Love this!
In my case, the only note that could appear is "BlackandPinkUnicornGuardian passed away, she just left me her stories and her books", though! :-D
No pressure, no stress
Work on more than one at once. Ddifferent stories, different scenarios, different moods, different moments in the timeline. There is no need to insist if a chapter is not flowing the way you want it to. Give it a rest. Breathe. If you’re lucky, a day or two will be enough. Remember, this is fan fiction; you’re not writing to win a literary award, just to keep the fantasy alive, for yourself and for the readers who follow your stories. No pressure, no stress. Trust your inspiration. As I often say, trust your muses.
Welcome, Sandra! I should revive my multi-fandom blog even though it used to be mainly Jorah x Daenerys. Maybe this is the way?
Also, we should promote The Sound of Music fics here!
Edelweiss, November 2025
I enjoyed colouring these two extremely attractive people. The screenshot I used as a reference was blurry and dark, I brightened what I could while trying to preserve the magic of the moment. Christmas feels like the right moment to post this. I hope you get to watch this movie and feel a twinkle of hope light up your heart... And realize there is nothing hotter than a man tearing a Nazi flag in pieces.
writer culture is having so. many. ideas. for this really cool series and you have the perfect lines and titles and everything but you don't have time to write it and you're terrified that you'll lose your hyperfixation and never actually finish the series
Hyperfixation x escapism for me, but... same!
CHRISTMAS WITH THE VON TRAPPS: ARE YOU READY?
Do you want to dive into the authentic, sweet, humorous atmosphere of a European Christmas before consumerism? Read about Austria-Hungary, Austria, Italy, England? Meet the Austrian-Modenese Admiral Rodolfo Montecuccoli and his family, or a rather angry Krampus?
I'm sharing a completed side-project: an 8-chapter collection of Christmas vignettes from 1909 to 1945. They can be read as standalone stories; however, they are actually outtakes from my historical saga, "Remember tomorrow". The stories are all set in the “Sound of Music/Tutti insieme appassionatamente/Meine Lieder, meine Träume” fandom, but everyone can read them.
Eight separate, emotionally rich vignettes spanning four decades (1909–1945), charting the Trapp family's Christmases.
Links to AO3 and ff dot net below, or QR code/links in the image.
The stories:
From the multicultural traditions of the old Dual Monarchy in Austria-Hungary, to classic Austrian traditions, to the austerity of wartime England, these chapters will bring you several different traditions, love and cuteness, music, and unwavering faith. Get to know Georg as a young officer, watch Georg and Maria navigate their passionate marriage, witness the Trapp siblings' fierce bond, and discover the complex history behind their famous resilience.
Skip chapter 1 if you only want Georg x Maria. Skip chapter 7 if you only want Christmas fluff. The summary and notes will help you!
The story and the single chapters can be read as standalones, however, these are the Christmas outtakes from my M-rated Trapp saga “Remember tomorrow”.
Chapter 1: His first Christmas as husband and father (This is Georg x Agathe, but there is some interesting Austria-Hungary stuff, and also Liesl at almost eleven months being adorable)
Chapter 2: Their first Christmas together (calendar entry - leave feedback on one of the sites if you loved it! Love, the family finding its legs, mischief, and lots of Austrian traditions)
Chapter 3: Their first Christmas with Anna (calendar entry - leave feedback on one of the sites if you loved it! Beware of adorable Trapp children!)
Chapter 4: Their first Christmas with Liesl married (the same cuteness as in chap. 2 and 3 + Liesl's marriage + something for the Baroness's fan club!)
Chapter 5: Their first Christmas in England (cuteness and humour despite the exile)
Chapter 6: Their first Christmas at war (cuteness and humour - Phoney War, almost nothing happens)
Chapter 7: A Christmas in pieces (love and tradition are mixed with drama here. It's actually a great chapter, but only for those who can stomach a sadder chapter with grief and resilience, set in 1940)
Chapter 8: A Christmas at peace (the war is over, Anna will debut in two months, and everyone is looking forward to Georg being the usual protective father: a great way to conclude this story in 1945).

Why does the entire Trapp family get punished by the Krampus? And how do they end up in England later after the Anschluss? 🎄
A little festive 're-indexing' for this collection of completed historical vignettes. Perfect for those who want their Christmas fluff with a side of historical accuracy and anti-fascist grit.

The Sound of Music really did teach me a lot from a young age about the importance of knowing the implications of your boyfriend's political beliefs, his moral character, and choosing someone you're aligned with, not just someone who's good at dancing with you. Also, to be wary of blonde men.
THIS
Also, happy 60th anniversary, The Sound of Music! This week, we are celebrating here in Salzburg
Also, shameless self-promotion: in my fic
Remember tomorrow (Tears for remembrance, tears for joy)
I explore the topic of aligning with your partner (and also expand Rolf's character and modus operandi to explain how NS seduced young minds). A (very long) story for history lovers who enjoy romance, comedy, drama, and tragedy all together. Read it on AO3 and ff dot net! Feedback welcome! Also, currently looking for artists to illustrate a few pivotal scenes (paid, obviously). https://archiveofourown.org/works/65389510/
"I asked ChatGPT--"
Well I asked George Knightley and he said it was better to be without sense than misapply it as you do.
I mean, if I ask a Facebook group (yes, I am in THAT demographics) about something, it's probably because I want us to share our experiences. Especially if it's a group for immigrants!
But... no, smartasses copy and paste AI answers. I am reporting them all. Same with all the fake AI pics of fake films or AI editing of historical photos, or AI slop of any kind.
A pity I never used Jane Austen's quotes to argue with those people. I should try. "An unhappy alternative is before you" would be a dope beginning to ban someone using AI for no reason at all...

Do you guys ever think about how much Darcy's anti-people-pleasing personality was shaped by growing up with Wickham? Sure, Darcy was probably naturally more introverted, but when you grow up beside the kid who everyone loves for being so open and friendly and charming, but you know he's hiding a selfish personality, you'll start to see changing your personality to please other people as lying. Manipulative. If you don't want to be like that, it's easy to over-correct in the other direction, until you're neglecting basic courtesy for fear of being dishonest.
Darcy sees Bingley being genuinely kind and courteous, but that's Bingley's natural personality--Darcy can't pretend to be what he's not. When Wickham comes and everyone falls in love with him, it's just more proof of his dishonesty. Darcy's unpopular, but at least he's truthful. He can be proud and aloof on the moral high ground. He thinks he's being true to himself, but he's actually warped by Wickham. He's so afraid of being a scoundrel that he's not able to act like a gentleman. He rejects what Wickham is, but in the process, fails to become what he wants to be.

Why does everyone seem to forget that Nine/Rose is the reason for Ten/Rose? I just saw a post about someone who didn't like Ten/Rose being romantic as if it appeared first, as if the reason that Ten/Rose is romantic is because he suddenly changed and fell in love with her. He didn't. Nine loved her first. Nine is the entire reason Ten loves Rose. Nine. Nine was head over heels in love with Rose. Didn't have to mean he was sexually attracted to her because you can be in love without being in lust. RTD pitch for Doctor/Rose was that he was in love with her. Full stop. Love is fantastic, ya'll. The Doctor loved all of his companions in his way. Every single one. Five died in order to keep Peri alive, not that he was in love with Peri but he loved her. You wouldn't sacrifice yourself for someone you didn't care about. There's a reason the Doctor has two hearts. You can't hold as much love as he can with just one.
Since I just published the wedding (ch. 14), I thought I’d share my fic again. This way, readers who love to see Georg and Maria get together can enjoy the complete story. And for those who love historical fiction, now's a great time to jump in, as the historical and political aspects will become more relevant from the next chapter onwards.

From the aftermath of the Great War to the vibrant Sixties (with a glimpse into 1995), the unforgettable story of Maria and the Captain takes on new dimensions. Two fiercely romantic and free-spirited souls forge a love that blossoms amidst historical upheaval, raising an equally romantic and free-spirited family. Prepare for laughter that warms the heart and tears that cut deep. Genres: historical, comedy, romance, drama, tragedy, war. Fic title from Iron Maiden’s song. Hey, I just published chapter seven, the chapter with the ball at Villa Trapp... which, apart from the Ländler, is nothing like film canon.
Feel free to check my story. Updates are almost daily, since a good part of this long story is already written!
