Just reblogged a post from 2012 - so in 2026 I’m going to ask the question again….
How many Supernatural fans are STILL on Tumblr??
Reblog this once - let’s see how many of us are still here!

Worldcat is my bestie and my one true love!! Not only does it tell you what library a book is at, but it also price compares different used book sites against each other for easy view! It's how I got Tarot For the Master for $10!!
Oh, and since I have your attention: z-library (books and textbooks) and sci-hub (gatekept scientific journal articles.) I just ripped a textbook for class off z-library and snatched a required reading from sci-hub. Life is good and education should be accessible at every stage and station of life.
information wants to be free
Unmute
I've posted this before, but every time I've seen it since I can't stop watching it repeat over and over. Like the man says, "Unmute"
Mutuals do this.
this guy is so unbelievably good at making music videos of himself dancing with himself in different outfits
I constantly think about the quote (literally no idea what it’s from) I read once about how teenage girls want to fuck their band guy idols because it’s the closest they can get to wanting to BE their band guy idols. Like damn… way to recontextualize my entire adolescence with 1 sentence
this is the quote
'#could we attribute the quote please?' i was half asleep & forgot, sorry, someone added an Archive link at some point though
No but the Hunger Games really said "what do you hate more- the atrocities or the people who commit them against you? Because like it or not there IS a difference. If you hate the people who commit acts of pure evil more than you hate the acts themselves, what will stop you from becoming just like your enemies in your pursuit of justice? What will keep you from commiting those very same acts against THEM when the opportunity arises? And what then? The cycle of pain and suffering will never stop. Round and round it'll go. Nothing will ever change. But. BUT. If you hate the atrocities. If you hate the vile, senseless acts MORE than you hate the people who did them to you. If you are able to see that evil is evil regardless of who does it... The cycle ends with you. No, you may never get justice. But you will never be responsible for making others, even your enemies, suffer the same crimes you have. The atrocities will never be committed by you, never by your hand. And that's the way you change the world. It's the ONLY way" and that's why I am sure it will never stop being one of the most relevant works of fiction ever created
I’m sure I can’t think of any reason that sentiment is relevant today. Coming up empty.
a non-selective plan for the resurgence of fic commissions
Too many children in the comments like ‘I think authors should be able to share ko-fi links :) it’s just nice’ and ‘OP is just a cop.’ Homie, OP is trying to keep AO3 fully functional without interruption. I will report your ass, too, because I value fic artists and our freedom of expression and my audience and our shared history far more than I value the few bux you wanna make on a commission.
It is not hard to link to your Tumblr or Twitter with a vague message like, “If you’re looking for my other works or other ways of supporting me, go here: link.” I have had people buy me coffees after enjoying my fic and asking where to support me. I threw up a link to my Tumblr and people cared enough to follow it. They were fully understanding when I explained in the comments that they could not commission me and I could not link them directly to any donation platform, but they could go to xyz link to read more. And they did! Nobody has to put AO3 directly on the firing line.
Go ahead and commission independently. Just do it anywhere else except on AO3. And then don’t come crying to the community when you, personally, get a C&D from a massive corporation.
AO3 is our bullet shield. Tumblr will pull your shit down. Wattpad won’t fucking protect you. LJ and FF.net already sold our asses for one (1) corn chip. AO3 is trying to protect us, you goddamn lemmings.
If you cannot follow the rules that protect fanspaces, you do not belong in our fanspaces.
The only people who misunderstand this are doing so intentionally and maliciously. Do yourself a favor and block the infants who think this isn’t a big deal.
Please remember that this ALSO INCLUDES FANDOM CHARITY AUCTIONS.
When you post charity auction fics, DO NOT note that they are commissions in any way. You can note them as “here is my thank you gift to X for such-and-such event” but please please PLEASE do not list them as commissions.
I think a lot of younger people are seeing this as a moral panic by OP. These are NOT being laid out as moral injunctions! This is not about being good! This is about covering your own ass and keeping fandom away from larger-scale legal trouble. No one is saying “If you break the rules you’re BEING BAD!” They’re trying to tell you “breaking these rules is DANGEROUS for yourself and potentially others as well!”
words cannot express how obsessed I am with the Keira Knightley/Jack Davenport audio commentary on the first Pirates of the Caribbean film
IT IS THE BEST THING
Writing is a process that often undergoes heavy edits… that includes responding to feedback.
I had no idea this post would resonate with so many people. I let my vitriol surrounding several comments I received on a recent update get to me and it spilled out into .gif form and it’s now morphed into the most widely shared thing I’ve ever posted. So many comments and tags have said things along the lines of, “This was why I quit writing” or “This is why I hate writing fanfic.” And that’s soul crushing to hear, but I can relate.
But while there are some crappy and entitled readers, there are also many brilliant ones and I’m so grateful for them. The huge response to this post made me go back and skim through the comments on my old stories, and comments like the one below are about half the reason some of those stories got finished, even if it was months later.
Comments like these are so rare, but when they do come up, they leave me staring at my computer screen, drumming my fingers on the keyboard, struggling to convey my feelings about how their words have touched my heart. These are the comments that take the longest amount of time to respond to and the ones that cause me to wear out my backspace key the fastest.
It’s easy to complain, but it’s literally just as easy to praise, so I just wanted to take a moment to recognize all those dear and dedicated readers who have propped me up when I wanted to quit. Readers like you are why I keep writing, and why I even feel honored to do it on rare occasion.
And fellow writers, keep your heads up if you can. :)
The first type of comment breaks my heart, both as a writer and a reader. It’s why I’ve been tempted to quit a few times, in the rare moment when I’ve gotten them.
The second type is seriously the best and I try to leave comments, even short positive ones, for almost every fic I read and enjoy.
calling women "porn addicts" for reading romance novels is so fucking stupid i'm sorry. grow up
romance and erotica may not be "high art" but they are literally harmless - unlike the porn industry, you know for a fact that no one was harmed or exploited in the creation of it, and they're often the safest ways for women and teenage girls (because yes, teens have always read "spicy" books, i remember a section in BEVERLY CLEARY's memoir where she was talking about how she and her high school friends would pass around a paperback romance novel with the sex scenes dog-eared) to explore their personal sexual fantasies in private and without risk to themselves or others. i am so tired of the pearl-clutching and whining and bitching and moaning about this stuff. yes the ads for romance novels with the ao3 tropes all over are annoying but someone reading a book that's been advertised in an annoying way....who CARES??? grow up and mind your own business
if a woman wants to read a book with explicit sex scenes in it that's between her and her pussy and nobody else. get over it.
Norman Gary Finkelstein, for those asking.
I have no idea who Lukas Gage is, but I’m gonna get the ‘they don’t owe you shit bat’ and protect him with a mighty swing.
So, I just googled him to see if I saw him in anything, and he filed from divorce from his husband in 2023. So, he’s out now, but he still owes no one anything about his personal life including his sexuality.
Say it louder for people in the back. No one ever owes anyone else information about their sexuality. Behavior like demanding only openly gay people play gay roles and this sort of shit can result in forced outing and that is something no one deserves. No one.
quick protip: if someone is crying or freaking out over something minor, eg wifi not connecting, can’t find their hat, people talking too loud, do NOT tell them how small or petty the problem is to make it better. they know. they would probably love to calm down. you are doing the furthest possible thing from helping. people don’t have to earn expressions of feelings.
I’m just gonna put it out there that if someone’s freaking about something small, they’re really freaking out about something big that they’re trying to deal with, or something long term that’s been building up, and that little thing is the straw that broke the camel’s back.
I don’t know, try and give people the benefit of the doubt. Don’t be the next straw on their broken back.
