i dont think KNow Your Meme gets enough credit for how seriously they archive information. i use them as a historical research source constantly. i personally have never found any false information on their site, im sure they make mistakes and i just havent personally seen any because i havent happened to be well-versed in the particular event where the error was made, but the format of their research is extremely citation-heavy. this has been especially true of how they link to tumblr posts that originated memes etc. no one else is keeping track of this information in this way

living in America is about buying a five dollar Bluetooth speaker for your shower and immediately deciding not to use it after buying it because it is SO LOUD upon being turned on no matter what volume you have your device at and the suction cup on the back wont even stick to the tile properly so you put it in your bathroom cabinet hoping to take it out with the trash one day and then three months later even though the battery should be long dead it wakes you up in the middle of the night making a sound like it's trying to connect to your phone and you press the ONLY button on it several times it's so loud everyone can hear you it's so late at night but you get it. you soothe it. then ten minutes later it's back and you try this one more time, it makes a different noise when you turn it off this time, so maybe it'll stick. then you are woken up once more and you have had enough, naked but for your underwear you take the hammer you left by your bed not out of protection but sheer laziness after hanging up photos and take that pitiful thing that never served its purpose well and you place it on the still steaming hot concrete (there's a heat advisory warning) and hunched over that screaming beeping cartoon snail shaped creature the size of your fist you bring that hammer down over and over until the head pierces the plastic shell, the guts spill outward and you have to smash what you assume to be the battery until its some flat lump fused to the backing because you are so scared of hearing it scream from your trash can in the alleyway after all that you've done tonight. and then once the adrenaline fades you tuck yourself into bed knowing you won't sleep for a while. but it's done. it's done.
