It must be exhausting to be constantly at war with yourself.

While I understand that there were days that I can't be with you,

And it became a part of our survival skill to move forward because we don't have the other way around,

Please know that it does get better.

And while we can't always get forgiveness from people who scared your tiny little soul,

I hope we can finally accept that forgiveness isn't always a prerequisite to healing.

I understand that unprocessed trauma does not just disappear

that it will always be stored in your body.

It can be a very lonely journey.

But it's okay to take all the time to unlearn years of conditioning.

Idle

I miss writing. I miss the comfort that writing gives me, especially in times when I want to vent and rant out, but I can’t, because I am silenced by my own fear.

I miss the clickety-clack of my fast typing, the thoughts that most of the time I chase before they are whisked away by more thoughts, the memories before they are gone with the wind.

I miss having a conversation with myself in my mind. I miss the feeling of just being proud of myself because I can construct thoughts that are deep enough for any soul to comprehend. I miss being eloquent.

I miss voicing myself out through my words that only I can say. 

The thoughts are rushing again. Too fast. I can’t get a grip on them.

Oh well, maybe next time.

It's been a month.

We rescued her on 09/24/2023. Alone in the street, scared with a broken leg. We bought food, and toys and gave her warmth and comfort. I really thought she would grow old with us. She's just a small, fragile, black kitten. Sadly, she passed away (10/03/23). I didn't expect that even in a short period of time, grief would still be this painful.

She was the sweetest. She always sits next to us. Maybe because she misses her mom and her warmth. It is sad to think that we were just given a short time to fill that void. But I hope despite the short time, we are able to make her feel that she has a family. I miss her. I still don't think she deserves to go. She was just a baby. And now I feel that I lost a baby of my own. I still blame myself. Maybe I did something or worse, I didn't do something.

Regardless, it is comforting to think that a gentle reaper helped her cross the rainbow bridge. I like to think of it that way. She had a broken leg. She needed help. I wished she was now full of energy playing with other cats & kittens with her healed leg. I hope she's okay and happy now. I know she's home.

I didn't expect the immense pain this will bring. I feel like there is a hole in my heart that needs lifelong healing. But I hope when the time comes that we will meet again, she still remembers me. And she'd still lay her paws on mine and feel the warmth. And take her gentle nap.

I miss you, Appa. We named you after the flying bison of Aang. And now it's your time to fly too! Please greet me and welcome me home soon. In time. Thank you for making me realize that I can still extend my heart to another living thing like you.

I guess many people only think that I've become a fan of Taylor Swift because of the hype. Not knowing I've been singing to Teardrops on My Guitar since 2006. Call myself a fan since the Fearless era in 2008. And many of you might not have even been alive at that time TᴖT

But this album, this album is my era. This album speaks closely to my heart. Because less than a year after the album was released was the first time I started dedicating a song to a specific person. Hell, it was even a whole album! Singing my heart out, feeling the lyrics. Because suddenly, all of the following songs are about him. ♡

This is also a heads-up that I'll be screaming and sharing, and reminiscing the younger version of me and how 13 years have passed while I am mouthing every single word on this album for the upcoming weeks. Anyway- two days 'til Speak Now TV!

7 May 2022. 

Ah, the final run. 

2 days before the "day". The day after is Mother's Day. The next day is the election.

This is it!

Since this is the last run, of course I would never let this past. 

To share, my schedule on that day is packed! 

I remember I have a schedule to watch Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness the same day. I have a movie date. I have to prepare in the morning, go to the movie date. But wait, there's more! We did a little shopping and bought our air cooler. Fast forward, I had to act quickly so I could jump into the crowd in Ayala.

I booked a ride and immediately went to Ayala Avenue, Makati. I am, somehow, familiar with the place (or so I thought, I'll tell you that later). Since my cousins and sister went to the venue earlier because I went to a movie and ran some stuff, you guessed it, we never saw each other during the event. They were in the middle of the Avenue while I was at the side of the main stage. Yes, I have the best spot. Problem is, I have to stand the whole time. We have an LED screen in front of us. So aside from being able to see the main stage from afar, I can see them clearly on the screen. Of course, it is still VP Leni's speech which I just finished.

At the moment, we all feel like we are at the hype of our highest hope. Like we are so close on a brighter tomorrow for the country. Like we are all heading towards a war for Inang Bayan. All for the love of you, Philippines. At that moment, the flags we all are waiving, means so much.

I've never felt so strongly about an election. And this is the first time I am out on the streets wishing for a safer and cleaner tomorrow. Asking strangers to help us help each other. Following simple rules that became so normal to just skip. Being a lot kinder to people. To everyone. Lending a hand, volunteering, sharing the same hope. All because I believe we can make it through. It was an impossible fight from the beginning but just to stand together with millions is indeed a proud moment. I poured my whole heart into this campaign. Believed in the people that I know for sure, doesn't just want power, but to help. Their genuine heart. 

Years from now, when our kids ask where we are when millions decide to fight for the country, I can proudly say I am here. At this moment.

BGC Final Pink Walk

Hello again!

Unfortunately, I have a shift from 11 am to 8 pm and I am unable to be a part of the BGC Final Pink Walk. But I have my sisters and cousins together with Hannah (who's also an active H2H volunteer) and her girlfriend who participated in this event. I am unable to share the exact things that happened from first to end of the event but allow me to share the photos that came from the people mentioned above. LOL.

It is sad that I am not a part of this but you know, adulting. 

Right after I was done with my shift, they came to the nearest Mcdonalds in our office which is just in front of our office. And surprisingly, the whole McDo is filled with Kakampinks! Which feels so good.

I do not have a photo but you can guess the color of my shirt.

ArawNa10To : NCR is PINK

Do you remember the hype?

The pressure because of the OlymPINKS? Because I do.

I remember the 500k goal because that's how competitive we are. 

We have this internal competition where the goal is to be the top of OlymPinks. So, basically, it is the number of attendees per rally. As a part of the NCR team, the pressure is real!

This is my second grand rally. Second to PasigLaban. 

Of course, it's still me and my cousins; Jean, Erika and Justine. This time, we have Daniel, my sister. Who's been very active in House 2 House campaigning. We left the house around 2 pm. And arrived at Macapagal Avenue around 4 in the afternoon. You will know that you are near the venue when you start seeing fellow Kakampink walking, on their rides, or by noticing the ribbons, stickers and banners on their car. 

We arrived excited. And our first stop - FREE ICE CREAM from a Kakampink vendor. Imagine the generosity! And I am not even biased or exaggerating but this is by far the best ice cream I have ever tasted!

Our goal is just to be in front of an LED monitor. And luckily, we found a perfect spot. Second LED from the Macapagal bay. There are 3 stages and the next LED after the first stage from the entrance is where we decided to stop and sit. The best spot, I can say. Obviously, the people around are so nice and we received a couple of foods and goodies and swear, you can never be hungry at every rally!

Me and my sister brought our own banner with witty statements and it feels so good when people ask to take a picture of your placard.

The energy is real! At first we thought the event started a bit early, but we never thought that this event was packed with so many surprises, celebrities and performers. And even if it is already past 10 pm, the crowd is still up and shouting, laughing, singing. If I can only capture the hype and go back every time, I would. But at this moment, all I can do is to remember. Reminisce.

We only finished the speech of VPL. And decided to step out. One is because we do not want to join the large crowd going out too. After VP Leni, Ben & Ben performed. And mind you, we all love this band. But I guess it only shows the reason why we are really there.

Indeed, how beautiful it is to see your family, people, and even strangers to fight for the country. Grateful, safe, and hopeful.

H2H : Puso sa Puso, Tao sa Tao Para Kay Robredo

This is one of the things I missed about the People's campaign.

Now allow me to start this post by saying that I couldn't imagine being a part of this nor can I do this. If you know me, I have low social energy and just imagining I will be surrounded by so many people drains me. Plus the fact that I have to talk to them! I can't. That is not me. But all of this was shifted due to my hunger for change. Because of the hope I have in my heart.

As May 9 approaches, the whole Kakampink community decided to launch a House to House campaign. We call it "Puso sa Puso, Tao sa Tao Para Kay Robredo." And to be honest, I never had a single doubt on that very moment if I would participate. I immediately volunteered.

We have multiple group chats on messenger where we post updates on the upcoming events and Kakampink gatherings. One is MY4L G2 or Makati Youth 4 Leni, Brgy Rizal Volunteer 4 Leni and our own group chat, where me, my cousins and sisters are all in.

My very first H2H experience was when we joined the Pembo cluster to campaign at Target Range, Pembo. We prepared flyers, tarpaulin and stickers to hand over to people who's willing to show their support to Tropang Angat. Of course, we also talked to people asking if they already have a Presidential bet. We tried to lay out the platforms and the things our Presidential candidate Leni Robredo and Vice Presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan have accomplished. So as the platforms, background and accomplishment of the whole Tropang Angat. Despite all the peaceful talk, you cannot really avoid people who will attacked and shout at us and our team. But there is really something about VP Leni's Radikal Magmahal tagline. You really have to extend your patience.
