i swear to god if one more stupid fandom ruins a beautiful text post i am calling the police
I am obligated to reblog this again, because it is now Superwholock, and therefore perfection.
people need to remember that every tumblr post in 2012 was like this
These are the words of the first president of Israel – Chaim Weizmann, 1937:
Please, Zionists, tell us again how Israel was created as a safe haven for Jews or how it was a response to European antisemitism 😃
I can't make fun of him. I can't make fun of him. I can't make fun of him
I don't care what official translations say, I chose to believe "Et tu, Brute?" translates to "What the FUCK, Brutus?"
apparently it translates more like
Trains are cool, Cars are stupid, busses are somewhere in the middle. Ferries exist outside this dichotomy
what about trolleys ?
Thas like a flavor of train
Ocean liners? Planes?
Ocean liners like ferries exist in the boat space outside the dichotomy. planes are stupid too but I respect and fear their unnatural movements
also what is with people tossing out support for nonbinary people when the nonbinary person is a celebrity. as soon as demi lovato changed their pronouns from they/them to they/she everyone, including supposed allies of the community, IMMEDIATELY dropped the “they” part of “they/she” and started referring to them as a woman again. then when “unholy” by sam smith and kim petras won a grammy people talked about how kim petras (just her) made trans history by being the first trans person to win a grammy. and yes this is something to be celebrated, but is sam smith not also trans by virtue of being nonbinary? did they not also make history? or do you not see them as nonbinary because they’re amab and not feminine enough to cross the man threshold for you? and yes nonbinary celebrities are not going to see you referring to them as if they were cis but your trans acquaintances sure as fuck are
Should go without saying but never date a cop and christ never marry one. Rule of thumb if he's legally untouchable he's ethically unfuckable. You don't like that cop, you like buff men in tight clothing. I can show you more of those, better ones. Take my hand.
Hi guys. This post ain't about stereotyping random professions (farriers????), it's about how cops are effectively legally untouchable and if they hurt you, you have virtually no recourse. A quality that none of those other professions have. It's the inherent power imbalance of being bound to someone who can't be prosecuted.
The "firemen cheat" thing is actually a myth, union workers are both hot and professionally stable, paramedics are stressed out but otherwise fine, physical workers are not inferior to "thinkers" don't be fuckin classist, and "watch out for Farriers" is maybe the funniest thing anyone's ever said on this post.
like the fuck are they gonna do lmao
Having beef with the horse cobbler is objectively hilarious
doctors will be like yeah you have all the symptoms of this chronic illness and that may make it look like you have that chronic illness but actually you just have all the symptoms of that chronic illness for another reason thats unrelated and also i am not going to give you any help for your symptoms because you are not diagnosed with the disorder you have all the symptoms for. hope this helps
doctor: you have symptoms of symptoms disorder
patient: ok can i get treatment for symptoms disorder
doctor:
"your chart does list anxiety however so here's some anxiety meds for that clear case of tachycardia"
*crawling out of my own grave* It's been a weird night.
Because my last post about this didn't get much traction, I'll say it in a text post.
There is an upcoming global strike for Palestine. February 18th to the 25th. Talk about Palestine and other injustices, call your representatives and email them, boycott companies and limit spending during the week. Get your grocery shopping in now and only buy essentials during the week, please. Limit interaction on posts other than injustices around the world. If you can, skip work or school, though this is a privilege not everyone has.
Edit: It is 18th-25th not 18th-24th!! If you've already reblogged this, please reblog this version instead, edits don't show on past reblogs
When people look at abstract art and go "uh I could make that"
Fuck, I wish you would!
I wish you would let this inspire you. I wish that seeing a piece of abstract art would move you to self expression.
I wish you would go to the craft store, buy a cheap canvas and some cheap paint and let yourself play with color and form just to see if you can.
I wish that there were more amateur painters, trying their hand at geometric abstraction and color field painting. That would be so fucking cool.
"I could make that" should be a joyous revelation, not a snarky dismissal.
You could make that? Holy shit. please. Please make that.

Let art inspire art.
You could do that. You could. You should try. It'll be fun.
What's your Spotify wrapped song for the age you'll be next year?
Don't insult disabled people's bodies!
Do not call them gross or weird.
Don't tag people's real life bodies as body horror.
Don't gawk or stare.
Don't touch or grab others' mobility aids without permission.
Just treat us like you'd treat people. Because that's what we are. People.

Shout out to my Occupational Therapist for:
Trading fun/weird facts with me.
Helping me out with using my metalsmithing skills to make myself ring splints and for being willing to combine the brace making stuff she has with the metal pieces I'm making to create what will hopefully be the perfect brace for me to wear while I crochet.
Never batting an eye at my weird goals or hobbies.
Listening to me!
I called my right arm my hammer arm today, and she not only accepted that statement but knew what I meant.
Already alerting the physical therapist I'll be seeing in late October to the fact that they need to work together to figure out getting me a wheelchair that fits better and that has a good back and cushion.
Trying to get insurance to start covering my compression wear so I can get properly fitted good quality gloves & sleeves.
Going down rabbit holes with me but also getting me back on topic eventually.
Making OT fun.
For not judging me for talking to someone else with EDS in the waiting room for like 20 minutes after my appointment.
Not being mad that sometimes IBS and/or ADHD make me late and for being understanding about the 2 last minute cancelations I had after I was covid negative but still struggling too much with fatigue to drive safely.
Giving me movie recommendations.
Lastly, for being great at her job and helping me meet objectives we set.
She's great even though penguin x-rays now haunt my dreams.
So I go to the dentist and the appointment I had was not the appointment that I thought I was going to have (normal maintenance vs deep clean) so i warned the dentist "hey heads up I burn through dental anesthetics super quick and also I'd like to use as little as possible because putting the dental anesthetics in my body is the most painful part of the process unless I'm having a root canal or something" and she's like "Hmm. Okay. Is it just the injection site?" and I was like "no, it will feel like burning on the opposite side of my face and in my nose and eyes and stuff." And she was like "Hmm. Do you turn really red when this happens?" And I was like "I don't know, I can't really see myself when it happens." And she was like "are you willing to experiment with this a little?" And I was like "sure, no worries" and she injected me with one anesthetic and it hurt like a motherfucker and she and the assistant both went "OOOH" and she was like "Yeah you got really red right away let's try the other," and it was the same thing and then she was like "okay I think this is the one that will work" and it hurt a little bit but it was fucking NOTHING compared to the comprehensive full stabbing burning facial pain from the others and long story short the dentist was like "You're reacting to the epinephrine in these other anesthetics," which I guess is fairly common for people who have autoimmune disorders.
So I guess this is to say: If you get spreading, burning, stabbing pain when you are being injected with local anesthetics it's not supposed to do that and you should say something.
But the anaesthetic being injected into your gum is still supposed to hurt a lot right? Like, non-burning pain is normal? The big fuckoff needle going into your gum is still supposed to be agony yes?
Yeah, needles going into soft tissue hurts. That's why they'll sometimes offer you a numbing gel first. Or, if you're like me, liquid benadryl to swish around your mouth.
Also just going to add this here because I put it in the tags earlier, but it feels important enough to actually put in the main post: be aware not all dental polishes are gluten-free/wheat free.
I mentioned to my dentist that my mouth felt Weird after cleanings. Like allergic spicy weird, and he couldn't think what it was until he phoned the company that makes the tooth polish he uses.
Turns out all their flavored options have wheat/gluten, but it's hidden under the "natural flavor" on the ingredients. We switched to the unflavored polish, and I haven't had a problem since.
So, y'know, just in case you're having any other 'spicy' symptoms at the dentist and you have wheat and or gluten issues, that could be why.
