What Pokémon would you give Norah and/or Lui if you've seen UPP, I personally (as a very casual Pokémon enjoyer who did minimal research) would say maybe Phantump for Norah, or some sort of bunny based Pokémon like Whismur. For lui maybe something like litwick or Runerigus (or even Hatterene) I would explain my reasonings for all of them but I don't wanna spoil anything if you haven't seen it/seen all of it

ooh phantumps a good one especially after empty graves, but no, frankly im not going to give any of the upplings a ghost type yet (pd william will get one but. not yet okay)

im gonna tell you all of the upplings mons because i ignored an ask about isaac earlier in favor of rambling about gill

with norah as soon as i met her i looked that girl in her eyes and saw an eevee trainer, with all of her expectations and people pleasing and wanting to quit flute and play the guitar, that just screams eevee trainer (at least from the animes perspective) and i would say that if she did evolve it it would be a leafeon or silveon (shes nature lover and therian but i know she would pamper that baby to high hell) and to me those are the two most "bunny" eeveelutions (other than jolteon)

for lui, you actually had the right line haha i would give him a hatenna (i dont think these kids would have fully evolved mons) i have the mental image of it randomly (to him at least) getting sad right before the phone call in diseased residents

isaac would have a raboot because i feel like wherever he had lived before would have had *vaugely gestures* the... system????? for starters and he just feels like a scorbunny guy. also the way the galar starters have "angsty teen" middle evos can also be a part of isaac being a "bad kid" and aaaaaaaaaaa

upp will has an absol that has never actually warned them about any danger but its always following him around (isaac kinda thinks that its a cause but whenever he says that norah and lui jump to its defense you know normal absol stuff) it does get really agitated around the cliff though >:3

okay um i guess ill start with wonderlust since they have the least amount of explanation behind each mon

runt gets magearna because shes the smartest girl in the world and gods favorite thus im giving her the mythical automaton robot girl and a dedenne because im giving the street rats pika clones

blink gets a delibird (because he is one) and i may also give him and aeon both a litwick

wd gets a klink, a tinkatuff, and an eevee (perhaps evolving into a flareon to match its trainers... tendency for random combustion)

troy would have gotten the steriotypical start to a pokemon journey and thus a starter or "first partner pokemon" if you wanna be official with it and so (and it hurts me to say this) would have a charizard. if we want to set this fully in the pokemon world we could swap him being a steam sledder for ryhorn racing, giving him another addition to his team, and while there are a few pretty good goopy pokemon that we could substitute in for nyap i do think that it would be a grimer and oh god hes all gen one mons

aeon would have the previously mentioned litwick but hers would have probably evolved by now something something actually trying to make a difference versus just running from it. also a zoroark and a thievul who i kinda think are self explanatory

ripley would have been the original inventor of magearnas soul-heart tying in the pokemons lore to the plot of the campaign and also im going to give her a pikachu as a match to wds eevee
