possibly one of the most hilarious exchanges on doctor who
Honestly all the conversations between the Daleks and Cybermen in this episode were fucking gold
I know nothing about Doctor Who lore but I feel like the Cybermen and the Daleks are both the descendents of two exes who both designed robots.
You haven’t even seen the best one yet (or at least, it wasn’t in this reblog chain):
England isn't a real country, stupid. England is a lie to sell you more Doctor Who
Wales is real though, where else would they film Doctor Who
I’m working on a Theory of Scotland
i can't get over this. this is fucking killing me
9th doctor era was simply The Best One im sorry. shaved head leather jacket doc martins telling people to kill themselves. sweetie pea retail worker universal union organizer who became god for him. their stray cat horny little boytoy bottom who becomes an unkillable eldritch horror because of their love. did i mention the first guys a dilf and the other two have daddy issues.
this is it. the sacred text

The Golden Girls – 6.14: Sisters of the Bride
my corner store guy is a 50 year old man who's my best friend in the world and recently he was like "you're too pretty to be single I have some nephews you should meet. very handsome!" and I was like "a niece might be more up my alley" and he just got more excited and said "ah even better! I was overselling my nephews but my nieces are very beautiful"
OP the tags!!
What genre each DS9 character thinks the story is:
Sisko: A military drama
Dukat: Same as Sisko, but Dukat is the main character
Damar: Same as Dukat, but one of the characters (himself) goes through a redemption arc.
Kira: A "Revelations"-esque war between good and evil. She's lucky (or unlucky) to be the right hand of her people's Messiah.
Weyoun: Same as Kira, but replace Sisko with the Founders.
Worf: An epic poem (he literally says this is how he viewed the events of "The Best of Both Worlds", and I think he views the Dominion War the same way)
Dax: Same as Worf. Jadzia and Ezri view this genre differently.
Nog: A coming-of-age story.
Odo: A neo-noir crime drama
Bashir: A spy thriller (positive)
Garak: A spy thriller (negative)
O'Brien: A buddy cop film in which he is the old, cynical cop.
Quark: A fable about what happens when no one around you follows the Rules of Acquisition.
Eddington: Literally Les Miserable (Starfleet Academy is light on media literacy courses, so he thinks his terrorism and treachery is on the same level as Jean Valjean's noble struggle)
everyone on replies is terrified of this fact but i just think it's so sweet and heartwarming. she's holding our hand and leading us somewhere secret and we're both giggling like kids. i love her

Yeah quiet quitting is great and all but have you tried chaotic working?
Like. I remember back in my grocery store cashier days I did so much crazy shit.
When WIC (Women, infants, and children voucher program to help low income mothers/families with children) people were in my line I would pretty much know who they were. Before the cards they had to tell us upfront they were WIC and show us their vouchers for what they were allowed to get (it was awful some times. Like. 2 gallons of milk. $4 worth of vegetables etc etc). They’d always have items hanging back, waiting to see what the total was and if they would have to take it off the belt.
I began to place the fruits/vegetables a certain way on the register scale so that like 1/2lbs of grapes read as like .28lbs or something. Then act shocked when I said that they still had X amount of lbs left. They got all their fruit and vegetables.
I think it started to kinda? Catch on to the women? Because I would have the same moms in my line month after month. And even after they switched to the cards (they worked like food stamp cards?) I’d still do the same thing. They were able to get more produce for whatever shitty max amount Indiana gave them.
Anyways. Be chaotic. It’s more fun that way.
María Casares, from a letter to Albert Camus, featured in Correspondance, 1944-1959
am i the only one who doesn't really like how some star trek fans talk about gul dukat? i feel like a lot of people talk about him like some silly 'chaotic-evil' character who's just messing with sisko for fun. they completely miss everything the show taught us about him. he was a genocidal hateful xenophobe. he hated the bajoran people. he was disgusted by their existence and he wanted them dead. he was literally in charge of overseeing the occupation and genocide on bajor. he's not just a character with a 'questionable' past. he helped torture and kill bajoran people. him and his subordinates kidnapped women and used them as sex slaves on terok nor. he is a portrayal of pure fascist evil.
so like yeah, feels kinda weird when people push all that aside and talk about him like some lovable goofball.
He slept with the pope of the people he subjugated and tried to murder, in order to harness the power of the gods of said peoples.
