I've been needing a holiday, so I was looking for something fun to do right in my art comfort zone

That and looking back at the Avatar novels... well, what's more in my comfort zone than a bunch of busts?

I absolutely adore designing big sprawling families and figuring out the resemblances. The Avatar style is one of the biggest inspirations for my art style so it's fun trying to turn it back around

Ok not to get overly cinema-sins here but the lack of Zuko’s chest scar in the new movie is such a nothing-burger that people desperate to criticize anything are attacking.

For one, Katara healed it nearly immediately. He had it bandaged up moments after the fight and likely got constant healing of it afterwards.

Second, this wound was different than Aang’s. Aang’s was a straight shot to his back that was sustained for several seconds. Zuko’s was a misdirect of lighting from Azula’s attack, which was more internally damaging than externally.

“It’s super important to his arc,” they cried, not realizing the giant scar on his face was already a huge symbol for what Zuko would sacrifice to do the right thing. His actions of defending Katara with his life are way more important than him maintaining scar tissue 12 years after the fact. Crazy how this fandom needs a literal physical reminder of the importance of these characters (like a statue…ugh…) rather than just seeing and remembering how powerful their actions were.

Also, it could’ve just been some art oversight. It’s hand-drawn animation. It happens. No one was probably trying to make some profound statement or erase part of Zuko’s arc by doing that, no matter how schizophrenic of a meta you write about it.

I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.

a swt waterbending technique taught from master to student as part of a blessing for the first summer hunt. It's arranged like a circular dance and traditionally performed with gloves. The dance starts with one of the benders on the floor, before rising and both benders circle each other before linking arms and closing the circle with the animals surrounding them.

I'm kinda late to Kuspuk Week 2026 by @mostly-mundane-atla, I've been wanting to participate for a few years now while I was lurking at Tumblr and decided it was time! For Day 4, "Easygoing" I like looking at and drawing food so I decided at Gaang eating some traditional meals and snacks together. Hopefully I'll be able to draw more stuff later. The menu is alajuks (fried dough), neqa (salmon), muktuk (beluga) and akutaq (ice cream).
