it’s amazing how women are able to navigate crowded rooms without ever touching a palm to a man’s lower back
you'd think occasionally men would need to touch other men like this to manoeuvre them out of the way but it never happens

Oh, okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don’t know, that gaslight gatekeep girlboss meme, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you think modern feminism has been co-opted by corporations. But what you don’t know is that that meme is not from Instagram, it's not from Twitter, it's not from Tiktok, it’s actually from Tumblr. You’re also blithely unaware of the fact that in January 2021, Tumblr user missnumber1111 posted, "today's agenda: gaslight gatekeep and most importantly girlboss." And then I think it was a-m-e-t-h-y-s-t-r-o-s-e, wasn’t it, who reblogged it with an image of the phrase edited over a piece of "Live, Laugh, Love" wall art? And then gaslight gatekeep girlboss showed up in the feeds of eight different Twitter repost accounts. Then it filtered down through Instagram and then trickled on down into some tragic “alt side of Tiktok” where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that meme represents millions of notes and countless Tumblr users and so it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from Tumblr when, in fact, you’re wearing the meme that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of “stuff.”
I swear this is how I feel every time I see a Tumblr screenshot out in the wild
SIG AROACE REAL
iconic of him to be like "sirens and love magic have no effect on me!" and then immediately fall victim to enchanted baked goods
^^this is how i imagined luxe seducing-assasinating him
The irony of this new breed of self-righteous AI hunters on AO3 is that they're all just copy and pasting peoples fics into AI detectors, which are all operated by AI and therefore THEY are feeding people's work into the algorithm without their consent and in some cases no doubt circumventing the locks people put on to avoid getting scraped...
Don't copy and paste anyone's AO3 work into third party websites, you're not the good guys in this situation?

what is THE worst thing you've ever drank. all liquids acceptable. please tell me what it was, bonus points for why
Hey whoa hi. Hello. I am looking directly into your ear canal. What do you mean you drank a tube of virus concentrate.
So, I was working in a lab, right? My job in the lab was preparing a pure, concentrated enough sample of virus. This is tricky since, y'know, viruses require hosts to replicate, but you then need to get the host cells (and the pieces of the host cells that died!) out of the sample while still keeping the viruses. Once I'd finished and the samples had been sent to the database for analysis as well as a second one sent to be frozen for future reference, there was still some left over that needed to be disposed of.
I, knowing that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, waited carefully for the lab director to be deep in conversation with someone else on the other side of the laboratory. And then I took my chance.
Test tubes, as it turns out, are really bad as shot glasses. Their shape turns any liquid inside into a stream, so you really can't knock it back quickly - it takes a couple seconds. Additionally, the best way I can describe the taste of virus concentrate was "sterile rot". A very unique kind of bad! Made worse by the test tube's inefficiency as a shot glass.
(by the way we were studying bacteriophages, not animal viruses. these viruses are too specialized on attacking prokaryotes to even recognize our cells as targets at all, according to studies.)
(but also like. if the viruses managed to successfully switch hosts and killed me with a violent infection, itd still be worth it.)
(for science.)
You have a fitting blog title
this post is getting 50k easy
Maya Jayashtri🤝Maxwell Gotch being told you have tone issues for asking a bunch of wildcards who won't explain themselves perfectly reasonable questions
this is from the 2000’s btw
Looks like @staff mistakenly censored this comic, which is an ironic and very funny thing to happen
Here it is again. You might want to save it just in case an accident like that happens again
EDIT: HMM. LOOKS LIKE OP WAS BANNED TOO. WHAT A FUNNY. IRONIC. ACCIDENT
Saw someone say Midnight Burger isn't as popular as it should be and had to remind myself my experience is not "mainstream".
@ratking-pdf :
Guess what my first thought for the second example was.
TMA probably a bigger fandom, but I haven't personally listened.
Also considered The Amelia Project, but decided Re: Dracula was bigger.
i love that all fiction podcasts are lumped into a big fandom blob even though they’re all so different. and the funny part is we haven’t even listen to all the same podcasts.
I like the fandom blob! It makes audiodrama feel like one large community, and it makes it easier for shows from first-time creators to self-market and for listeners to organically find new shows.
Nancy Danderhoof uncovering a half trillion dollar white collar crime in Hong Kong for the Omaha Sunday Scoop is one end of the spectrum of the Intrepid Heroes always heightening a bit for comedic purposes
The opposite end of that spectrum is Gilear
murph has such an impeccable talent to take the trope of big stoic buff guy with a code of honor and instead of being so cool make a character who is an absolute loser
I really like how wild the coterie looks to Maya, Amelia, and Cody.
Cody mentions to Maya that there are vampires in town Maya goes "yeah, I think they were dating." and Cody who ran into Mitch and Madelaine says "Really?" pauses and goes "I guess."
Amelia learns they live in her house after Maya comes home with part of her old wall. They meet after episode 9 and talk about how the hunter in town and Barnaby Whittaker who they thought was kind of immortal at the moment have both been taken care of and also Bigfoot is back. They've been in this town for their life and everything's shaping up so fast. There are now nine busses parked outside the co-op.
Sorry if it’s a little cramped- had to make this all fit in ten photos. Hope you guys like it….. and again…. sorry Andrew

I haven’t seen this in years and yet it is burned into my memory forever.
This is on the short list of Eternal Reblog because it’s fucking legendary.
An honourable candidate for the @hellsite-hall-of-fame
Every time I see the start of this on my dash I’m like “fuck yeah time to laugh until I can’t breathe again”
I love that trope you see in some podcasts where the narrator has a very obvious seething hatred of one of the people or organisations that they regularly talk about and is just. So comically uncharitable in their reporting about them. And you don't learn why for ages if at all, they just Fucking Hate Them. I love Cecil and Steve Carlsberg. I love Dr Harley and the Botany department. I love petty but overwhelming malice in the hands of a biased reporter.
oh i'm going to misusle and straight up fuckle this knowledge so badly
