I’m also alone this christmas and it’s not the first time. I know lots of people who especially these past 2 years, can’t quite catch that festive spirit and catch more stress and bad vibes than is good for them; if you feel like this too, you aren’t alone in this. You aren’t ruining anything. More than likely, if not immediately, then in retrospect, your people will be glad you bring your feels up on christmas rather than not at all and are lost.

If there’s really no one you dare share your feeling with, there’s hotlines, many mentioned above, and if the line is busy which is something I’ve often experienced, there are e-mail chats possible. So to me, there are spoons (general energy cost) and carnival tickets (specific energy cost).

Spoons can be used pretty much anywhere.

Carnival tickets are only good for the carnival, and it’s only in town for a limited amount of time.

So like, if I get “kitchen cleaning” carnival tickets, I can’t use that to clean my bedroom, that’s not where the carnival is.
