Remembering Kentaro
I’m sure you’ve all heard the sad news of Kentaro’s death. I’ve seen quite a few of you leaving comments about it. I’m hoping that this blog will serve as sort of informal memorial to his work. Even though I only share the soft moments here, the entirety of Berserk is something to behold.
Kentaro was a wonderful artist and a talented storyteller. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and fans.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Kentaro.
I'm heartbroken
Thank you so much for the magic of Berserk.
For Guts, Griffith, The Band Of The Hawks, the amazing music, the magical story...it all felt like some deep, medieval fairy tale like sweet dark dream to me. no one could ever replace your one of a kind imagination and creativity.
I personally especially liked griffith. i felt he was a big part of the whole magic, seemingly weak but such a strong and beautiful character, torn between his true love and his dream.
and also the strong sympathetic hero guts, in his own down to earth simple way, was struggling to find his own path in life, find a place just like griffith... giving us such deep insights along the way.
i actually think they were so much alike and you portrayed their development beautifully. they both go through so much and helped me personally to grow stronger as well. i really wish i could see them reconcile and reunite one day. I truly think this is what would have eventually happened. since you said you wanted to give berserk a good / happy ending.
whenever i feel bad, i think of how strong they were and never gave up, or listen to berserk music. it's strangely calming and it works every time. man, my mind is falshing back with so much memories of the whole series right now (the original 1997 anime was the best imo, i got to know this series since the 2012 anime ovas which were also good). damn, i feel like rewatching this all again now, it helped me and kept me entertained during difficult times.
Thank you for writing these inspiring characters. this atmosphere. these complex morals and issues. you were a really talented story teller and people stayed tuned for every chapter. this is tragic. I'm glad i was able to witness all of this magic and this legend and it changed my life in a positive way. It will also inspire me for the future. I'm sure you had a lot more stories to tell and that it would have been awesome. And that the finale would have been epic.
I really appreciated you not going mainstream and always sticking to the roots... berserk was one of the very few suriving ongoing mangas or animes of that kind. You gave us a great time.
...berserk is an iconic anime that i will cherish and remember forever in my heart.
to give you an idea, how berserk probably could have ended. here's berserk: 20 years later. this is what i now will imagine as the ending:
berserk 20 years later: king griffith looks asleep on his throne, forever young, guts with his lowered sword either here to serve him/ help him/ take revenge on him, casca and everyone else has aged.
i can't really figure it out and would gladly appreciate fanfictions.
“The reward for ambition too great… is self destruction.” – Guts
this hurts now even more, omg. it had a somewhat meditative aura or ambience... the quiet emotional moments in this show were touching af. it's so deep on a different level that makes you think about human existence.
this unique series really got under my skin. And it will now forever remain a mystery.
In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above? At least it is true that man has no control; even over his own will.
I'm heartbroken that i will never find out what would have happened in the end. it's so frustrating and sad. I think we stood right about before the finale. I still can't believe this. It's such a pity. I really wish someone could carry on your legacy and finish this anime.
I'm still shocked and very sad. i think i won't get over it very soon. You wrote anime history. may your soul rest in heaven. God bless.
Your fans will love and dearly remember. you and berserk will be missed. I really appreciate your work.
Thank you for all of this.
Rest in peace.
Is Griffith blushing there?
My, it's so painfully obvious that Griffith is in love with Guts...
They should have been a canon couple.
Griffith is with no doubt the biggest yandere in anime history...
Some scenes are simply too painful for me to watch...
And Griffith should have originally been a girl named Frikka.
Find more information here:
Frikka is a young female that appears in Berserk: The Prototype. 1 Appearance 2 Personality 3 Story 4 Notes A fragile looking young girl, Fr
Look who got emotional
the sad truth is that truth hurts.
actually I'm cool with ppl who like the new joker. no really.
but if you call yourself a real joker fan, you gotta do some research.
you are free to like whatever you want. but instead, you ppl are just spreading hate online all the time, in this case on Jared's J version, which is uncool and you should stop. your opinion is underinformed. you can't censor/ dictate other ppl's opinions. that's just not how the world works. you gotta live and let live, dear. see?
but actually, some fans think your fav joker 2019 sucks, (he isn't really a joker/ is in fact never the best). I felt the response was somewhat eye-opening and necessary. you didn't do your homework in the dc universe, lol. so instead of spreading your bullshit, better get informed next time. you gotta deal with other opinions as well, than just deleting messages/ blocking... wtf grow up. just another fake dc fan right here.
hell, what an ignorant cry baby. lmao.
these ppl act like their J is the only J one should be allowed to like. damn, really this new generation seems to be toxic af...
oh my, why are most of the new joker fans so rude?
best female joker cosplay
one of the best female joker cosplay versions i've ever seen...!
thank you #hydraevil you're awesome! 🤩💖💕
...i seriously love her interpretation of the joker.

I don't own anything. i am just a fan.
Friendly reminder that...
Jared Leto's Joker: *exists, designed specifically to turn you on*
People:
Joaquin Phoenix's Joker: *also exists, precisely designed to disgust and scare the fuck out of you*
People:
Sorry I had to lololol
ok, to whoever wrote this shit or thinks it's funny, read on:
(possible rant/ spoilers warning): you should really go & check out zack snyder's new joker version. he's far better than now than that cringey designed one in suicide squad back then. (also a side note on that suicide squad movie in general: they put too much emphasis on the sexualized harley quinn, as in reality, she never was even that important to him/the plot. but right now, there's just a hype going on. so no, i didn't like that suicide squad movie, either. )
but joaquin phoenix's joker 2019 totally sucked. and here's why: he's just an old ass, whiney, mentally instable, ugly loser who shows off with his dance (well, like - the only thing he's capable of) and has some inaccurate face paint on. that's it... wow really, he's just a lame, fake, soulless, boring wannabe/ or try hard joker. i even went to cinema to try to understand the hype that was going on with that movie, but as a dc fan, it was just a total disappointment & rip off for me. because i came to realize a simple, tragic fact: he is not the joker.
i don't blame joaquin because i do like him as an actor somewhat. but that movie wasn't working for me, it was pure cringe with a lot of problems & major plot holes... for instance, he didn't even have the chemical bath, like what's even your damn problem, dude?! when was your 'bad day' to go insane?! why is his goddamn suit even red and not the iconic purple that he always wears... (like in every other movie/comic)?!... i don't really recognize him as the joker. why does he already become a clown leader with a cult of, like, 500 ready gotham clowns, when he only killed, like, 1 murray on tv and did basically NOTHING else to become the biggest gotham crime boss? ...in that dark business, where it should be quite hard to even rise to the top?
well, i don't even blame murray, when all this joker does is being a depressed, pathetic, overemotional crybaby-asswipe who, at some point, got butthurt by his family drama/ the society... but really, there's nothing funny or vivid about him. at this stage, i honestly wondered if he would end up being suicidal, before the plot could even start...which would, of course, be a contradiction and a big fail. but this joker, as well as this actor, got praised af for doing basically nothing at all! on top of that, in the end, one of his clowns even shoots bruce wayne's parents? wtf, that never happened...! and why in the world is he already, like, 50 years older than bruce wayne?! brothers?! lol, never.
in some timeline, it was indirectly even batman's fault by pushing joker into the chemicals, so he ironically created the joker, his own nemesis. which indicates, that an adult bruce wayne already existed at that point and he was fighting crime as his batman hero persona for a while, and that in a sense, before joker even existed!
so, bruce can not be that much younger than joker & it could have never been joker's clowns to shoot down bruce wayne's parents in the first place! they totally changed and messed up joker's past!! they're drastically confusing/ manipulating the timelines and downgrading the original plot as a whole.
in this case, their story won't work later on, when bruce grows up to be batman, because joker would already be too old to even fight him... all in all, it's ridiculous!
who even wrote this bullshit?! this illogical, incoherent timeline ruins and damages the dc universe on so many levels! omg that movie was like, one of the biggest cinema history fails i've seen in the last decade!!
and sadly, some clueless fans new into the fandom do really overrate it... i feel like some dude who didn't even knew a thing bout joker / the dc comics just wrote this crap, to only sell the famous title...
my fav joker was heath ledger's (2008). but actually, i also like zack snyder's justice league/ jared leto's joker of the knightmare scene quite a lot too, by now. they modernized joker without ruining his original personality and they stick to the roots of his concept, which is cool and iconic, i guess.
so, sorry to say but only to feel pity is not enough for a well written-character. joaquin's version failed the joker as an awkward introvert with only a forced smile. i mean you could say he's a tragic character and that you may or may not sympathize with him. depends on your personal view. but that aside - it's not the point here. he didn't fulfill his role/ joker's true character aspects as an extroverted laughably evil villain trope. really he didn't get one joke right or made me laugh even once during the entire movie...! well but that's always been the joker's job! even in medieval times as a jester, for example, which he was literally based on... they didn't even really study the joker's original personality. think about it:
Laughably Evil TV Trope:
The Joker is a sterling example of the trope. The trick in writing the Joker is to make his actions such that you can laugh one moment, and be horrified the next. Brilliantly brought out by many of the actors to portray him in other media, most prominently Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill, Heath Ledger and Brent Spiner. Whether it's electrocuting a gangster while singing showtunes, casually (and cheerfully) stalking an everyday accountant in the middle of rush-hour traffic, or doing a magic trick by making a pencil disappear, you can always find it either way with the Joker. Even Cesar Romero qualifies, although because the show was such high Camp, he focused more on the "laughable" than the "evil".
in case you need to do some further research, here:
Villains can be many things... magnificent, horrific, self-obsessed, philosophical and even sympathetic... but special attention goes to the
so yeah...here you have it. you really need to stop overrating that sad excuse of a clown cultist movie. maybe as any other movie, it would have been good, but as a movie based on DC, it failed it's title: the joker. because basically, it had nothing to do with the comic's most iconic super-villain.
joaquin's version is a fake, illogical, contradictory and most of all poorly researched insult to the joker fandom. he's just a wannabe joker who failed to portray joker's true personality and his fanfic-like story has so many plot holes, that arthur fleck should have never even existed. jared leto, on the other hand, should earn a lot more recognition or should i say the credits joaquin has stolen from him. because jared's actually the one doing an amazing job right now. yeah, imo jared leto's joker easily beats joaquin phoenix's joker, who never even was that great to begin with, lol. like, after heath ledger, jared leto was the one to carry on his legacy and brought the joker back to life again.
i do feel like everybody's blind af right now, or afraid to step outside the bullshit mainstream zone of the inapprociate arthur fleck-joker hype & or to even have a different opinion...
really folks, it's ok, use your own brains and do some research on the joker/ dc comics... (btw. you have like 81 years of canon resource materials), before you can form your own opinion, or even come up with your stupid repetitive jared leto shitstorms/ insults/ shitposts. you don't even seem to know how the original joker was like or should be like in his concept. thus, you set the wrong expectations, spreading your dumb, unnecessary hate.
you don't even know you're making fun of the wrong actor/joker, without even thinking. well, in truth, it should be the other way around. it's ironic. next time, before opening your bully mouth, you better do some damn research.
i'm so sick and tired of seeing crap like yours all over the internet.
really, you fake dc comics/ joker fans (of probably the younger generations) should be ashamed of yourself for praising that dull and wrong version of the joker the whole time.
it's just so annoying and embarrassing. go home.
do u ever think about how batman and the joker are literally soulmates and go fucking feral
Yes. Yes I damn well do.
oh yes. a lot of times, actually.
Rant warning now: BATJOKES RANTING
Random Fake Fan: EWWW! Why would you ship Batman and Joker? How could you even think it’s okay to ship brothers!
Me: listen here you dumb motherfucker, they are not brothers. Idrc who tf people ship but imma help you understand something right now about Batman and Joker. I know that you think your some big shot around here cause you tried to make the only personality trait you have be the fact that you’ve watch the 2019 Joker film but guess what, the rest of have watched it too. Oh yeah, we’ve watch it, watched the other Batman and Joker movies as well. We’ve even had the decency to read the comics and understand that there are multiple version of Batman and The Joker across multiple realities in the DC universe. There’s a version of Batman and The Joker where Thomas Wayne becomes Batman after Martha Wayne becomes The Joker over the grief and pain of losing their son, Bruce; who was the one who was shot and killed in that ally instead of them. There’s a version where The Jokers real name isn’t Arthur Fleck but instead it’s Jack Napier. There’s a version where Batman is the criminal and The Joker is the hero. There’s even a god damned lego version. Now back to the bullshit you’ve said; the 2019 Joker film never confirmed that they were brothers, it simply was insinuating that penny a broke young woman who was unfaithful multiple times and didn’t know who the father of Arthur was so she said it was the richest person she knew in an attempt to get cash. But let’s talk about the real problem with that version of Batjokes, Bruce is a literal child while Arthur is a grown ass man. No one is shipping brothers let alone a grown man with a child, your just a fake fan who said something stupid and now regrets opening their pathetic excuse of a communication tool. Maybe do your own damn research before opening you’re thin lined ugly ass mouth, sis, because now you just seem like a foolish bitch. The door is that way, btw.
roasted. i needed this, thanks lol 👌💪👍✨

So, as usual, I’ll be the bigger man. A truce, Bruce… As long as you have this card, a truce. But all you have to do is tear it in half and I’m happy to discuss with you in any way you like, why you sent a Boy Wonder… to do a man’s job?
love zack snyder's joker
jared leto's a true beauty 💖💕😍✨
...I have a crush on those 5 mins, damn it lol
seriously, after heath ledger (2008), he's one of the best jokers i've ever seen, imo!
