Can we stop asking our fic writers who are making content FOR FREE to not write or write whatever you want?

How about you write it.

“I would love if there was less-“ Scrolling is free. And then, go write what you want.

This is your reminder that it’s free to contribute to fanfiction communities and archives. There will be lots of what you want to read if you write it! And other people who like what you like will get to enjoy your work, the way you have been benefiting off other writers with similar tastes.

Stop addressing writers like they’re your butlers. Write what you want. Read what you want. Ignore what you don’t. The amount of public complaining happening lately actually makes it harder for writers to participate in communities and reduces the amount of fic that grateful readers who do like those tropes could be reading.

Be nice to fic writers. Maybe, go put some requests in with someone who’s looking for them. Or perhaps this can motivate you to give writing a shot.
