(they/she) I am apparently on here just to post about new episodes of my podcasts. I'm a very big fan of many, many things, but generally, if it's for the neurodivergents or the queers, I'm familiar with it! I also post art on Instagram :)
Hello! I'm Phoenix (IRLs can use my real name in private conversations), and I got a Tumblr for myself as a birthday present. Under the cut, you can find a great deal about me and my interests, if you are so inclined!
As a general rule, I mostly only properly tag for spoilers (90% of my tags are me yapping), but anything with "phoenix original" is an original post made without reblogging someone else, "phoenix art" is my art, and "phoenix asks" are for me answering asks. Pretty simple, just for me to find it more easily later!
I am big into podcasts, so yes, The Magnus Archives/Protocol and Malevolent! In addition, I am in love with The Strange Case of Starship Iris and Life With LEO(h) (I am so insane about them). I've also finished The Bright Sessions (which dealt SIGNIFICANT emotional damage), The Penumbra Podcast (well. Juno Steel), Badlands Cola, and Deviser, all of which have altered me irreparably.
I've also listened to a fair bit of Archive 81, WTNV (I'm somewhere around ep 200..?), most of Camp Here & There, a couple seasons of Wolf 359, and a smidge of Stellar Firma. I've currently picked Sherlock & Co. back up and am having the time of my life with it!
I am consistently 2/3 of the way into any Three Main Medias diagram (WhoLock in SuperWhoLock, OurGood in OurGoodShadows), and I think it's part of my charm at this point. My watching projects become ecclectic based on my schedule. Latest top hits include Fosse/Verden (EXCELLENT) and 1995 Pride & Prejudice (a classic and long-time favorite), alongside Slow Horses (really good, and very few people I know have seen it).
I am also a Theater Kid, so I know far too many obscure musicals as well as most mainstream well-known ones. I am (naturally) a Hatchetfield fan, and my friend very easily got me on the Spies Are Forever train as well, but I am not very deep into the Starkid lore as a whole (for now...). Cinderella's Castle was awesome! Recent show I saw live: Hedwig and the Angry Inch (again! I cried, it was so good and so much) and Art (first time! very, very good, kind of a dream show to do with friends).
I do spend a LOT of time listening to music! Top hits: Saint Motel, IDK How, Sparkbird, Fish in a Birdcage, Waitress (the band, not the show). I enjoy musicals, anything with "alt" in front of it, and anything with a banger brass section. Please always feel free to drop me recommendations, I love trying new stuff! Even if it's something outside of my wheelhouse. I've apparently been getting into folk recently. Who knew?
Other neat things! I'm (undiagnosed but pretty confidently) ADHD and aroace. I'm told I'm probably autistic, but I'm trying not to think too hard about that. My gender at this point is mostly trying to look too male to be a lesbian, despite not really being either. My favorite animal is the axolotl. My favorite color is purple. My favorite punctuation mark is the beloved comma, oh, where would I be without you, my dear?
If I think of anything important to add, I'll edit this post, but here's the basics :)
Here’s the thing I feel like a lot of folks don’t get: I’m not trying to forget what you said. Honestly, I really tried not to. I can’t control what I do and don’t remember—forgetting things just happens. It’s annoying for you, I know, but for me it’s distressing as hell and when you make a big deal out of it rather than just reminding me you make me feel ashamed. I’ll remember that, at least.
It costs you nothing to be kind to people with memory problems. Please. It’s scary enough without people treating memory lapses as a personal failing.
Mine under the cut (in case anyone does not actually want to know this much about my experience of sexuality, which is fair). I got 3 bingos, though!
I've been using the aegosexual microlabel pretty much as long as I've identified as ace. This bingo is interesting because I don't think most people would get a blackout (there are kind of two main shapes of aego that are well represented here), but it's very easy to get a lot of bingos! I really like this one :)
For the first time ever, an anime is coming out for a manga I've already read, and while I've only seen a few eps of Witch Hat Atelier, I now understand why so many manga readers are insufferable in anime circles, because it is hilarious to see people only watching the show say "idk I think the brim hats are kind of awesome and who made the pointy hats the boss of everyone anyways" and then open the comments.
DID YOU KNOW that sometimes characters lie. out loud to others and internally to themselves, and it'll happen right there on the page. other times they are just flat out wrong and don't know it. oftentimes they don't ever find that out. a sizable portion of any story is decidedly not cold hard fact.
Was that not the last thing Aziraphale did? Correct his mistake? He responded a little late but it's a direct follow up to where Crowley left him after that first kiss, no? The choreography lines up perfectly, it's an answer to the question that Crowley asked at the end of season 2. And Crowley looked really, really happy with that answer.
i don't remember them playing mahjong but they do other old man things like going to the wet market together and drinking soup and taking walks. anyway go watch suk suk / twilight's kiss
i enter the shower. hours pass. i emerge from the shower, having mixed all of my soaps and scrubs and lotions and conditioners and shampoos and body washes together in the tub in precise alchemical quantities. i smell like 314 different herbs and spices. my hair will not need washing for the next 500 days. my skin has developed protective chitinous scales. i step out of the tub and immediately slip and fall on a stray puddle of mane 'n tail and sprain my pussy
