This isn't something I typically post, but I would like to say this to anyone who has given up the use of AI and is trying to stop their AI addictions. I am so proud of you for trying to overcome this. It is not easy, but you are still trying because you care about others' wellbeing and the planet as a whole, which is more than you can say about the people who often use this kind of technology. It just came out where I live that the power company we pay has been making the power and water bills skyrocket because of Google and AI, and they're making us pay for it, even if we ourselves don't use it. By you giving up using AI, that lowers its usage of electricity and clean drinking water. Even if it seems like just a little bit, that adds up and makes a difference. If you still use or support AI, please remember that you are affecting the lives of millions of people every day. It's not just the rich millionaires and billionaires, but us regular folk who struggle enough paying the bills and providing for our families, not to mention the amount of good water that is being used up that could go to people or animals or plants, or how it is stealing people's artistic talent, their personal information, their faces, their jobs, or even their homes. It also has gotten so advanced, that many people are being tricked by AI images and videos. Other people are having to pay for your damage that you cause when you use AI like Meta AI, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Character AI, etc. My household has started having to unplug/turn things off that we wouldn't do otherwise if it wasn't so expensive. Also, here's a little tip for anyone trying to save money on their bills if you find yourself in a similar situation as us. Power companies (or at least the one we pay) usually charge more during 3-8 PM than any other time, so if you turn off things in that time like the water heater, you can save a little bit more. Also, if you know anyone who uses AI, especially someone who is older and may not be informed on the harm that AI causes, please reach out to them so that they can understand the impact it actually has. Even something as small as that is a big help. Thank you.

fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.

if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.

hey so don't use this. RabbelLabs, the company actually creating this platform, trains AI models. Jack Dorsey is best friends with Elon Musk and they both advocate constantly for the abolition of IP law because it stands in the way of AI 'growth' (theft). They're banning AI on the platform so they can use it as a clean slate to train more fucking AI. They're also using images of Divine, the drag queen, to push their shit and I guarantee they didn't get permission from her estate.

Our baby knife as kids was Raptor Tag. Raptors hunt in packs so the person who was "it" had to run around pretending to be a velociraptor and to tag people they had to actually tackle them and "eat" them for 5 full seconds (others could come to the rescue and save them in that time, but risked getting eaten too or instead if the raptor switched targets). Eaten players then became raptors, until the whole pack was teamwork-hunting the last wily or lucky kid. There were no winning survivors- the game was won as a group once everyone was a raptor.

My kindergarten played "wolves" where a pack of 4-12 children, usually all the girls, would try to chase down and "kill" the deer (usually me)

I was bulled extensively in elementary school, but 1. Mostly by my teachers and 2. Not during this, because we ALL had PBS Nature and as Deer, I was allowed to gouge, kick, bite, keep running even after being grabbed, or body-check the larger children into the picnic tables and other architecture.

You know, for realism.
