Steps of cutting your own hair:

Yeah, absolutely!

So in book 12, Nyra plans to use magic to force Coryn back to the pure ones. Prior to that reveal though, I thought she might be using that magic to bring back Kludd.

Basically, in this AU, that’s what happens. She uses magic to bring back Kludd.

He would return to being high tyto, and would then interact with Soren and Coryn (who are horrified), Twilight (who killed him the last time, and is horrified) and obviously Nyra.

For Nyra, she’d see this as a classic Came Back Wrong. Kludd would end up with specific health issues that damage his ability to fight, but more importantly, he would resume a position of power over her, when Nyra had gotten used to being in charge. Nyra also isn’t as pretty anymore, she’s becoming more haggish, and the pure ones are starting to work with non-tytos. Kludd would hate all this. They aren’t on the same page anymore, which is hurting the pure ones. They are, however, both interested in vengeance.

Plot wise, I don’t have everything nailed down. I think I’d scrap the Middle Kingdom arcs in favor of the emotional conflicts between Kludd and everyone else, but I’m still figuring out specifics.

i put far too much time and effort into researching flowers and their meanings, so if you'd like to see that, it's under the cut!

on the first page, the flowers on the border are white lilies, white lilac, yellow chrysanthemums, and buttercups.

white lily- purity/virginity, loneliness of being left behind

white lilac- purity, youthful innocence

yellow chrysanthemum- both neglected love/sorrow and joy, happiness, and friendship

buttercup- joy, youthful innocence

i wanted to find flowers that meant loneliness but really only found the white lily. i ended up using more that meant friendship or youthful innocence because there are wayyyy more flowers that mean that and it's still part of the vibe i wanted. the leaves on the border are buttercup leaves.

on the second page, the flowers are cinquefoil, primrose, lily of the valley, queen of the night, and yarrow.

cinquefoil- maternal love, beloved daughter

primrose- childhood

lily of the valley- return to happiness

queen of the night- fleeting beauty

yarrow- healing, love

i wanted to emphasize the connection and love between holly and squilf, but also the fact that this is a sweet memory of a time that does not last long. the future weighs heavy on holly's past, nothing will ever be as it once was. i was sooo close to putting periwinkle on this page, for nostalgia/fond remembrance, but it didn't fit the color scheme :(

i got most of the meanings from the wikipedia page listing flower meanings from old floriography books, but also by looking at google and seeing what the most common meanings of certain flowers were.
