I often think about an AU where Trista is allowed to exist. Both sisters being active in Evangeline's life, until her demise: Sharing her burdens. And getting equally traumatized

My personal headcanon is that Trista is taking more care of Evangeline as the oldest while Isolde spends more time performing on stage. It's the good old case of the oldest sibling sacrificing their life to take care of a sick relative I'm not projecting or anything

Because of this Trista develops resentment towards Isolde. She loves her little sister but also hates her for living her life so "free"

Both have obligations and are shackled by society standards and expectations but at least Isolde is allowed to sing while Trista is stuck being the heir to the family, dealing with engagements and suitors Karl lines up for her.

Of course Trista would try to kill Isolde here. At least throw something at her in rage: Isolde constantly talks about the aspiring doctor in the green hat she met while Trista has to deal with misogynistic noblemen who only see her as a babymaker. Their relationship souring but when their mother dies they make up because they only have each other Theophil is there too ofc but he distances himself from all the family drama
