Highly suggested to read this fanfic first since this is kind of a continuation.
MC forgetting everything about the devildom (the brothers, the demons, even the exchange students) after coming back to the human realm.
Genre: Fluff, but angst ending
You deciding to visit a newly opened café after work/university to de-stress and have a break from all your workloads.
Entering the café, you sat on one of the chairs. A guy came up to you wearing the most polite smile.
"Hello, what can I get you?" You saw that his name was 'Simeon' as written on his nametag.
He left to get your order. While waiting, you observed the inside of the café. It looked really cozy, and though it's your first time going there — there's a sense of comfort and familiarity, as if you've been there before.
While observing, you felt several gazes around you. As you looked around at other tables, you saw a group of seven guys near your table. They looked like a unique group of people. Although their stares made you a bit uncomfortable, you gave them a polite smile.
One of the guys seemed to scold the others, telling them to stop staring weirdly at you. Which you appreciated as you averted your gaze from their table.
"Hello! Do you want these cookies?" A sudden voice beside you made you jump a bit. You looked, and it seemed to be a child wearing a cute hat while holding a tray of cookies.
"Thank you, how much are these?"
"It's free! You're actually our first costumer so you get freebies!"
What a sweet child. You thought.
"But...the ones in that table, are they not costumers?" You pointed at the group of seven people near you.
"Uhm..they don't count! That guy wearing blue is the manager of the cafe, he just brought his brothers with him. They don't count as customers! Now take these cookies, it's part of the freebie, they're yummy. I promise!"
You wanted to question him further, but he was smiling so sweetly at you that you couldn't say no.
As you took your first bite, it felt like heaven. These cookies were the best you've ever tasted. And weird enough, it tasted familiar too.
"Hi, here's your order! And I see Luke here made you sample his cookies." Just in time, Simeon brought your drinks.
So the child's name was Luke, "Yes, it's really delicious. Thank you, Luke. And Simeon too." You gave them your friendliest smile.
The two smiled back at you. And for split second, you thought you saw them wearing different clothes, and you were in a different place. A classroom, of some sorts.
"Is something the matter?" Simeon asked you.
You shook your head and told him it was nothing. You were probably just sleep deprived. As the two left your table, you enjoyed your drinks and the cookies — courtesy of Luke.
You finished your order, and as you get up to leave — Luke ran towards you as you were about to get out of the café.
"Wait a minute! You still have some freebies!"
This time, you were wondering why there was another. Is being the first customer that important? Still, you felt bad saying no to Luke, so you asked him what it was.
"Here!" He gave you a book.
"Simeon is also a writer, so he wanted to give you a copy of his book. Please accept it!"
You were flattered that a writer chose you to give a copy of a book to. And although you felt like they were giving you too much, you accepted it out of politeness. And, it's as if you can never say no to Luke, even though you just met him today.
"Ahem." You heard another voice.
"Take this, it's from us. We're grateful for you being this café's first customer." It seemed to be the manager that Luke was talking about. He's really tall, you thought.
He handed you a paper bag which seemed to have a variety of items inside.
"Open it after you get home. And, you can't say no. It's part of the first costumer freebie."
It's like he read your mind, you were about to say no because you felt bad accepting all of those freebies. But with the stern look he's giving you, it's like your hand moved on it's own to accept the paper bag.
His name was unusual. It's not everyday you meet someone named after one of the most famous demons in the bible.
You thanked him, and Luke too. You also sent your regards to Simeon. You looked past Lucifer, and his companions seemed to be smiling at you as well.
You gave them all a polite bow as you were very thankful for all the freebies and the comforting experience in the café as well.
As you walked away, you looked back one final time at the café. As you read the name, you can't help thinking that it had a very odd yet pretty name.
Angel's halo. As the café was called.
Sitting in your bed, you were holding the book Luke gave you. You were curious about the story as you read its title.
The Tale of the Seven Lords. This book seems cool. You thought.
You were about to open the book when the paper bag caught your attention.
You remembered the manager telling you to only open it when you got home. Which was really odd.
Still, you took a peek at its contents. Your eyebrows furrowed as there were cards and letters inside the paper bag.
It's a very unusual freebie. Usually you would get mugs and keychains as freebies from stores.
You began to read the letters. All of its contents was about wishing you well, each seemed to be written by a different person as you noticed the differences in the way each letter was written.
It was all so confusing. The weirdest part was that your name was on each of the cards. Yet there were no names from who it was from. Except for one letter. At the end, there was one written. From, Lucifer.
"Be happy, MC. Keep smiling as you continue your life. We'll be watching over you. Always. I love you, we all do."
Suddenly, you felt a single tear running down your cheek. A pang of pain in your chest. A longing feeling deep inside your heart. Yet, you had no idea why.
You made up your mind to return to the café to ask them about the letters. Several questions clouding your mind as you run all the way to the café.
However, as you arrived to the place the café was supposed to be, there was nothing.
No, nothing. Not a building in place.
Out of confusion, you asked a nearby person about a café called "Angel's Halo."
Their response confused and shocked you. There was never a café called that name.
And there was not a single newly opened café in your city.
