Insanity day 5
Today was pure cardio! Which was fun! I'm not great at strength because my balance is awful, but cardio I can do ;) To anyone wondering if they should give this a go, definitely! I read loads of reviews which said how hard it was and how you'd have to be in good shape because it's so intense and difficult. But if you know your own body, and know your limits it's fine. If I need to take a break, I do! And I love how everyone in the video has to take breaks. It's realistic. Rather than some fitness videos where the people look fresh as a daisy!
I woke up this morning and my legs hurt! Shows how much insanity works even if you don't put the full amount of effort into it. Walking to work has helped ease that off, except for my calves. I was a whole minute faster walking in today! Of course that means I was early to work... So it has its downsides.
Sometimes, the hardest part of becoming a parent is keeping a straight face... Just ask Jamie and Laura Newman, who (thanks to a rather relaxed attitude to contraception) find themselves about to have a baby. It's obviously a terrifying prospect for a newly married couple, but as long as they stick together they'll be just fine... right? They'd better because the path between falling in love and those first few baby steps is littered with obstacles. Featuring a hilarious cast of characters including an overbearing mother-in-law, a terrifying midwife and at least one chorus of mating humpback whales, Love... And Sleepless Nights is the hilarious follow-up novel all about what happens beyond the happy ever after. Falling in love with another person is easy, making a new one is where things get complicated. --- I have to start by saying I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first one. It was still funny, but the time seemed to jump really quickly, one minute Poppy is a newborn, and suddenly she's 6 months. Also the digs at popular culture just made the characters come off as pompous assholes. They did it in the first book as well, but somehow it was less annoying. I probably will read the 3rd at some point, but after I've taken a break and read something else. 5/10
Day 2 of insanity. I really didn't put all of my effort into this! I really didn't feel like doing it. But hey, a half assed workout is still a workout right?
Cruelty free hair care
Guys I’m looking for suggestions for cruelty free hair care. If you live in the UK / Ireland can anyone suggest something? Lush is a little on the expensive side, is there any more budget friendly products? (Preferably one for coloured hair)
I’m trying to be more responsible so any help would be awesome :)
There’s a brand called Argan Plus which do shampoo, conditioner and other hair products which are cruelty free. They’re still a bit expensive (about £10 a bottle) but they last longer than Lush and sometimes you can get a two pack for £15 if you google. Saw this post and it reminded me that izzybizzi also wanted to know this so here’s the info! Argan Plus + Luxury Wash Argan Oil-infused Cleansing Shampoo 236ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009GJDYAE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_q.0bvb158MV7W https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009GJDYAE/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_q.0bvb158MV7W
I just did the insanity fit test, and even though I tried to take it easy and not go crazy (still recovering from optic neuritis) it still managed to take all my energy. I burned 242 calories. But I didn't beat Daniel in any of my numbers! Should have taken a photo. He did the fit test this afternoon and left a space on the chart so I could write my results down too. I found out today that Zumba is starting again April 13th which I'm so happy about! I miss it so much.
This morning I actually got myself organised and left early enough to be able to walk to work. I have to drive in, because it’s a 25 minute journey (on average) but my mum lives a 5 minute drive from my work. So this morning I got to Mum’s at 8:40 and walked down. I’m glad I allowed myself the extra 5 minutes because it took 18 in the end. Google maps must think I’m a speed walker! It told me I'd only take 15.
Walking back was a lot harder because it’s mostly uphill, and my shins hated me for it. I forgot how much pain my shins used to give me while exercising 😩
But, it does mean that I burned 230 calories today which is more than my morning porridge, so not a bad result!
Dumbledore don’t give a fuck.
Slay them Buffy. Slay them all.
this is amazing.
Reblog if you're any type of health blog
I’m looking for fitblrs, yoga, yumblr, weight loss, weight gain, runblr, self love, studyblr, etc. I’m looking for more motivation and inspiration in my life! I want to follow as many as I can!
Had such a good time in Dublin! Met @sineadycady , tasted some Guinness and whiskey and ran out of time to be honest! Will definitely be returning 💚🍀💶
I’m on a dechox for March! It’s in aid of the British Heart Foundation, and I’m iff chocolate for the entire month of March. Join in or donate if you can! I’m on holiday next week so it’s going to be a challenge.
I’ve already struggled as I usually have a little packet of dried fruit, raisins and chocolate for elevenses, and sometimes a low cal hot chocolate in the afternoon at work. Both of those are out!
If you want to donate I would appreciate it! http://www.justgiving.com/pantsformers
Sometimes, the hardest part of finding love is keeping a straight face... For Jamie Newman, being a single guy isn't proving to be much fun, especially when confronted with a sexually belligerent divorcee and a goddess so far out of his league she might as well be a different species. Mind you, being a girl in search of love isn't a bowl of cherries either. Just ask Laura McIntyre, who's recently contended with a horny estate agent on a quest for light relief and a rabid mountain bike enthusiast with a penchant for lycra that leaves little to the imagination. When Jamie and Laura bump into one another (quite literally) it looks like their luck may have changed - but sometimes finding the right person is only the start of your problems... Love... From Both Sides is a warts-and-all romantic comedy for everyone who knows how tricky the quest for love can be. --- I bought this immediately after finishing 'Fat Chance' because it was a fantastic book, and I wanted to see what else the author had to offer. I didn't like this as much as Fat Chance, but it was still a really funny read. Definitely worth a look if you want some funny, light reading but something different to the usual contemporary novels aimed at women. 7/10
