My name is Rodney (Rod for short), I'm a researcher in the biological sciences studying population ecology with a graduate background in biology. I am also only interested in women, a gender critical feminist, a tomboy, and of Jewish descent. I've been homeless, in an abusive relationship, and have a chronic condition. I work with incarcerated people (teaching science/leading conservation programs), soldiers, and adult science students. So if any of these experiences ring true to you and you want to connect, feel free to reach out.
If you consider yourself to be gender critical, radfem, etc. please reblog this post! I am attempting to follow every radical feminist/gender critical blog on Tumblr. I'd like for this blog to be a resource for people who want to learn more about gender critical philosophy and activism and intend to post scientific articles, reblog insightful posts, and cross-post material from other gender critical spaces (such as Ovarit, mumsnet, Reddit, etc.).
Also please consider checking out Ovarit and signing up! I can provide you with a code upon request. You never know when this site may attempt to eliminate radical feminist/gender critical accounts, and even if you decide to not be active on Ovarit it can be a safe back up (otherwise it's difficult to obtain a code and sign up if you don't know someone from there already).
Finally, if you are not a radfem but are curious about radical feminism/gender critical thought and want to learn more about the philosophy (or just want to chat about whatever), still feel free to reach out. I aspire to be a safe person people can ask questions to, especially if you're new and unfamiliar with it or perhaps consider yourself neutral/liberal feminist/etc. and want to hear from an actual gender critical feminist scientist.
Ovarit is a project committed to women’s liberation that provides a platform for women-centered communities.
Women have the right to discuss issues which affect us. Public discourse now largely takes place online, but online conversation platforms are increasingly restricting the bounds of “permissible” speech and banning, silencing, and otherwise deplatforming women who want to talk about women’s rights and women’s issues on our own terms.
A world where women cannot discuss topics impacting our rights is a world where women cannot preserve or advocate for our rights.
Ovarit is run by a team of radical feminist women dedicated to safeguarding women’s ability to have community with other women and speak freely about issues that matter to us as individuals and as a class. We created this space because we, like those who seek to silence us, understand the power of women's voices and experiences. We are here to make sure they are heard.
The Ovarit community is made up of a broader group of people. Ovarit is open to women of all persuasions. Men are allowed to join some conversations, but must respect boundaries. This corner of the internet is one of increasingly few places, real or virtual, unapologetically dedicated to prioritizing and centering women.
While many of our subcommunities (called circles) are explicitly feminist, others are simply about topics that are relevant to women, and are not overtly political except to the extent that women's existence has been politicized.
Our Sitewide Rules and Sitewide Guidelines exist to help make this a positive community for women that also uplifts women as a class.
