Its a new year. I've been sick and burnt out from taking part in a coding bootcamp (and from the holidays but who isnt?). I'm slowly working myself up to working on my writing and art again. 🤞 Hopefully I can maintain some consistency this year.
So I've finally posted my first chapter of my MHA OC fic. I'm still a little nervous sharing stuff, but gotta take some steps forward if I'm ever gonna have the courage to share excerpts from the book series me and my beloved have been working on. Summary:
What if the League of Villains acquired a healer? A healer that has a past with the Public Safety Commission and spends their days doing vigilante work even when they join the League.
The joys of being a writer and having to redo your book outline 500 times because your characters decided to reveal new plot info while you were writing and now your outline doesnt match...
"why did you stop writing your story!!! never stop writing!!!!!!!!!!!" well you see the character had to drive one mile to a new location and the sentence "she got into the car" was quite simply my undoing
I feel this on a deep and personal level and I know you're making a joke but I do also want to take this opportunity to pass along the biggest small piece of advice I've ever gotten: You don't have to explain every step of how something happened unless something unusual/important happens along the way.
You can simply cut to the next scene when she's at the location, without explaining how she got there. People will fill that in. Now, if something important happens in the car on the way there, then sure, mention it. But if she's just driving? Nah. Delete that sentence, pop in a scene break, and keep writing.
I enjoyed taking part in this year's artfight, but I forgot how draining it could be. I only managed to get four attacks done out of the, probably, eight I had planned. Maybe next year will be better if I'm not too busy.
I was also discouraged by the lack of attacks and comments I had received...
So I figured out a whole bunch of notes for my Tomura x Reader College Au fic. It is a quirkless AU as well.
