Introduction Post, I Guess

Please call me Cyan, I use any/all pronouns.

This blog will just be me yapping about things I enjoy, 'cause I am very chatty! And it will have information about my fanfics.

As a certified chatty person with no one to chat to, this blog will include information I find interesting, headcanons, fanfic recs, fan fiction ideas, updates on my fanfics, series recs, and more!

I am not picky about content I consume, I will read/watch/play just about anything, and always appreciate recommendations.

Some of the things I'm already involved with are Percy Jackson, Twisted Wonderland, Eleceed, Apothecary Diaries, Stars Align, Spider-Man, Stardew Valley, and Steven Universe. Plus many, many more, but we would be here for ages if I listed all of them out.

I am always happy to have civil discussions about shows, series, fandoms, ships, and just about anything else. I'm glad to have you here! Hope you have a fun stay!

I made this for me and my parents to play, and wanted to share! Please do not repost on other sites.

I would love if anyone who wants to play would share what books they are reading, or any recommendations they have for the different spaces. I want people to use this to interact with others in a fun reading game.

I also want this to encourage people to read! Anything! Novels? Of course. Comic books? Absolutely! Graphic Novels? Naturally. Scripts? Certainly. Poems? Evidently. Fan fiction? Why not! The point of this game is just to get people reading, no matter what medium its in. (And yes, audiobooks count!)

I will post more boards in the future, as I make them, which will be approximately every 8 weeks. That is how long our game is lasting. If you have any requests for spaces you want to see on future boards, let me know!

Trying to figure out if you’re ace or aro can be so goddamn hard because it’s like, trying to find the absence of something. Imagine you’re at a pond and you want to know if there are any turtles, or fish. Say you find a turtle and you’re like “great! Now I know there are turtles.” Or a fish, now you know for sure there are fish. Or you find both, and now you know for a fact there are both turtles and fish in the pond.

But like, if you don’t find any turtles it might be that there are no turtles or maybe you’re just really shitty at looking for turtles and maybe you THINK you saw a turtle over there or maybe it was just a stick. Maybe there are only a few turtles. Maybe you need to do something special to find the turtles. Maybe a bunch of these rocks are actually turtles but you couldn’t tell them apart. Maybe there are no turtles. You have no idea. Meanwhile some people are saying “Oh there have to be turtles! You’ll find them eventually ;)” or “How many turtles have you found in your pond?” or “Try planting some vegetables at the shore to attract the turtles.” Or “Oh no! What disaster happened to your pond that there are no turtles?” And you’re just standing there wet with an empty net and a tired expression.

But whatever because whether there are turtles or fish or not your pond’s ecology works just fine without them because that’s what eco-communities do they form a system around what they have. You aren’t missing anything if you don’t have turtles you just have a pond system without turtles. If someone tried to change you by pouring a bunch of turtles into your pond it would probably fuck something up.

So you don’t have to be entirely sure. You don’t have to search every inch of the damn pond before you can decide there are probably no turtles. If you want to take the aro or ace label because you think it fits go for it. And if you do find your turtles you can rename the pond. That’s fine.

I watched 'Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss But I'm Not the Demon Lord'

It was really good! I had a lot of fun watching it.

I love the main character, she was very relatable. She was very funny and honestly a mood pretty much the entire time.

these cats are displaying remarkable theory of mind skills by not only registering that the humans can perceive them but actively trying to manipulate that perception! that requires one to be aware that other individuals have complicated interior thoughts of their own, to know that those thoughts are not always based on truth, and to quickly decide on the best possible “lie” for the situation. this is why I despise animal intelligence tasks based on obedience— some of the most clever moments stem from intelligent disobedience.

Fanon likes to portray Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji as being jealous of each other because they fear wei wuxian will choose one of them over the other. Which is ignoring the fact that at least in novel canon Jiang Cheng did not even fucking know wangxian ever got along let alone that lwj was in love with wwx until at the very end of the story (in cql canon he does go through a wangxian phase early on and gets very confused by their "breakup" during wwx's sunshot era) and that Lan Wangji is mostly filled with loathing towards both himself and Jiang Cheng for 'abandoning' Wei Wuxian and not being able to save him.

It also ignores the much bigger point that both Lan Wangji and Jiang Cheng are actually jealous of Wen Ning. And why wouldn't they be? That is who Wei Wuxian chose in his first life. He left the Jiang, told Lan Wangji to fuck off no he is not coming to gusu with you, and spent his days with his little-brother-shaped corpse bestie on his mountain in yiling. And then when he came back he immediately called him up the second he could string together more than two notes on a flute. Wen Ning is the real competition. (And he's winning)

I think part of the reason I’m so obsessed with MXTX’s works is the way that each story seems to hold you gently as say “Your kindness mattered. It didn’t alleviate the suffering, it did not undo the pain. But your kindness mattered.”

Kindness could not erase Luo Binghe’s abuse, but it changed the story into a kinder one.

Kindness did not stop Wei Wuxian’s death, but it did save a-Yuan.

Kindness did not undo Xie Lian’s suffering, but it renewed his sincerity to help others.

Kindness did not change the entire world, but it helped create a softer future.

Its such a nice message, that maybe kindness will not protect you, maybe you don’t see the outcome of it, but you should still try to be kind, and I love that honestly.

there are some people who unironically believe that no one except wei wuxian and lan wangji got their “happy ending” and the rest of the cast (consisting majorly of antagonists and characters who had previously suffered no consequences for their actions) getting any degree of miserable conclusions is unfair. to which i must wonder... do they realise that for thirteen years before the second timeline began in full swing, these positions were completely reversed and wei wuxian literally died and lan wangji was faced with the most brutal punishment a member of the great sects could be faced with? that we were given a taste of what a “happy ending” could look like for characters like jin guangyao, lan xichen, jiang cheng and the fact that it blew up in flames demonstrates exactly how no one deserves a bump-free aftermath if it means their actions have gone unaddressed.

if our protagonist and deuteragonist were not spared consequences—truly “no good deed goes unpunished”—what makes people think that the characters who were the antagonists and on the fringes and allowed atrocities to occur should get a scot-free end? mind you, i still think alot of people get a mere slap on the wrist for the magnitude of harm they have caused but that is consistent with the themes of the gentry class receiving leniency in every aspect possible.

look, i get wanting your favourite characters to have “good” endings but just think for a second about what these characters have done and why their finish line in the story looks the way it does. what would the weight of mdzs’ narrative remain if after all the rotten actions of people in power were exposed, all the wilful negligence was brought to light, these characters were allowed to go back to normalcy and immediately find a way to enjoy life as if nothing was amiss? as if their actions were meant only to affect other people and never their ownselves? and even then, the thing to remember is that mdzs’ ending is just one point in time. much like the “ending” of the first timeline, things go on, life goes on and characters like jiang cheng and lan xichen won’t stagnate till eternity—they will move past their circumstances shown in the end of the novels, for better or for worse.

it’s not that wei wuxian and lan wangji get to enjoy their happy ending while the rest suffer because in actuality, they have paid the prices for their actions threefold, they have faced their consequences and why should they not get some morsel of happiness after everything they have endured? as wei wuxian rightfully asked the sect leaders—what more would you want from him? why should he not be allowed this more pleasant conclusion because some think his happiness is a slight against the antagonists’ “misery” and feel compelled to have them flattened to the same level to ignore acknowledging why they received the endings that they did?
