I know intersex people are still getting excluded in a lot of LGBTQIA+ spaces (let alone wider society) and I think it's crucial to show this group is included in the statement that we all deserve equal rights.

keep thinking about how I wrote in my dissertation about how every time a new form of public/social space emerges it's immediately popular with kids and teenagers who see it as a chance at freedom and then adults colonise it and kick them out. this happened with malls in the 80s and diners in the 50s and pool halls in the 20s. my dad was doing research on this trend in like 1975. and I was like "yeah so this is going to happen to the internet" and then five years later every government suddenly decided to ban kids from everywhere online. I hate being right especially when I don't even get paid for it

I wish depression were an emergency. I wish someone could take one look at how sick I am and go “oh my god, we need to get you to a hospital!” and then when we get there I get rushed into surgery and the surgeons say “it’s a good thing you brought her here when you did, this is a seriously advanced case” and then they put me under and spend the next ten hours pulling metres of long, sticky black strands of gunk out of my body, throwing it immediately into an incinerator so that it can’t infect anyone else. And then they could stitch me back up and I could rest a few days, and when I leave the hospital everyone can see how much better I am and they congratulate me saying “well done, you’ve been so brave, I’m so glad you’re ok. I love you.”

This is one of the things I started noticing last year: the US media now describes people like Mangione as "the killer". Not accused of, he's the killer. He just has to go to trial to see if they'll punish him for it.

Nine days. They usually give this stuff months. I can't. I can't. I really just don't see the point in any kind of research anymore. It doesn't matter. Working as hard as I had to on a PhD feels like it was a giant waste of time.

Ironic that I went from the benefits of social media (that we're banning) to the mental health crisis (that we're "fixing" with AI) to autism (that the global superpower says is caused by paracetamol). I chose the 100% best areas to make a living in.

I'd say I should have chosen geology or some shit, but that's depressing too.
