Let me tell you why ace/aro exclusionism is hurtful
Let me explain why het aces and het aros should belong to LGBTQ+ community.
Because they are not the heterosexual heteroromantic norm.
Because they are told that they will find the one, the right person (why does it remind me of the saying “you just haven’t met the right man”?). Because they might even be forced to do something they don’t want to (some people are angry if the term corrective rape is not used relating to lesbians so I’m not gonna use it so they can focus on other things in here).
Because they are ignored. Because this ignorance and passive (sometimes active) hatred comes also from the people they thought would accept them.
Because they are somewhere in between of these two “communities” - the cis heterosexual heteroromantic and the non-cis/non-heterosexual/non-heteroromantic. They are “too weird” to be straight and “not queer enough” to be queer. Because they are alone.
Because being queer is not oppression olympic. Because we are supposed to be helping each other and be accepting. Because why be rude and hurtful when you can be nice?
Het aces and het aros also get shit for being who they are. From both cis straights and queers.
You don’t want straight people in your community? Well, there are trans people who are straight. Bi people with strong preference towards another gender than they are (the opposite if we are talking about binary genders) who may seem straight. But they belong, right?
So why not het aces and het aros?
If we all tried to be nicer, this world would be a lot more wonderful place. Just saying. So why not do it?
alright first off were not some place for ppl who “arent the norm”. saying shit like that is why we get pedophiles and kinksters claiming theyre lgbt.
on your second point, literally every single person on earth is told that, and a straight cis ace being told that doesnt hold the same weight as a gay person being told theyll find someone and be in a het relationship. these things just arent the same and in no way can be compared.
also if u wanna be heard,,u gotta speak up with your own voices. dont rely on us, this isnt our battle as gay and/or trans people. we dont want to have attention called to us, its not our fight.
also stop using straight trans people as a “gotcha” jfc like HONESTLY how do you not understand that gay/trans people started this movement! theres always been an intersect between gay and trans rights and frankly its so insulting to insinuate that straight trans ppl are the reason literal cisgendered heteros should be allowed into the community
also just gonna add that surprise! oppression dynamics exist! a trans woman, straight or not, is more oppressed than me, a trans man (though if straight, she would oppress me on the facet of my gayness). the idea that were all equally oppressed or what have you is ridiculous.
i just cant be nice anymore about this shit. its literally putting me and my trans/gay siblings in danger. i cant speak freely at my own gsa about being afraid of cishets without the fear of someone getting upset at me bc “straight aces could be in this room”. its fucking ridiculous and im not going to just passively sit there and watch the doors of my community be forced open to literal cishets.
literally just make your own damn community
