Another poem from my thesis collection, Fishing For The Gods.
The final cover for my poetry collection I did for my senior year thesis-project at CCAD - Fishing For The Gods. Really pleased with how it ended up. A mix of watercolor and digital media. :)Ā
Little Bluebird
A final piece for a collection of poetry I did for my thesis project during my senior year of college. Modeled after a dead bluebird that I found in my chimney.Ā
This is the artwork for one of the songs me and my band (Nostalgia Cage) recorded a few months back titledĀ āThird Hand.ā I took hundreds of black and white photographs to create a balance of man/nature/machine that I felt captured the intended aesthetic and subject matter of the song. Obviously inspired by reading Stelarcās essay, Third Hand. :)Ā
Iām trying to catch up on my tumblr posts in the next few days, lol, itās been a while!
Youtube: THIRD HANDĀ
Todayās Quickfire was to design a tattoo sleeve based on a childhood memory.
This is based on that time a fox killed off some of my chickens before I chased the fool away
Apparently I never uploaded the digital version of this - Cloven Capra - a poster concept design for my band ///which no longer wishes to go by that name///LAME
Let your voice be heard
Concept illustration for an inspirational childrens poster :)Ā
The Dentist
Hereās a really horrible quality video showing my bloodied apron display XDĀ
Finished thisĀ āReconceptualization of an objectā assignment for my curatorial projects class.
Mimicking blood spatter and mixing the right shade of inks in order to create old and new looking stains was an interesting process. I also stained it with soil in my bathtub to age the fabric itself. XD
Nocturnal Animal Calendar Project
July - Slow Loris
These primates are found in Southeast Asia and neighboring areas. Rare in mammals, they have a toxic bite that is achieved by licking a gland on their arm. The secretion is activated when mixed with saliva and is used in protection against predators.
Nocturnal Animal Calendar Project
March - Barn Owl
The common barn owl is the most widespread land bird species in the world - inhabiting every continent except Antarctica. They do not require sight to hunt, as their hearing is incredibly acute. With ears placed asymmetrically, this allows for a greater detection of sound position and distance.
Nocturnal Animals Calendar Project
May - Striped Skunk This common polecat is found from central Canada, throughout the United States, and Northern Mexico. The Skunk has well-developed anal scent glands which emit a spray when threatened, accurate up to two meters. They are beneficial to our ecosystem in that they feed on infestive rats and mice, and insects which are harmful to agriculture.
Nocturnal Animal Calendar Project
Starting things off with September - the Aardvark.Ā
These nocturnal creatures are native to Africa. Their name, which comes from Afrikaans (erdvark) means āearth pig,ā due to their hog-like snout. They donāt fare well in extreme heat, so they remain in their burrows until they can hunt in cooler night temperatures; feeding on ants and termites.Ā Ā
First Quickfire of the year. We had to create a google doodle based upon an event that happens/occurred on our birth day. (obviously mine is Feb 6)Ā
Historically, not a lot has happened on this day, but John Steinbeckās Of Mice And Men was published on February 6, 1937 - and itās one of my favorite books, so I had to choose this over all others. -- Two color versions because I couldnāt decide which I preferred.Ā
Knives
Decided to post the final alone as well, away from all the process work
This was a WIP that I never finished, so I figured Iād still post the incomplete version.
I grew up watching this little pink dog, Iām pretty fond of him, brings back childhood memories.
