Deadpool's weakness for children
(Trigger warnings for child abuse and pedophilia at the end)
Although almost an adult, a 17-year-old boy becomes Deadpool’s ward in Deadpool V2 #50-51
Deadpool misses a target who fatally shoots a man who asks Deadpool to take care of his son, and Deadpool agrees. The boy never believes that Deadpool wasn’t the one that killed his father and after Deadpool helps him seek revenge, gives him money, and a new start the boy repeatedly attempts to murder Deadpool.
Deadpool reenters the Weapon X program (Deadpool V2 #57–60) after they agreed to take away his disfigurement while under a series of injections only they can provide. After being sent on a mission where his team’s target was a young boy and being unable to save him Deadpool tries to quit the program, remaining only after he learns that the next target is Copycat.
In Deadpool V2 #68 a man hires Deadpool to kill a business rival after he believes that he might be behind a derogatory note about his child. Deadpool refuses to take the job based on a note and a hunch but the father implores Deadpool to meet his son and after a few minutes alone Deadpool agrees.
In the end Deadpool tries to convince the boy to go to a school for mutants
After attempting to be a “good guy” Deadpool is framed by a previous client in Deadpool V3 #32. The former client arranges for it to look as if Deadpool killed his entire family so that they could go on the run. Deadpool plans on killing the man until he sees his young daughter.
In an attempt to get himself killed, Deadpool antagonizes Hulk and accidentally leads the fight to a day care (Deadpool V3 #37–39)
Deadpool then switches priorities to move the children to safety but police forces think he’s taking the children hostage
Deadpool gets shot in the head before explanations can be made.
Deadpool obtains an evil twin in Deadpool V3 #45–49 who begins committing heinous crimes in Deadpool’s name. Because he is the antithesis of Deadpool, Deadpool decides to do something he would never do
Only, the evil Deadpool doesn’t take the bait to come out in the open and instead finds children of his own to actually torture
In the oneshot “Deadpool & Cable: two mutants and a baby” Deadpool is shown to have helped Cable right after Hope (the mutant Messiah) was born. Besides putting himself in the line of fire while Cable runs off with the baby, Deadpool’s main objective is to provide the necessaries to care for a baby.
There is even a time in Cable & Deadpool #16–18 where Deadpool has to deal with infant version of Cable himself
In the first arc of Uncanny X–Force the team’s first mission was to kill a new incarnation of Apocalypse before he starts doing the evil he’s infamous for but they find that he is still a child and are conflicted on whether to carry out the mission. Fantomex kills the child Apocalypse when it seems all but he is going to back out; after they return home Deadpool arranges for them to have a meeting.
After Deadpool leaves Wolverine announces that Deadpool is off the team but Warren tells him that Deadpool has been doing the work for free (presumably another one of his attempts at redemption) and he immediately backs down.
The dead child ends up being cloned and when Deadpool finds him he becomes a sort of surrogate father

One of the stories within the collection Deadpool #900 has Deadpool going to a therapist and admitting some of his self-loathing but as the story continues we find that he isn’t there for recovery, but to kill the therapist. The therapist had been raping and abusing one of his patients, a 16-year-old girl, and no one believed her until she committed suicide. Deadpool explains that he’s doing the hit pro bono.
Another short story comes from the collection Deadpool #1000 in which a young man hires Deadpool (with his bar mitzvah money) to kill his new step dad, which he does mercilessly after finding the man to be a pedophile
Within the same collection is an extremely short story in which Deadpool retrieves a little girl’s cat from a tree after listing his services on craigslist
In the holiday special Gwenpool Special #1 Deadpool teams up with both Hawkeyes to catch a purse snatcher but when Deadpool finds out the criminal was doing it to buy Christmas presents for his children he insists on buying all the gifts himself
everyone agrees that because of all the people he accosted he needs to be turned in but Deadpool makes up a story to tell his children so they think his dad is a hero
In the 2015 run of Deadpool he suddenly comes into a lot of money and uses it to not only fund the Avengers but to secretly do rescue missions for people who can’t, he hires mercenaries to do most of the charity work but the things that involve children he does himself
Deadpool also finds out he has a daughter he never knew about (sort of never knew about) and the whole story is heartbreaking and incredibly touching…but I’ll do a whole post on that soon!
