As some of y’all encouraged me to post this, here it is.
Hello and welcome to this series called “no one asked my opinion but I need to rant before I slap everyone on the face”
Today’s topic: why are some people in the jatp fandom SO DARN TOXIC????
But let me start over, with something so so stupid.
Charlie and his mustache. What’s up with it? Nothing, I’d say, it’s just a mustache there’s nothing wrong with it, but some ‘fans’ are having the audacity to cancel him because he ‘doesn’t look good anymore’. You know, as if it was a perfectly normal thing to cancel someone for their looks. (and it’s mind blowing it’s not the first time they bully this boy for something about his physical appearance??? Like what the hell).
Basically, these 'fans’ are saying that they liked Charlie because he is good looking. As if he isn’t an individual with a personality. He is kind, adorable, he is SO nice and does a whole lot for us fantoms, he’s sweet and talented and deserves the world. He doesn’t owe us anything, yet he gives us some quite amazing content and he’s always the cutest with us. But everything some people see is that he’s hot.
And you know what’s even funnier? That these people are the same people that post that they’re all for women’s emancipation, against rape culture, slut shaming and sharing articles about it, and are canceling Jer and Owen thrice a week cause they didn’t share every single petition existing on every topic.
I just don’t get why they’re so inconsistent with their opinion. As women, we don’t wanna be sexualized and objectified, but that is exactly what they are doing by canceling someone for their looks. And it’s not even called out cause he’s a man. But that’s not fine. At all.
And to be totally honest, it’s not good either to judge Owen and Jeremy if they are not sharing stuff about what recently happened. Jeremy is actively part of a lot of associations on various topics and he donates a lot to those, so if he for once is sharing that he’s excited for his song that is coming out, LET HIM DO IT!!! SAME FOR OWEN!! To own a platform doesn’t mean they are forced to spread the word about every single thing happening right now in the world.
I also wanna mention in this long ass rant post about the fact that y’all need to leave Madi alone. She’s her own lovely person and she’s not just someone that can give you content about Charlie or whatevs. Let’s love and appreciate queen Madi for being her, a talented teen who deserves as much appreciation as the other people in here. She works hard and deserves some recognizement.
And please, for the love of god, don’t spam the cast, their family or significant others. Ever. They will eventually like our posts, give us content and show us love. When they feel like it tho, not because we’re overly demanding. They’re already doing a lot. They could be like any other celebrity and give less than a fuck about us, but they don’t, and we should be grateful.
Let these guys breathe, they’re so nice and kind to us and deserve the same love back. Let’s make this fandom a safe place for everyone who wants to join it because of the beautiful messages this series spreads. Let’s be the good guys.
I’ve been in the fandom for almost two months and I don’t like how things are going recently. Of course, not every fan is like this, I’m just generalizing, but we can share we love these people in our own private place, and let them live their lives without hurting their feelings with our judgment. They’re young, and if you were in their place, I’m sure you’d be hurt too.
