Reposting Sarah bc she's the goat 🐐
radioactive hot take but someone hurting you does not give you the right to hurt them back indefinitely
scifi/fantasy rpg: Yeah so when you go outside settlements there are Plunderers. These are like fully-grown human beings whose only purpose in life is to attack people who travel between settlements. This lifestyle is somehow sustainable enough that there's more of them than there are friendly NPCs
Where do Plunderers live? Well in Plunderer Camps, which are often quite permanent-looking settlements, but like. Don't think too hard about why this entire group of people is just considered intrinsically criminal with no attempts to even try diplomacy or trade with them.
Plunderers can be distinguished from Normal People by the fact that they wear distinct Plunderer Equipment and have fully separate aesthetics in how they construct their settlements compared to everyone else.
Hey this is really fucking weird right?
Anyway I was playing Baldur's Gate 1 and there's a quest where a paladin asks you to collect "Bandit" scalps. These are dropped by everyone in the Intrinsic Category of Bandit. Which really struck me as particularly shameless about this whole thing.
Oop, correction: Scalp collector lady is not explicitly a paladin, she's a member of the Flaming Fist.
So that's what Wyll's dad's organization were up to about a century before bg3!
Also bandits drop scalps before you're even asked to collect them, which has disturbing implications about what the fuck it is you're doing there.
I mean not to say that modern works of fantasy don't distort a historical view or nothing, but bandits were absolutely a problem in Medieval Europe with the whole robbing, kidnapping for ransom, and setting up extortion rackets for tolls.
And to head off an anti-authoritarian misread of banditry: while there were probably poor schmucks who turned to what was essentially gang violence due to a lack of options, often enough there seem to be ties back to nobles as a way to hurt each other or as a means of organized crime. This seems par for course with a lot of historical pirates, who were less free booting anarchists and more willful participants in the struggles between nations - whether you're talking about the Caribbean Sea or East China Sea.
Idk it kind of bugs me when people try to cram everything into an anti imperialist/colonial framework with such little attention to the facts of history that they end up entirely inverting the dynamics at play
seeing stuff abot that blue girl sucks. She says trans men suck and then 1000000000000 people show up to call her a pathetic freak monster and run her off the internet. And every post about her has multiple comments calling her a man. But yes we need to protect the poor little trans men from that horrible male monster. If you think she did anything wrong you need to kill yourself for real its the only moral option
Throwing bigotry at another transgender group in public is not a valid form of processing and healing, actually.
I have been hurt by other queer and trans people throughout my life and never have I publicly made such statements, nor indeed would I expect other trans women to circle the wagons around me.
We must be better than this.
people on twitter are trying to cancel sadie liath (the trans woman who went viral not too long ago for wearing blue body paint) because she tweeted "done with trans men forever sorry." the post literally feels like the sort of thing you'd post after a really shitty date or a breakup and isn't targeted at anyone.
i don't know her at all but i really hope this doesn't hurt her too badly, and i haven't seen anyone here talk about it.
turns out i was right and she did just get out of an 8 year long abusive relationship with a trans man. not sure why people decided to add getting her run off of twitter to the pain of that, but congrats. you made it worse.
Hopefully it's okay for me to add onto this (if not i'll delete it), but this situation has been bothering me all day as well
I essentially had to investigate to figure out what happened here after seeing nothing but replies to a now-deleted tweet of trans women i follow shading anecdotal stories about how trans men helped them in the past with shaming comments like "you could never make me hate our brothers"
eventually i saw a vague post about it and looked into the replies, somebody asked for context and the only reply to that said "the blue lady went transphobic." which was odd to me, seeing as how i primarily knew her from being trans!
the fact that i couldn't find additional context aside from this was pretty terrifying, all i could find was "she has a bigoted crash out" without anyone actually elaborating
the rest of the day all i could find were posts from prominent trans women (notably all white and relatively well-off, as they so often are) talking about how they love and support trans men, replies condemning division and "hating on oppressed groups of any kind right now"
the worst of it though was seeing people already speculating on her mental state- "a person trying to tattoo themselves blue was kinda insane?" (notably of course also degendering her). it's the tried and true way to cast aside women, to call them insane and write them off
and of course anybody pointing out the harassment of an abuse victim being fucked up is met with the old "you're just like TERFs"
when i FINALLY found the full context i was shocked that it was even more benign than i assumed it had to have been. all she really said was that she didn't like or trust trans men after a traumatic experience
as my girlfriend pointed out, it's a pretty universal experience for cis women to say "i hate men" or "fuck all men" especially after a bad relationship, so why on earth is this any different, why is it now a huge issue of bigotry?
I say all this as someone who didn't really follow her btw! i have no vested interest in defending her, i found the blue thing kind of annoying. if she kept posting as normal i likely would've never known or encountered her again
but this? it's terrifying, and it's enabled by the types of trans women who are allowed to have a platform. only those that are white, rich, conventionally attractive, and know which buttons not to press. it's horrifying to see them turn on their sister en masse as soon as she steps out of line
I got these screenshots as it was happening. I don't want to care about this playground infighting, but I'm forced to at least acknowledge it's existence when it happens over and over again.
Obviously after someone goes through a bad breakup (and as far as I know, abusive relationship) they're gonna say stupid shit about a group of people. She just happened to have a large following and post about it, but it got annoying and cringe because of her doubling down and the community's response.
I don't want to see this every month so I go outside and be part of the community and I hope you are able to do the same.
Yeah it's important to include exactly what she said and as much contextual information as possible, because people on both sides of this drama are really massaging the facts to fit their narrative.
Like Christ, it's possible to acknowledge both that this kind of backlash would mainly happen to a trans woman AND also she was being a ginormous asshole to trans men in particular to her not insubstantial audience.
if you're like even a little bit sincere in your belief in restorative justice you'll keep seeing it forever. "X did Y to Z" isn't important because Z was harmed, what's important is that X is a bad person for doing Y. we can keep bringing up that X did Y forever YEARS after the fact, no matter how the situation has been handled privately between X and Z, because what happened to Z isn't important. What's important is that X doing Y makes X a terrible person forever. You see this a lot in the lily orchard harassment campaign.
I remember a little while back playing a visual novel on stream and someone informed me later that the creator groomed someone. Horrible, obviously, but looking into it the creator already privately made amends with the person they harmed, acknowledged what they did was horrible, plus the situation was several years old. Realistically? none of my fucking business. A resolved situation that does not need to keep being relitigated again by me, who is completely uninvolved. Why was i told about it anyways? because X did Y, and that makes them a terrible person. Why would you associate with a terrible person? why aren't you condemning them?
Because simply put condemning a person forever isn't justice, a person is allowed to fuck up and move on, and continuously regurgitating receipts and being condemned by random strangers on the internet does nothing for the victim.
oh, yeah, definitely. like, i'm not forgiving my parents for shit. but like, i don't need everyone on the internet to morally condemn my parents and i don't need to continuously try to make their lives worse once i'm out of it. that's completely pointless.
If, hypothetically, there's people with a long laundry list of things they want to accuse, let's say, a trans woman of doing, and they're telling you about it, ask yourself how this helps her supposed victims (if they aren't made up whole cloth). ask yourself why you need to know about this, ask yourself what it's trying to make you do with the information and whether morally condemning this person will in any way help the victim. Because the answer is usually that it's none of your fucking business, they're just trying to socially ruin someone they weren't even personally affected by and they don't sincerely care about the victims of harm.
What is fundamental to the ideas of restorative justice and transformative accountability is that punitive justice is NOT justice. It's revenge sanctioned by those who have power to dole it out. Restorative justice seeks to provide those who have been hurt with whatever they need to heal. It seeks to teach those who have hurt others how to avoid doing that in the future, and failing that, it seeks to protect future harm. The reality for 99% of trans women who have been stalked and harassed is that most of them never even hurt anyone in the first place. They don't have children, date people with children, they don't work with children, or have leadership roles where they can gain access to children. They have maybe, a weird kink. Which no one would bat an eye at if a cis person did it. They can't be accountable to harm that never occurred, which is actually preferable to people who are addicted to harassing trans women. There is no pathway to forgiveness, because the victim here can't atone for things they didn't do. This allows the harassers the perfect framing to continue the harassment indefinitely, or until the target kills herself.
No, I don't think calling Thanksgiving the "genocide holiday" is anything more than a performance of leftist activism.
Yes, I think it's very important to acknowledge the violence and exploitation underlying institutions and traditions, and it's important to try to change those for the better.
i can not overstate that literally every single transfem who's been banned off of tumblr (that i've heard of) has been slandered in some way related to sexuality. every single one has rumors of being a sex pest, every single one has been accused of pedophilia or rape, every single one has had their sexual preferences nitpicked and dissected publically. and every single time there's some group of total fucking idiots going "well you can't just pretend every trans woman is a good person and this one clearly deserved it".
have you, person who isn't a transfem, casually been asserted to be a sex pest? has someone casually insinuated that you're a pedophile or a rapist? do you *not* see the pattern where for some reason the private sexual preferences of people only get divulged and speculated on if the subject is transfeminine? it *just so happens* that every trans woman who gets banned on this website was completely justified and transmisogyny isn't a factor in any single one of these decisions? are you fucking stupid?
Meagan Morris, 41, shared with KERA News in interviews her perspective of what happened July 4.
Please read and share: Interview with Meagan Morris, a trans woman who is one of the Prairieland political prisoners framed up over a Texas ICE protest.
Donate to the Prairieland prisoners' defense fund: https://www.givesendgo.com/supportdfwprotestors
Her public defender is deliberately deadnaming and misgendering her despite her already having her legal name changed years ago. She is being kept in a men’s jail. Clearly her attorney is deliberately acting against the interests of his client. There’s gotta be something more we can do
Here’s said lawyer’s info, I haven’t verified it’s the same person but given his name is the same and I didn’t have to type “lawyer” or “attorney” for him to show up, I think it’s safe to conclude it’s the same person
near cleburne, tx
Do with this information what you will
I sent him an email asking him to stop deadnaming her and to respect who she is and this is the response I got back.
I'm one of Meagan Morris' partners and there's a couple things we've been trying to do about her shitty lawyer:
It's possible, but difficult, to file a complaint against a public defender for being openly hostile or unprofessional in treating their defendant, in order to request a new public defender from the county. Replies like the one he gave above are great evidence that he should not be assigned to someone that he's openly bigoted against. (I've got multiple emails he sent to me that are similar in tone, so I'm not surprised he's sending hateful emails instead of doing his job as a lawyer)
similarly, any emails like this can go into a complaint to the Texas state bar, which we plan to file as well. Luttrell has been reprimanded before for not representing his clients when he was legally required to, so any formal complaints will help.
the fundraiser OP linked is intended for hiring legal defenses for Meagan and the other protestors who were arrested, if we have enough we could hire a competent lawyer and no longer have her fate in the hands of a lazy bigot who still hasn't met her in person.
mr. lawyer my lawyers are advising you continue to reply to people this way
Reblogging this version to make it easier to send emails directly to Robert
Also here’s a reminder of Luttrell’s google maps listing. I recommend letting him know, publicly, how you feel about him
https://maps.app.goo.gl/jdGaoh3chYENDdnS7?g_st=ipc
This response is honestly batshit. Jfc he’s directly accusing his own client of committing a crime she hasn’t gone to trial for
That alone should be enough to get him removed as her defender.
Just to note, that the legal definition of libel/defamation in Texas is a written false statement to a third party that defames the plaintiff and has a requisite defree of fault regarding the statement's truth, and caused damages. Which this situation seems to fit completely! Some people should probably report him to the State Bar
anyways, if any of you want to make a complaint, here's the Texas State Bar complaint page. (it is also available in spanish!)
Español abajo Support DFW Anti ICE ProtestersOn the night of July 4th, local police arrested 10 people outside the ICE Prairieland detention
just wanted to add really quickly, this guy seems to have had extremely poor ability to represent his clients in the past as well.
Case opinion for US 5th Circuit IN RE: Robert E. LUTTRELL. Read the Court's full decision on FindLaw.
I’m not sure how it would come into effect, but there may be a case to make about possible incompetence towards the rights of his clients and how he represents them.
Try sending this to a trans friendly journalist. If you can't get him disbarred, ruin his reputation instead
"this trans woman CONDONES INCEST!" *looks inside* it's roleplay
"this trans woman is a PEDOPHILE!" *looks inside* this is either entirely baseless or it's roleplay, 70/30
"this trans woman is an ABUSER" *looks inside* she was the one getting abused here actually
we just have to harass and stalk one more trans woman bro, then The Community will be safe. trust me bro we just have to drive one more trans woman to suicide then everything will be good forever
Patricia Taxxon got banned.
I hate all of you.
@britts-galaxy-brain, @rambling-crerchur, @thetepes, @encyclopediamorbidica
It is a fucking crime that my friend got termed while your blogs are still active. I fucking hate all of you.
These four accounts have been harassing Patricia and anyone she's friends with for several months at a minimum. When she was 18 she was groomed into sharing nudes online by people 10 years older than her. At one point they coaxed her into masturbating in a voice call, and someone invited a 15 year old into the call, at which point they were told to leave and Patricia stopped until they left. This turned into an accusation that Patricia "masturbated in a Discord call with minors", intentionally, because she is secretly a pedophile. From there, these accounts have tried gathering additional evidence from her public posts; this "evidence" consists of things like "she feels bad when villains are humiliated at the end of kids movies'", "a friend drew a pic of her at the beach wearing a swimsuit" (the claim being that, as an ageplayer, all art of Patricia as a kid must be sexual), and "she reblogged SFW fanart from an artist who started calling themselves a pedophile 9 months after she reblogged it". They've gone as far as to accuse her of lying about DID and creating little alters so she can act out pedophilic fantasies in public, based on absolutely nothing, all while her sideblog for her little alter Nix was posting stuff like "i want to eat a burger" and "i love rubiks cubes". She has been dealing with this for five years. She tried arguing with them, repeatedly. But it didn't seem to matter, as her stalkers were using the logic of "Well, claim A doesn't mean anything on its own, but you must admit that it's very suspicious when you put it next to claims B, C, and D, none of which mean anything on their own either." Combine with the claim that she was encoding pedophilic intent into seemingly innocent posts, it is effectively a conspiracy theory, which is nearly impossible to falsify in the eyes of people who believe it. (So, why does she have stalkers? Why would people go through all this trouble? Part of it's transmisogyny; she is not the first transfem musician to be falsely accused of pedophilia. But it's also from people who've gotten into bitter arguments with Patricia, like about whether trans men face discrimination that isn't generally for being trans, stumbled onto the pedo accusations, and saw it as a way to add a moral dimension to their dislike of her. Which probably is also transmisogyny) I took the claims at face value too, I even made an RYM account with the intention of warning her fans there about her. If I hadn't checked to see her side of the story, I could have ruined her life. And now, by reporting her and removing her from the site, her side of the story is no longer visible.
This was extremely informative to hear more of the story I didn't know about. I didn't need to hear the details of her abuse story to know she was being treated unfairly, but some others will.
Here's a reblog, hope you all spread kindness
We have absolutely not changed since Chris-chan, holy shit.
"goddess" "matriarchy" "female wisdom" girl your civic rights
“But I didn’t and still don’t like making a cult of women’s knowledge, preening ourselves on knowing things men don’t know, women’s deep irrational wisdom, women’s instinctive knowledge of Nature, and so on. All that all too often merely reinforces the masculinist idea of women as primitive and inferior – women’s knowledge as elementary, primitive, always down below at the dark roots, while men get to cultivate and own the flowers and crops that come up into the light. But why should women keep talking baby talk while men get to grow up? Why should women feel blindly while men get to think?”
— Ursula K. Le Guin
I hate that the online trans community is being split along the worst possible lines now for trans women.
In one corner, we have people saying that transandrophobia is a force equal to transmisogyny, that trans women have to repent of their sins for being born male, and trans men/transmascs are Schrödinger's gender depending on whichever produces the most convenient talking point, generally talking down to or downplaying trans women's experiences, trans women are all white and that makes them evil, making trans women social pariahs forever over nothing, etc. etc.
In the other corner, we have embattled trans women and their allies going full radfem (including demonization of bisexuality and other historic radfem targets), trans men are ontologically evil for being men, transmascs are just soft women, everything is transmisogyny, everyone who isn't us is a terf, all cis people are evil, also let's ALSO make other trans women social pariahs over nothing, etc. etc.
Society does not advance by diminishing the struggles of others OR pedastalizing our own struggles. Would it really be so hard to adopt a mindset of offering grace and expecting grace from others? The only place this leads us is a reshuffled social hierarchy.
But of course, some people don't want to be equals with others. Some people just want to say, "I'm the Good Gender, they're the bad gender, and that's that."
Shit is so frustrating sometimes.
Hey so who’s saying trans women have to “repent”? Or that trans women don’t also get the schrodingers gender treatment? Or erasing trans women of color while vilifying trans women as a whole?
I just would like to know because I don’t want to be associated with someone who think trans women’s struggles need to be downplayed in order to uplift trans men. I focus on trans men’s oppression because that’s what I know and it’s what I feel doesn’t get nearly enough focus and attention. But this isn’t pie and it never has been. We do not need to fight over slices.
It's stuff like this:
Or basically all the stuff that led up to the creation of the term "transfeminized debt" - put simply the idea that trans women have incurred a debt to society during our time as privileged males and we have to work it off through deference to others.
Which is not to say that we never have shit to work on or toxic brain rot, but it's a very targeted way to bundle ostracism with potentially valid criticism of a particular trans woman's actions.

It’s insane how people get so pissed off when creators understand that fictional characters are imaginary and condemn harassing others over them and ships. Fandom discourse has rotted people’s minds so much that they’re enraged when other individuals, especially the creators of the media they like, recognize how stupid it all is and denounce it.
You should analyze why you’re so obsessed with fighting and harassing others over what they do with fictional characters instead of getting pissed at others for not engaging in the same behavior as you. Hell, maybe you could even direct your anger towards something that actually fucking matters.
As a trans woman and a writer. If you said these things when all I said was "my character is cis" I would kick your ass.
These are the infamous people Dana blocked. I only found 7, one didnt have any post connected to Dana so they aren't included. Two were mild complaints that didnt werrent a block imo.
Some of these people arent trans in any regard, others are.
A writer telling you that they didnt intend for something, isnt an attack on you, or your identity. If you think its an attack on your identity, you are deeply insecure.
And while im here, she didnt deny a transfem reading. She denied that she wrote Frankie as trans. Period. Not transfem, not transmasc, no denial. A fact. She was written cis.
If she lied, THAT would be shitty. Telling the truth is not shitty.
No one owes you ANYTHING. She made HER STORY. For HER. You get the privilege of seeing HER STORY. Get over yourselves.
And btw, maybe ask why youre upset that the buff white woman with a masculine nickname wasnt deadnamed by a trans actress in episode 1. Followed by never asking or considering if the Filipino woman could be trans.
And yes, I *do* love the HEADCANON that Frankie is trans.
> you watch one of your favorite cartoons except it turns out the creator blocked your trans friends and pretended not to notice when terfs celebrated
You are ascribing a level of malice to ordinary actions that is frankly unjustifiable. She blocked people because they were harassing her and being really weird, and that's completely normal. I think in your very understandable despair you have adopted a kind of entitlement to creators' time and energy that will only hurt you, them, and everyone else in the long run. The only way out of it is for you to take a pause, realize "wow this is not normal", and stop it.
Saying "Oh you being so quick to dismiss her as trans is dissapointing to see." is harassment now? Show any fucking harassment happening. You can use clearsky to see blocked replies. She blocked completely innocuous things and left terf replies untouched. Like you can see this for yourself why are you lying lmao 😭
Yes, when done in bad faith like it was. You're also calling me a liar in bad faith, probably because you need to feed some kind of narrative.
Stop. Take a second. Is anything you've said the most reasonable explanation for what happened?
