I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.

I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.

i feel like they're too worried about making the video version equally entertaining or giving people a reason to tune into both and like i get that but they really need to just record for longer then and cut the visual reliant parts out of the audio pod and have the video be a bit longer. they've done that for a couple of segments in the past so at least they're aware of it, but cmon guys please... why am i listening to you arm wrestle...

also i don't mind them showing photos i think that's fine but if the pics are important context to what they're talking about i think in addition to describing them they should post the pics on instagram. in general actually i think every episode should come with a scheduled instagram post of relevant photos so people who only listen can see them without having to watch the video, that's what like every other podcast i listen to does and it works great. and if not instagram then make it a free patreon thing, just make them available

I keep thinking about this moment because it was really sweet and unprompted. Catherine was so excited to be there and wanted so badly to do a good job (she did a GREAT job with maybe the hardest episode yet) and to get a little praise from someone with as much Dropout success as Ify? You can't buy an ego boost like that!

She also really IS good at Game Changer because there's no damn way I would've ever figured out the trick, let alone as fast as she did. Also the fact she instinctively just gave away everything she learned to help other constestants. I hope they bring her back for a less chaotic episode soon.

My personal headcanon for Ash Ketchum has always been that regardless of if his dream ever came true he'd never truly stop traveling and learning. Because despite "becoming a pokemon master" being his goal if you actually sit down and watch like Any episode of Pokemon the thing that always holds true is his curiosity and desire to learn everything he possibly can related to pokemon. And he'll try anything to! He did contests and the battle frontier. He'd do those silly little shows with Serena if they'd let him.

So I like to imagine him continuing on in life as this nomad who people don't automatically recognize as anyone important ya know? Just this goofy guy going from place to place always lending a helping hand and hes got a cute lil pikachu on him. And hes often lost somewhere with a friend just exploring the woods to see if he'll find anything cool. Ya know, as hes always been, but older now. And its only once hes drifted once more do you maybe stumble into an article on the pokeweb about him and are like... that guy??

Goodmorning to the Anthropic Claude AI training scraper that suddenly decided to request 660 thousand pages (exactly the number I had remaining on the starter plan) and brought Pikiwedia down. 

Sudden switch from diverse user agents like chrome, safari, messenger preview to Just Claudebot. I'm not even mad though, this is maybe the funniest thing possible, because I've inadvertently poisoned their training data with thousands of fucked up articles with normal urls. 

Pikiwedia perseveres, back up with a better robots.txt. I hope Anthropic has a gery vood time with Pikiwedia's data :))

Goddamit i hate this fucking post. I hate it because obviously if “twelve” followed the same pattern as the other teen numbers it wouldn’t be “twoteen” it would be “seconteen”. Think about it. It’s not “threeteen” it’s “thirteen” as in “third”. It’s not “fiveteen” it’s “fifteen” as in fifth. So with that in mind, you count “first, second, third, fourth, fifth,” and so on, so eleven would be “firsteen” and twelve would be “secondteen” or “seconteen”. “Firsteen, seconteen, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen….” It just drives me absolutely mad everytime i see this post that this obvious pattern was overlooked and i cant hold in my rage anymore.
