As I've said before, the conflation of Men's Rights Advocates and Trans Rights Activists is one of those maddening bits of feminist fantasy that I keep seeing repeated over and over again online with no grounding in reality: transwomen don't consider themselves "men" at all, so have no reason to consider themselves having any connection with the men's human rights movement.

Whereas, the MRAs tend to be conservative or libertarian-leaning, and so have no connection of any kind with the Left-wing Marxist identity politics that gave birth to the present gender ideology madness.

If you're a TERF, the MRAs are much more likely to be on your side on this issue than not. To lump them in with the "progressive" maniacs trying to put rapists into women's prisons is a nonsensical building and foolish attacking of a strawman that is weakening and hobbling your own cause. If you can step back from your hysterical and irrational man-hating fetish for just a moment, and try to see people as human beings instead of fantastical monsters, you'd find you had many allies who'd likely be willing to support you in your protests.

Posie Parker used to be a feminist and now is not; I used to be a feminist and now am not. But we both still believe in women's human rights and freedoms, and that it is imperative they be protected from predatory men. We both still believe that biological males should not be competing in women's sports.

And the thing is, the great majority of the population believes these things too, women and men: if you buy into a fictional narrative that tells you the great majority of the population hates you and wants to oppress you for some eternally-unclear reason, you are cutting yourself off from everyone outside your tiny echo chamber who might actually be eager to help you.

In reality, a great deal of Patriarchies have conscripted countless men and forced them to fight in wars, and gone out of their way to protect women, by custom and law. In fact, men are commonly expected to protect women with their lives.

There are very few situations where someone is expected to risk their life to protect someone else, and the protector's life is considered worth more than the protectee. Some feminists have tried to argue that women are just a possession.

When I talk about how intersectional feminism takes conversations and doubletalks with them, this is what I mean. Even if, perhaps, this wasn’t the intention of the OP and the post beneath them.

You can see and read and sympathize that Radical Feminism, sex-based gynocentrist feminism, talked about the class differences between males and females by sex and just did the sexual equivalent of racism, seeing themselves as the oppressed and at risk class by virtue of culture and history of the past, and the absolutist view of how Marxist dialectics view how classes interact. You know how that was just bigotry but “I’m an underdog so it’s okay and true and if you don’t listen you’re an oppressor in league with the ruling oppressor culture” made it okay.

So when someone talks vaguely about this terrible way to see men and boys and then turn it to, “stupid TERFs, they hurt men by attributing the social construct of GENDER’s terrible traditions and culture to SEX and THAT is why what they’re saying about boys!” it’s just close enough to, “discriminating against men is not acceptable when feminists do it in the name of equality or self-defense” that one assumes that’d be the logical thing to take umbrige with.

TIRFs (Inclusive Radical Feminists) will say the exact same thing that a radfem does about men and boys, they’ll just go, “Those stupid vaginaphiles really think it’s the twig and BERRIES that makes someone a boy, not some illusion about binary sex imposed by biological essentialism(negative) and patriarchal cultural oppressions! Just kind of glossing over the stuff about imagining men as removed from the biology for you and imposing that on the conversation, whether you’re aware they’re treating social constructionist gender theory/culture as the truth and norm, or not. You aren’t given the option to participate in their redefinition or not, they just culturally appropriate the terms and give them their own inflection that you cannot make them stop doing.
