I also listened to a podcast where Sam Witwer talked about the fight a little. He brought up that Vader's prosthetics are top of the line and well maintained. Maul's were put together by some rando mando who didn't think he was going to be alive for more than a year.
I saw this too, and my heart broke a little for Maul. The fact that there was no faith he would last, even though up to that point he had lived his life (without legs) through sheer spite and rage alone. Was really interesting, and almost felt like whoever did the legs underestimated him massively.

Because of how he’s clearly overcoming addiction while not making it obvious to the kids he’s raising. Because he’s trying his damn best to follow the rules of the Jedi, while still balancing a healthy relationship with Hera. Because he never ever disrespects women not once. Because of his trauma that clearly still affects him day to day and is so beautifully written in a KIDS SHOW?? Because he’s a wonderfully written disabled character. Because he’s trying his damn best to train Ezra.
