i am well aware of the absolutely fucked up things eating disorders do to people’s brains, and i am sympathetic, but I still think acknowledging publicly that these celebrities are promoting looking emaciated on death’s door is important. Can you imagine being 13 and seeing this shit? Every celebrity event looks like a thinspo board, it’s awful.
People talk about women's bodies far too much; this is true. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be addressing the elephant in the room of insane weight loss and eds. it isnt fucking normal or healthy
i love the "grace somehow lives as long as an eridian" interpretations of the movie ending cuz i honestly think something like that could happen in cannon and it wouldn't feel out of place.
like they all are solomely accepting the fact that grace is going to die in like a scary amount of eridian years, and then as he gets to like 90 everyone is bracing for it, but he just...keeps aging. he keeps his mobility- if anything his back is getting worse cuz of the slightly increased gravity, and his health seems to be steady. on the day of graces 122nd birthday (the oldest a human has ever lived) the eridian scientists that study grace are like. hey. what the fuck. and grace is like ┐(´~`ˇ)┌
Look at this man with his gangly legs and the way he jumps into the jeep before it even stops he also looks like he's ready to pass out right on top of the patient
Do you guys ever think about Charles and Mulcahy and their relationship to music? Because I do. A lot...
Charles wanted to be a musician, but felt that he didn't have the talent. His deep love for music is such a huge part of his character, but he never even attempts to play because he thinks it's not worth doing if he can't be the best.
Mulcahy is objectively, canonically, not a good pianist. But he loves it!! He's always playing in the OC, he writes a song that he puts his whole heart into, and other characters know how much it means to him. Hawkeye sings along and Klinger sits on the piano and they have a good fun time!!
Charles looks down on Mulcahy, but do you think he was ever jealous of him? Do you think he ever wanted the confidence to play his heart out even though he wasn't good? Ouh.....
SPOILERS FOR GFA BELOW
At the end, Charles and Mulcahy both lose their ability to enjoy music in different ways. Charles can still hear it the same as always, but he'll never be able to enjoy his records again because they'll always be stained with the memory of the war. Mulcahy loves his music the same as always but he can never hear it again. How would they feel if they knew that about each other? Would Mulcahy envy the fact that Charles can still hear? Would Charles envy the fact that Mulcahy's memories are unmarred? Man...much to think about. Much to draw about, perhaps.
Every day I aspire to be as much of a pain in the ass as Hawkeye Pierce is. Viewers of old admired his outspoken heroism and shameless sexuality. Even more so, I love that he's fucking annoying: a compulsive attention-seeker, a cringey jokester, the relentless noodge. When he loves something, everyone will hear about it ad nauseam. When he hates something, he will throw a temper tantrum until everyone else hates it too. He's the sad clown but a confident one, with the rizz of someone who knows exactly what he's about. imo one of the most self-actualized adults ever to grace television.
Unprompted MASH reference here so charming and spoken so directly to my heart that ill forgive the inaccuracy given its technically mulcahy who actually does it and not with a ballpoint pen. Noah wyle there are feelings and they are for you.
