Hi, Nell here ! I figured I should compile a masterlist for my Hunger Games AU series New Friends, New Enemies, since that seems to be what yâall do over here⊠and also it looks kind of fun ! I have a similar organization list on both my FFN profile (darthnell) and under the series description on AO3 (link). I will ideally be adding onto this as the series progresses; additionally, Iâd love to do character profile pages, so I might link them here when I do. Some of these stories have weebly blogs too !
The majority of this series takes place in an AU where the Mockingjay Rebellion failed (for reasons that may be explored in the future), with the exception of TRC, which is my take on the first Games (and is not at all compliant with BOSAS). A very minimal amount of canon characters appear in the series; itâs very much OC centric, and very worldbuilding-heavy (especially True Vengeance). It will stay this way because thatâs what I enjoy writing c:
Links lead to each story on AO3 !

As pride month starts I want to remind everyone that staff have been banning and censoring trans women unfairly for years and not to give these assholes any credit for anything ever. Do not forget to fight for your sisters, especially your sisters of color.
Imagine Grace defined his name as the elegance definition of grace and Rocky spends years thinking how fucking ironic this clumsy leaky space blobs name is.
Until Grace slips out a sentence along the lines of "could you give me a little grace here" and Rocky immediately points out he used a word wrong so Grace has to explain that yeah, grace means elegance but it can also mean mercy sometimes too.
And Rocky has to suddenly reconcile that the clumsy leaky blob that saved his life twice, that almost certainly doomed himself to come back for him, name is Mercy.
Further context: Durham city council (Reform UK) cut funding and support for Pride. The Durham Miner's Association and other trade unions raised enough money for Durham Pride 2026 to go ahead - a direct call back to when Lesbian and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) raised money for mining communities when Margaret Thatcher seized union funding during the miner strikes of 1984-85.
At the 1985 Labour party meet, the motion to support LGBT rights as a party was passed due to a block vote from mining unions.
Stephen Guy, the chair of the Durham Minersâ Association, said that when it became apparent Durham Pride was under threat, he took it upon himself to âencourage the trade union movement to step up and do the right thing, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the LGBT+ community [âŠ] They not only raised funds for us, but came to our communities, uplifted our spirits when they were down, and showed their solidarity.â
i hate it when game devs put âfixed several issuesâ in patch notesÂ
no. tell me what you fixed. i wanna know what the glitch was.
you know those patch notes that are like âfixed an issue where if the player sat in a bush for too long, theyâd become the size of a skyscraperâÂ
Adjusted value of Bees. Now that was a special one⊠because every item in the game had a minimum value, and a beehive was a container for bees, which each had a minimum value⊠which meant the moment one of your dwarves picked up a beehive, your entire fortressâ net worth skyrocketed⊠a value used in determining how powerful the foes that visit and try to murder you are.
Reblogging for the explanation of what âadjusted value of beesâ actually means, because I know several folks following this blog have been wondering.
Actually I lied itâs the one where after a major update werewolves and vampires started climbing the nearest tree and refusing to come down. It turned out that heâd given evil creatures the ability to sense each other, but forgotten to set a maximum range on it, so werewolves were aware Hell was underground and trying to flee by climbingÂ
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
If you find you're bored of the folk punk you always listen to, try out a rap album. If you only ever watch classic cinema or more grounded art films, check out a fast and furious movie or something. Or try reading a book if you only ever consume film or tv. Or comics. Or go to an art museum. You may not like whatever it is you try out, and I promise you don't have to like it, but I can guarantee that you can't subsist on a monoculture. Be open to experiencing new art. Even if it's bad. Especially if it's bad, actually.

There are many fun reasons to have a character avoid using guns, but I think "this otherwise-awesome fighter is a really terrible shot" is an underappreciated one. Yes, they're available in my setting and would work against my enemies. No, I don't have a moral code against them or a power that makes them redundant. I just can't aim for shit!
In general IMO the more badass and hypercompetent a character is, the more they're enriched by having one skill they're just absolutely hopeless at. Terrible shot, terrible liar, terrible dancer, no poker face, no sense of direction, can't drive, can't swim, can't cook, can't read, always broke, always late, always falls for a certain trick...
ââŠTo everyone outside of Two, weâre not heroes, orâor âlegendary warriorsâ, or whatever you grew up thinking, and if you canât wrap your head around it, then you donât fucking belong here.â
