemable monster and is contributing to real world harm!

A comic/graphic novel that follows a young creative as they try to 'kill their darlings'/ let go of old characters and habbits that are seen as unsettling marketable.
We watch them as each peice killed slowly destroys them, each character lost seems to dim the light in their eyes until all that is left I their oldest creating on the floor sniffling going on about how
'I just want3d to have fun'
'I thought you where ment to protect us'
'This isn't fun anymore'
'Why where we good enough'
And it's revealed that they put so much of themselves into their characters that with each one destroyed they destroyed themselves until only the first the oldest the inner child was left and they don't want to play with the creator anymore
Taking a long shot and posting this since I haven't seen anyone talk about it. Which is weird...
A Russian-developed game, "Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes" is planned to release on Steam on the 24th of March. A "real-time strategy game" portraying the 2022 Russian invasion in Ukraine as heroic and "brilliant".
It is beyond sickening to make a game glorifying war crimes that are still happening today, despite that everyone seems to have forgotten about them. I urge everyone reading this to report the game on Steam as "Defamatory" or "Legal Violation" (Suggested reasons: Hate speech and discrimination against Ukrainians, fascist Russian propaganda, manipulation of historical facts), and at the very least reblog this post to reach more people
The US is detransitioning prisoners and just announced that ICE can detain trans people on suspicion of visa fraud. The UK just banned all care for trans kids and is now conducting an "evidence review" into HRT for trans adults and now the biggest DIY HRT web resource just went down.
Trans people need to learn solidarity yesterday, we need to be ready to organise together and set aside anything that we need to in order to get our shit sorted out. Cis people need to take it seriously that the fascists are trying to completely extinguish transess from existence
