I had to spread my Aroace!Cale agenda this blessed month once more and I somehow miraculously managed to finish this piece while working on my finals (my diploma was pushed for later haha).

The quality of this animatic is insane - how I am seeing this for free is mind boggling to me and is the highest honor I can think of I have watched this like 50 times. I am a very offline person, and one day just decided to post some fanfic and the community response has been so amazing and people like you who are giving the world these wonderful creations are so special and ahhhhhhhhhhhh.
That's all, I am mush on the ground, the way you show emotion???? THE INTENSITY IN JACK'S FACE IN THE DECLARATION. HOW YOU CAN SEE HICCUP WORKING THROUGH HIS THOUGHTS SO CLEARLY??? a LOT of that scene is "internal" in the monologue, and the way you managed to take something with so many internal components that can't be said out loud and presented it visually is just astounding. It shows your talent, this whole video is flooding with your talent. You brought my work to life, I am speechless. So much love you are amazing!

Hookfang being so careful with everyone other than Snotlout is so important. He’s a beast of a dragon, he literally goes into fights blazing without a plan. He respects strength first.
Most humans are delicate little things that he has to handle with the kiddy gloves on. He’s cautious with the twins, gentle with Hiccup, respectful with Astrid, careful with Fishlegs.
Snotlout however is his viking and he’s a good one. Made of tougher stuff or whatever. He can handle a little roughhousing. He can handle Hookfang catching fire every once in a while, he can handle being scooped and thrown and shaken, he can handle a chomp or two. More than “handle” honestly, he likes it, because he’s the same genre of feral-for-action.
We know Snotlout does, but the fact Hookfang also sees them as equals (despite all their fighting) is very dear to me
I'm coming to realize how vital it is to keep a running list of shit you did in the past few weeks so that you can participate in small talk. It's literally not anything to do with them being interesting at all it's just having Something to say to give people even the barest thing to hold on to. It's so you don't get into the "what have you been up to" "nothing much what about you" "yeah same" trap. Literally just say something.
What have you been up to? Um well it's getting warmer so I've been having to brush my cat every day.
Like no it's not that interesting of a thing to say. But now they can respond to it. They could say, man yeah it really is heating up, I've been trying to think of things to do inside more often. Or, oh you have a cat? What's their name?
Like. It's Something. All you need is Something. And if you're like me and your brain immediately goes blank upon entering small talk then keeping a list will help you remember things to say.
I bet his grandmother was really happy that her grandson finally found people ‘who’s not an old lady’ that wanted to spend his day with him. A short celebration with her and then “Go, go, go. I’m sure your friends are waiting for you. Have fun, my precious boy.”
i attended a medieval literature class where every single student had watched bbc’s merlin and some of the ways the show was described include
‘the one where king arthur has a hot magical twink’
‘has an evil cgi dragon acting like a bridge toll giving prophecies and riddles’
‘the gay one with the gays and the lesbians’
and my personal favourite, ‘merlin commits too hard to the bit and suffers for it’
