While ships are at bay and the crews are turned in for the night you might come upon a glimmer among the sea. But do not mistake it for a reflection of the night sky. It may in fact be a mermaid laying in an endless sea of stars admiring the view.

Another piece before Mermay is over! Clearly I have been influenced by the stars lately. I still have one more in the works but it's taking a bit longer than anticipated. I'm hoping it'll be done soon though, and I can't wait for you all to see it!

Meet the Artist! Hi, hello! This post is way overdue, but I finally came up with an idea for this! There is also a little bit of perfect timing since I just spent my first weekend in Artist Alley at Quantum Con! It was a great experience, met lots of people, and I hope to keep attending conventions as an artist.

It also happens that I was able to reuse parts of a piece I'm working on, to make this a light effort piece to make, which was perfect, because over the last few weeks I've been experiencing computer arm in both of my arms/wrists/knuckles and haven't been able to draw because of the pain. Luckily it was not because of my art, sadly it was from my day job. The pain has started to let up, but I am taking things super slow to avoid a flare up, and working on creating a more ergonomic setup.

I'm so excited to start off #mermay2024 with this lunar piece! Space mermaids have been living rent free in the back of my mind for several years now and with the 2024 felt like the perfect year to bring them to life!

Late into the night movement outside of your bedroom window catches your eye. It's the girl from next door. While your parents reminded you before bed to not go outside, you can't help yourself from climbing out the window and following her into the dark twisted trees.

The forest is illuminated with blood red from the moon, the only light guiding your way over gnarled roots in wake of the girl.

Animalistic moans and growls echo throughout the woods. You increase your speed as goosebumps raise on your skin.

At last you reach the girl, bent over in pain in a moonlight clearing. You realize the inhuman noises are coming from her. A twig snaps under your foot and she whips your way.

In the heart of a hedge maze bathed in luminous moonlight, an elf and a vampire join in a private harmonious dance. The light graceful steps of the elf contrast the haunting glide of the vampire. Both elegant and mesmerizing, they intertwine in a delicate balance of their vastly differing worlds. It is a dance that speaks of forbidden connections and secrets whispered in the night.

I've been working on this piece for at least a month now, along with it I've been in a very supernatural mood. Shows, movies, stories, you name it I've indulged in it all. With this phase, the one I had back in highschool, and the ever persisting love of paranormal fantasy, I'm surprised I haven't created more vampiric art, or stories. Who's to say that won't change as I continue on my art journey 😉

I'm always looking for book recommendations so for anyone who has some favorite vampiric stories throw them in the comments!

That being said, I haven't come across anything where there is a connection between an elf and a vampire. Two sides of the same coin really...minus the bloodlust 😅 so I took it up on myself to make one myself with this piece.

🦄I finished this piece just in time for the Renaissance festival season! ⚔ I feel like elves, knights and stained glass perfectly fit the vibe of the fair!

I always love the fantasy vibes from those who dress up! My partner and I had a wonderful time despite the dreaded heat making us leave earlier than expected, the following day we were definitely feeling it. I also found a beautiful piece of art from a fellow fantasy artist! We had a wonderful chat and touched on her social experiment of letting people pay as they wish for her work.

Happy Halloween Eve! I just had to finally finish this art of ✨Sabrina Spellman✨ from over a year ago. If you were here from when I was streaming you might recognize this piece. Check out the last image to see how much she changed and how much my skills have improved!! I also have an Instagram reel showing how I went from the old version to the new version's base.

And yes, I am one of those people 👻 My low key goal was to finish this by the end of September 1st so I could use decorating as a motivator 🎃 Needless to say it worked! I'll be spending the rest of my evening decorating 😈
