always doing something wrong
something in art that ppl think is really stupid that i will always support is when they give a character a tail for no reason.. that shits awesome
thinking about Joowon and mothers. not just his own but also how he perceives others with their mothers. his disbelief and then chastened acceptance that Jaeyi would look for her mother regardless of how trapped she felt in the town. his initial misunderstanding of why Dongsik would need to play 'half mom and second dad' to Minjeong. his intentional and awkwardly cruel judgement of Dongsik's relationship with his mom. his distaste, distrust, and eventual deduction of Jeongje's complicated dynamic with his mother. and finally, his reborn acceptance of his own mother as a person beyond a memory. the person he tried to deny being was the boy who wanted to hold his mother's hand and then kept rejecting anyone's touch for years. and by holding Dongsik's hands and crying into them, that curse breaks enough to let him be more than just his father's legacy - to be someone who could reach out to people like his mom.
reread one of my favouriest jwds fics ((in my breath again)) and the quote "He keeps his hand wrapped around the bag of tangerines, only holding it a little away from himself otherwise it’ll keep bumping against his leg, and he doesn’t want to give Dong Sik bruised tangerines. He wants to give them to Dong Sik perfect and whole." has an honest to god kill count in my house so I went wow im feeling emotions about the way dongsik was going to kill himself in one of the beyond evil endings im sure listening to last words of a shooting stars will not affect me whatsoever yet here we are.......with another edit..........#tummyhurts
being as i am an idiot, and having been one my whole life, i just wanna say that i find it very easy to do nothing, and go nowhere. i eat chocolate late at night in the dark. i stand in the garden also. and i’m often waiting for something to happen. and i’m stupid.
i hope something good happens to me. i hope something good happens to you too. i hope something good happens to all of us soon
the woke mob is after you? dude that's a new one. I've never heard of that. which version of mine craft are u playign
it's normal and actually good for your health to see yourself in the most guilt ridden character you've ever seen in your life
(imagining the guilt ridden character I relate to being comforted or feeling miserable) it's good for them.this says nothing about me
swear to god I had people sending me death threats bc of this edit like god FORBIDDDD a girl imagines minjeong last moments being peaceful (quote unquote) because she heard dongsik, the person that had never failed to show up and help her out, make a mess right above her head and perhaps even calling her name....... perhaps that very sound lulled her to sleep, because she knew dongsik and she knew that he would never stop searching for her until she was found.......#mademyselfsadagain #yay!!
In honor of Pride month I want to share this comic I made about growing up queer. We live in a world that tries to cut us down, I am so glad I stayed around long enough to write stories about finding the light. If your looking for more Black, Queer, and Magical storytelling consider backing FLY on kickstarter
A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
I yet have to see any proof that this so-called “sex” is real and does in fact exist in our world to any tangible degree; and yet the stork exists and we can clearly observe it.
There's a third enola holmes? Who watches that enough to make them think they should keep making movies???
Ngl I watch those because I'm interested to see how white cisfeminism is going and... It's not doing so good y'all... They're still at feminism 101.
Also the exposition is still so bad like girl... You're at your third film with that gal and you haven't fucking gotten better???
Ma'am, I changed my legal name, got my licence and master degree and got on T while you were stuck in cisfeminism 101...
Like the thing with Enola Holmes is that it could be so so so good, if only the writers could manage to get past basic feminism. Enola Holmes is stuck in a society and doesn't even understand that she plays into that society in order to keep her privileges and continue her work.
And I'm sorry but the "Sherlock works for those with the means and I work for those in needs" is such a stupid ass fucking understanding of Sherlock Holmes? He does work for those with means, and do get a lot of money off of them, but he also canonically do things for those in needs. Dude fucking let a guy die so his step-daughter can be freed from his shit, he let a woman and her man get away with accidental murder because he could see that she loved the man.
And that is, overall, where Enola Holmes falls short. By wanting to show that she's different. She's better because she's a girl and she does things. And like... Sonic Boom said it already, but by continuing to point out that this is an exception you stay within the status quo. She's the "proud" kind of feminist who show around how different and superior to other women she is, and it's frankly one of the worst type of feminist you can meet because they don't actually understand the situation others are stuck in. And yeah lmao I guess the third movie is about to talk about that because she's so fucking disconnected she doesn't understand what she's doing with her wedding...
And yeah so you spend the entire fucking movies thinking "is she fucking stupid? How can she be as clever as her brother???" because when you read Sherlock Holmes you can see that he understood that he was in a society.
Like yeah he's excentric and weird and stuff, but he actually knows how to play into society and how people work in that society. He knows how to stay on the edge to benefit from society while trying to stay himself.
It's obviously much easier for him as a man but goddamn...
