My weirdest tumblr phenomenon is that I keep accidentally following a statistically unlikely number of Finnish people.
It’s not even that I’m following them for things directly related to Finland either. A good few of them are comic artists. A couple are very good shit posters. One of them makes fake anime screenshots of furbies. They aren’t related at all.
Sometimes they have their nationality in their bio but usually I find out they’re Finnish from a random post. Hypothetically, even more of the people I’m following could be Finnish without my knowledge.
This is the country that has such a small population that the internet regularly jokes about it mathematically not existing. How does this keep happening. I’m in the double digits now.
If you are a Finnish artist on tumblr there is a disproportionately high chance I am already following you.
I can attest to the tags, this is actually factually true.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
@gibusnipu can you confirm?
yes. you gotta have at least one finnish person in your circles for it to be a real online circle
(half joke, half serious)
I mean if you don't, the circle is clearly not complete
It's obviously not Finnished

I was born a bitter old man who got his heart broken in Catalonia, 1936
Things haven’t felt right since
I gave up on life before I arrived
I knew this place wasn’t safe for anyone but fascists and republicans, and their apologists
In Finland we have this thing called Martat
this is a message to all babytrans. you may come across a subreddit or maybe even a 4chan board that is made up entirely of the most miserable trans people you’ve ever met. they have their own lingo borrowed straight from incel communities. but instead of being an incel where cishet men tell each other that women will never want to fuck them because of 2 mm of browbone, it’s trans women telling each other that they will never be a woman because of 2 mm of browbone. it’s trans men calling other trans men pooners for having a round face instead of a chiseled gigachad jawline. but they swear it’s not a toxic community because they’re all hiding under several layers of irony, so you can never really tell if someone is being serious. and it’s very important that you never visit these forums, even out of morbid curiosity
since this post is making rounds i feel like resharing this for no reason in particular

i want to explain to people- the lower bit is accurate you probably pay way more in taxes/rent then a medieval peasants well as have less time off of work
the loss of the audio jack is due to puritan culture hating on penetration
I remember one time I got INSANELY high off of edibles while playing Among Us, and it quickly became apparent to the other players online. I forget how honestly but literally anything "sus" I did was ignored by everyone because I was so fucking high. I tested this theory by standing in front of a body and the person that actually reported it didn't even mention me. The funniest part was when I was trying to do wires, I kept fucking up over and over again, so I was just standing in front of wires for actual minutes trying to figure it out. A small crowd of players gathered around me to watch and would get mad every time someone reported a body or emergency meeting because "she's never going to get her tasks done if you keep interrupting them." I don't think anyone cared about winning at that point, they just wanted to see the high crew mate succeed in her tasks.

gamecube was the best designed controller of all time exclusively for the button cluster that gave you easy thumb roll access to all buttons but also gave you the a button as a thumb rest (because it’s the one you press the most) and took into account the frequency with which each button gets pressed in its design rather than doing the stupid diamond design that gives no button priority and rests your thumb in the shitty blank space between buttons
The Diamond Button Layout Is The Bleeding Stump Where Form Cut Function’s Head Off
Also, the holes for the thumbsticks are octagon-shaped.
When you push a stick all the way to the edge, it will lock into one of these corners. This helps with stuff like walking in a perfectly straight line or steering all the way to one side, which is great for people who struggle with fine motor skills.
Like young kids, aka the target demographic for the gamecube, for example.
