“I remember an incident from my own childhood, when a very close friend of mine and I, we were walking down the street. We were discussing whether God existed. And she said he did not. And I said he did. But then she said she had proof. She said, ‘I had been praying for two years for blue eyes, and he never gave me any.’ So, I just remember turning around and looking at her. She was very, very Black. And she was very, very, very, very beautiful. How painful. Can you imagine that kind of pain? About that, about color? So, I wanted to say you know, this kind of racism hurts. This is not lynchings, and murders, and drownings. This is interior pain. So deep. For an 11 year-old girl to believe that if she only had some characteristic of the white world, she would be okay. [Black girls] surrendered completely to the master narrative. I mean the whole notion of what is ugliness, what is worthlessness. She got it from her family, she got it from school, she got it from the movies — she got it everywhere; it’s white male life. The master narrative is whatever ideological script that is being imposed by the people in authority on everybody else. The master fiction, history, it has a certain point of view. So, when these little girls see that the most prized gift that they can get at Christmastime is this little white doll, that’s the master narrative speaking: “This is beautiful. This is lovely, and you’re not it.”
Toni Morrison on what inspired her to write her first novel, The Bluest Eye.
if you call your girlfriend a bitch you gotta die I don’t make the rules
*any woman
saw this clip on twitter and girl i miss you so much
men think trying to become women will make them pretty because to men, ugly women dont exist. not because they believe all women are pretty but because ugly women are invisible to them
There's a woman on Tiktok who runs a cooking channel, but it's all "I'll cook for your man if you don't", "Your man wants me because I cook better", ect. So you'd think these dudes would love her, right?
They don't. Weirdly, the comments from dudes are really shitty. Telling her whatever she cooked isn't good enough, telling her to cook more next time, tactless criticism "Meh, more meat next time. Easy on the cheese. And get my beer."
It really shows that trying to cater to men only makes them lose all respect for you. They see tradwives and submissive women as defeated things, conquered enemies to be mocked and degraded.
Those women will never receive a thank you, and the men will instantly drop all fake decency and speak in the most demanding way, barking orders happily.
Tradwives actually do us all a favor by making men drop the mask, and revealing how nasty and cruel they turn towards women who serve them and please them.
im so sorry that you're doomed by the narrative but i really need you to answer my message on Microsoft Teams

hearing about sex as a kid is like “you’re 100% going to do this one day” and then you grow up and find out sex isn’t real and your parents just lied about it like santa clause
Preaching to the choir here, but feminism is not about gender equality it is about female liberation. Equality means to treat everyone the same, this does not overcome or defeat the centuries of female oppression. In the same way that disability accommodation mean that some people get extra time on tests, female liberation means there needs to be accommodations made to combat the systemic oppression faced by women
*torturing you* dude trust me, something really cool happens. you just have to reflect on it for a bit. i'm doing this because i want you to reach your full potential okay?
stop calling it a girl dinner and call it by its formal name: Fend For Yourself dinner in an ingredients household
no i don't think those characters are siblings i think they're friends. I don't think that's their mom I actually think she's their friend. I don't think they're related actually I think they're friends with each other.
"Trans women aren't hurting anyone."
Yet everything bio women say and do has to be pre-approved by them, if you say anything they don't like, even if it has zero to with trans people, if for some reason they think it's transhobic, they will do anything to bully and/or harass you. I'm tired of pretending this is a non-issue. I want to be nice and support everyone, but treating every woman you don't like, like a terf for no apparent reason, helps absolutely no one.
