hi omg i love u so much for this, i feel like cady in mean girls when she was praying people would talk about regina so she could talk about her more.
(sorry for how long this is but evan is one of my buttons that if u push iâll just start babbling on and on and on about nonstop) also if anything makes no sense, english is not my mother tongue and iâm translating everything in my head (itâs a headache)
i feel like since the sibling bonds in the black family were destroyed, they all found comfort in their cousins. andromeda with sirius and narcissa with regulus are only natural pairings so whoâs left?? my pookies.
and i actually love the evan and bellatrix dynamic so much because it works with whatever marauders narrative. the canon truth that regulus barty and evan were death eaters and therefore evil, or that they were forced to be apart of their familyâs schemes, which also acts as a mitigating factor for bellatrixâs actions.
in my opinion, no matter the narrative, bellatrix and evan are morally gray characters, leaning towards a villainous behaviour. if one chooses to excuse evan from his stance as a death eater (usually also pardoning barty also) i donât see how that wouldnât also work with bellatrix. no doubt sheâs bonkers but why is the abuse she likely had suffered completely erased in order to paint her monotonously? say bellatrix was brainwashed, forced to marry rodolphus and gone crazy by the abuse she endured. wouldnât she be the perfect candidate for convincing evan that joining the death eaters is in fact the right choice? if heâs the only person that she cares about thatâs left i find it brialliant that she would manipulate him into going over to the dark side, since thatâs what she believes in and thatâs what she was raised to believe is the only way to go.
in a way they both wouldnât be nothing more than tools serving their parents wishes, but this dynamic could double as bellatrix taking care of someone whoâs willing to listen to her, and evan being actually taken care of for the first time in his life, finding a parental figure in bellatrix.
the same thing would work if both of them were forced to get the dark mark, she would assure him itâs for the best. that might actually work with the head canon some have that evan became a death eater in order to protect his siblings. maybe bellatrix became one to protect narcissa (though i am an avid believer in her complex, evil nature)
other than that, i think their psycho synthesis would be alike. obsessive, manipulative, batshit crazy. not to mention that they were both repressed (rosekiller and quill killer if you squint)their only difference would be bellatrixâs chaotic way of getting things done that contrasts evanâs meticulous and detail oriented approach. and thatâs what would make them such a powerful team in the death eater army, they compliment each other beautifully (thatâs literally her baby she raised him she went nuts after he was killed! and thatâs how barty and bellatrix friendship was born)
