anyway idk if anybody here needs this reminder but: if you are disabled and have a professional caregiver, you do NOT need to feel bad for asking them to do the things that are part of their job description.

your needs are not too much. your needs are not too "gross". you are not too needy. and if your needs are literally more than a caregiver can handle, then the problem is that your case is understaffed, not that you need too much.

you do not owe your caregiver any more than what is in their contract and the common courtesy/respect that is owed to all people.

if your caregiver treats you like your needs are bad, or like you owe them, then that is wrong of them to do and is not okay. you deserve better.

and a message to other professional caregivers (though i REALLY hope anyone on my blog already knows this): you should never treat your clients like they are burdening you with their needs. you should not act like they owe you anything more than what is in your contract and the common courtesy/respect that is owed to all people. you should not envision yourself as an angel for doing this job. and if you want to complain about your job, make sure you're not doing it to your clients and making them feel like they are the problem, and keep in mind that the problem is capitalism and not the fact that these people have needs. if you can't do that, find a new job.

Found this beautiful guy in Southern New York State. ID'd as a Dobsonfly, though not sure what the further breakdown would be. Have lived here all my life and had never seen one before!

Big guy!! Yes it's a male eastern dobsonfly. No other dobsonflies in your area with these big snippers on males, although you do have some related fishflies in the same family. But they don't have huge silly jaws.
