Cloud - 22 - She/They - Half Australian Half Italian. I like D&D, Critical Role, Baldurs Gate 3, My Hero Academia, Monster Hunter World, Fire Emblem Fates, Five Nights At Freddy's: Secuirty Breach (Sun and Moon specifically), Young Justice, Cookie Run Kingdom, Transformers, and Monster Prom, to name a few. I post about whatever hyperfixation I currently have. I have fan ocs cause I'm cringe like that
Cluttering Fates' roster with more 2nd characters because I am unhinged
- Tatsuki, Hinoka's daughter. A sky knight like her mother. While she inherited her mother's hotblooded nature, she also carries Queen Mikoto's air of elegance making her more feminine than Hinoka
-Emilia, Camilla's daughter. A spoiled, but kindhearted fighter. As a result of Camilla coddling her, Emilia can be very demanding and spoiled, but she does mean well with the happiness of her loved ones being one of the things she's "greedy" about
-Haruna, Sakura's daughter. An outspoken confident miko. Haruno was always encouraged to be brave and to never be scared to speak for what matters to her. Despite what others think, her courage comes directly from her mother
-Rosalinde, Elise's daughter. A studious dark mage. She is very much not like her mother at all. Rosie prefers to be introverted and doesn't enjoy crowds or people. Despite this, she tries to follow Elise's example and show compassion to all. Only in more subtle ways
Since all the princes had more princes, I was pretty much strong-armed into giving the princesses more princesses, but I don't mind that
omg when I read this I just got OBSESSED with the idea so I'm finally posting some art after like a year of nothing! Please excuse the messy lineart, I'm trying to get back into art trhrthgdf
anyways super obsessed with them
edit: just realised I forgor the ādā in Rosalindeās name rip
hey uh new type of ao3 spam comment just dropped. (I know it's spam because the fic they left this comment on . doesn't have chapters. lmfao). Report this kinda comment as spam and don't take it personally it is literally recycled bullshit
Also y'all this really ties into how impactful comments are and why it's so encouraged to leave comments and leave NICE ones. If I hadn't known this was spam, and if I'd gotten this on my currently-updating fic, it would've crushed me and likely convinced me to never update again. Adversely, even one nice comment from someone is enough to motivate me to write and share more. If you read a fic you liked, tell the author that! If you're reading an unfinished fic, leave a comment to say you're excited for more, or comment throughout chapters even! It really is so easy and quick to do, and it's not only nice but it can also completely alter a writer's motivation and inspiration
Fanfic writers, please be aware that for some reason having bots spam fics with negative comments is a thing now. Not sure what anyone gets out of spreading misery, but just know it's not anything to do with your fic. I got one that was like, "This fic is a delight ... just kidding, it's unfunny and tedious." It was very clearly unrelated to the content of the fic but for someone else it might have been heartbreaking.
what i've heard about this sort of thing is that fics that have been deleted are harder to prove the provenance of, thus making them easier and safer for AI generators to scrape for their data sets
they're trying to encourage you to delete/orphan your fics so you can no longer prove that they're YOURS
Signal boost for all writers in my network. If the comment mentions no specific details about your fic, assume it's a bot post, delete it, and keep writing your great works. Also tell your friends about this and let's keep our space on AO3 as awesome as it is.
Apologies in advance but I have to get serious here for a minute about the subject of "being intimidated by fanfic authors." This is more con-oriented than Tumblr-oriented but the sentiments are applicable to both.
It makes me so upset whenever I think of all the times I went to a con and couldn't seem to find anyone to talk to. After being on a few panels where I made jokes about the joys of writing about dicks and butts, I would walk around, and it just seemed like folks were all doing their own thing, not inviting me to join them. I would always think, Oh, story checks out, everyone is put off because I'm a weird freak, it's just like in high school. Then I'd go back to my hotel room and wonder what I spent all this money for, coming here to be lonely.
Then, in the days after the con, I would see posts from other con-goers, or receive messages: "omg berlynn i was too shy to say hello at the con but i just want you to know that your fics mean everything to me and you're so amazing."
I really do appreciate those kind words, but...it would have been cool to actually hang out with you, you know?
One time I had the opportunity to chat with with a trio of folks who were the guests of honor at this con because they were screening their gorgeous and charming fan film, and they confessed to me that the day before, they had walked into a room, seen that I was there, and walked out because they were too intimidated at the very idea of being in the room with me. (So I sat alone and silent in that room for 20 more minutes.)
The thing is, even if I was the most popular fanfic writer in the history of the world, connecting with other fans and forming friendships is the only compensation I get. I don't eat better because you liked my fic. I don't get a swag bag worth $5,000 when I check into my hotel room at a con because I wrote that one omegaverse fic that everyone read. I do what I do and I write what I write because I want to be part of a community of fans.
But I should note that all is not loneliness and misery for Berlynn. I have had some of the greatest moments of my life making connections with people who actually did speak to me at cons. Sometimes it was just a hug and a few happy tears, sometimes it was deep philosophical discussions about writing dicks and butts while sitting on the floor of a party suite at two in the morning...but several of my IRL friends are people who were not afraid to just reach out to me after a panel, or say hello at the bar.
Here's how it might go when you connect with your favorite fanfic author: One of my closest friends is someone who was a big fan of my work, introduced to me by a mutual friend. Sitting across from me at a restaurant not too long after our introduction, this person had to point out to me that, whilst gesticulating exuberantly over my meal, I had gotten some macaroni and cheese on my sleeve. After that, they were not so starstruck anymore, and now we live in the same building, which makes it easy for us to hang out and giggle over old TV shows together a couple times a week.
Probably there are fanfic writers who don't want to be bothered, who don't want to be messaged, who aren't in it for the social connection...but they are not the ones following you on social media. They're not the ones with their inboxes open, anonymous messages on. And they're not the ones strolling through the common areas at cons looking for an empty seat at a table.
A celebration piece I made months ago after my fanfic Hybrid Hassle got 1,000 Hits! Hybrid Hassle - Chapter 1 - CloudyFruit - Five Nights at Freddy's [Archive of Our Own]
Sorry for the radio silence here on my end, I've been very sick and art has been rough to do, that's why I've picked up writing again, but now I've got carpal tunnel, so writing is tough too ;-;
A Nohrian thief, as well as Lord Leon's retainer. Though he may look like a calm man, his words tend to be suggestive towards both men and women. A known sadist. Spends a great deal of time admiring the night sky.
Starting on Zeroās birthday (04/22/24) we will be begin our week long celebration of Zero/Niles! Feel free to contribute in any way you like, from drabbles to fanart to headcanons! The theme for this year is loosely based on activities familiar to our dear little thief!

RE: Tumblr selling data to GenAI companies. (prev reblog.)
At this point I'm truly wondering what to do, really. (Glaze your art and so on, sure) But even the words we write, our personal thoughts, asks, everything is getting fed into these fucking machines from any site available. "Make your own page!" - Services like Squarespace, which are what I and most of my peers use, have sneakily added the option to allow third-party crawlers to harvest data. And portfolio websites are not social media. I want to interact and I have to reach clients.
Are we reaching the point where we have to post only previews and send finished art via Newsletters or post behind paywalls? Print it out and send a pigeon to our followers' homes?
I'm so fucking tired. So angry.
I've been an artist through life-threatening depression, through working and studying full time, through moving house and country, through the pandemic.
Especially the point about portfolio sites not being social media. I post to twitter because that's where my professional peers are. It's where you can get approached by potential clients or collaborators. I post to tumblr because it's where my fandom peers live, where I can facilitate a gallery with a semblance of an archival and tagging system, where I've posted my art for over a decade.
If I just wanted to post art with no interaction and no feedback, I could probably do that pretty easily. But that's not why I share my art online.
The continued hostility, commodification and devaluation of artists online is making a lot of us question why we even bother anymore. Platforms that were made successful on the backs of artists are all suddenly turning on their core userbase in order to turn a profit. Like, I get it, websites have to make money and if you don't pay for the product, you are the product, yadda yadda yadda. But I gotta assume there are ventures they could explore other than wholesale theft of their userbase's copyrighted content.
And they all handwave it away by pointing to the TOS as if anyone could've known that by signing a standard agreement to have your content hosted on the site sometime in like fucking 2010 for some of us, you'd be agreeing to having your data scraped by third parties years and years down the line. And I get that TOS can change, but tumblr has no way to effectively purge your content from the platform (that I know of), so it's not like you can do much about it if you've been posting here for a decade.
I left Da because of all the stupid shit they did. Never listening to their user base, using us. Completely spitting in our faces. I hoped tumblr would be better than them. I honestly don't know why I thought it'd be different. I've not been here for long, but the people on here are genuinely amazing, and I already lost friends when I jumped ships from DeviantArt. I actually prefer the community here than DeviantArt (yes even before Da did dumb fuck changes), and I really don't wanna lose this community too.
It's so hard to force myself to make art nowadays, and shit like this just drains my creativity and love for it.
They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.
I haven't drawn digitally since early January, so Camilla was my target for getting the rust off! Will any of these sketches be finished? Who the hell knows!
Anyhow this is my personal design for Camilla. She's one of my all time favourite characters in FeFates, but they did her dirty with the volume of fanservice they put her through. My girl is riding a wyvern with bare thighs and no chest support. I ache just thinking about it.
So I tried a more grounded design, I quite like it! I think she looks baddass >:D
We are so happy to present, Flower of Nohr: An Elise Zine. Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy our contributors' hard work. Please follow the link below to download the project.
That giant blue dragon is my oc, Irisidas, or Iris for short, a Manokete (yes I know itās spelt Manakete, this is a headcanon thing I have lol) from an island very, very far away. How she ended up in Hoshido is a story for another time, however sheās found herself enlisted in Corrins army to defeat Anankos and it seems her mysterious past has caught the attention of a distrustful ninja...
After realising she's being followed, she confronts her adversary, and things get messy from there.
Uh, hi. First post on tumblr, cause DA is a garbage heap lol. I like Fates, I like making ocs, I like dragons, and I like making headcanons, so yeah this was bound to happen heh. Iām definitely going to post more about her, and her relationship with not only Saizo, but a whole heap of other FE Fates characters! So if youāre interested, feel free to stick around
whoops was going to do some more doodles of different supports Iris has with canon characters but I've woken with a headache and art is not looking like it's on the table for me. I'm just gonna reblog this post? Is that how tumblr works? I'm still learning *wheeze*
Anyhow yeah, Iris and Saizos C support is basically them just beating the shit outta each-other LMAO
Was too busy yesterday so I instead put tragedy and joy together for one post today!
TW!!!! Blood below the cut!
(Also Fire Emblem Fates Revelations spoilers)
Tragedy:
A few years into being Anankos's personal gladiator, Iris's performance was beginning to grow stale. To spice things up, he threw Karieana, Iris's young daughter, into the arena for a few minutes before he sent in Iris. Karie lost her eye from the ordeal, and Iris became more violent during her future matches, hoping that she'd entertain him enough that he'd leave her family alone.
Joy:
Time flows differently in Valla. Because of the time Iris spent in Nohr and Hoshido, by the time she gets to Valla and frees her people, her children are roughly 16-17ish. When she last saw them, Karieana and Mikohai were about 10. It's a bit of a shook for her to see her babies nearly all grown up, but she's just grateful to have them back. The image above shows the tearful reunion between mother and children.
If it wasnāt for the fact that oct became suddenly so swamped for me with other art obligations I would def be doing oc week right now, I had plans for it and everything and thereās so much I wanna talk about for Celeste but alas I ran out of time
Iām def enjoying others content rn tho!!
Maybe weāll get āem next time if thereās another oc week
ugh been so busy today so I didn't have much time to draw anything so I'm just gonna throw the abridged, somewhat messy backstory I wrote down without any fun doodles
I have a bunch of headcanon stuff so it's a little different to canon so just bear with me
Spoiler warning for Fire Emblem Fates Revelations below
Iris was raised in one of the 12 Manokete clans that lived on the Isles of KahāRah; a far away tropical island. She grew up in the Mangrove clan with her twin sister Ossiedian, and the two aspired to grow up and become just like their mother, Kanresh, a Spire Guard.Ā
Spire Guards were the most revered and respected roles a Manokete could achieve. Spire Guards lived in the large jagged rock spires that jutted out of the sea that surrounded the islands. These Spire Guards would protect the Isles of KahāRah from humans. Some of the humans that came to their islands meant no harm, like sailors lost at sea, or merchants who got caught in a storm. Others had less than dubious motives. Hunters who craved the glory of bringing home the head of a Manokete, or perhaps hoped to butcher their bodies for magical ingredients for potions. Some of the very worst of them were slavers who would take and sell them to the highest bidder. Spire Guards were trained in combat for at least 100 years, and were taught how to speak common to communicate with ships that sailed too close to their waters.Ā
Iris and Ossiedian trained since they could walk, and when their mother passed on they took her place. They lived and worked as Spire Guards for nearly 400 years, until Iris decided that she wanted something more. She loved being a Spire Guard, but she longed to be a mother. She had courted many over the years, but none were meant to be, so she asked if one of the other Spire Guards, her good friend Tahron, would sire children for her. A few months into her pregnancy was when the Night Stalkers came.
Invisible soldiers pillaged their home, and dragged Manoketes into the sea. Despite her combat training, she was overpowered. As the water swirled around her, she found herself in a strange place, somewhere she had never been before, with a stranger she had never met.
Her people had been attacked as a test of power for the stranger.Ā
The Manoketes he had captured were merely a trophy for him, things to watch for entertainment. He hated all life, but held a particular hatred for Manoketes. He wanted them to suffer.
Iris was the only one who knew how to fight out of the captured Manoketes. The others were either elderly, young children, or adults that were too weak to defend themselves against the onslaught. Iris became the leader of the small group of Manoketes, and carried the burden of ensuring their survival, by any means necessary. The stranger wanted entertainment? Iris could play his game. In exchange for the safety of her newborn twins and her small group, Iris did whatever was asked of her.
She became a gladiator.
She managed to amuse him for 10 years.
Iris had noticed, as the years went on, the stranger was losing his sanity. His speech was erratic, the battles he wanted more bloody, more violent, more painful. It was only a matter of time before he snapped. She wasnāt sure why exactly he didnāt just kill her, perhaps he wanted to watch her suffer as she tried to find her way back to her family. He always watched. Just as she had been dragged from her home, she was dragged out of the strange place, back into water. However, when she emerged, she found she was not home. She wasnāt sure where she was. Wolven shapeshifters found her quickly, and took her to their clan leader, who offered the fellow shapeshifter shelter. When Iris tried to explain what exactly had happened to her, she found herself in unbearable pain. Her throat burned, her insides churned, and she felt herself nearly disappear, before she closed her mouth.
ā¦Why couldnāt she talk about what had happened?
She didnāt test her luck after that. After she regained her strength, she bid her hosts farewell, and travelled the lands in search for her family. She came across another shapeshifter clan, this time they had fox features. They welcomed her in just as the previous one, but just like the wolven clan, they couldnāt help her in her search.
It was a little over a year when she returned to the wolven clan, and found their population was nearly halved. The clan talked of invisible soldiers who dragged their people into the water, and disappeared along with them. The leader of the clan joined Iris in search of the invisible soldiers. They journey to the other shapeshifter clan, and just like the wolves, they had a similar story. The leader of that clan joined Iris and the wolven shapeshifter, and the trio began to investigate, hoping that together theyād be able to find and free their people.
