Hudson interviewed at the Run n Gun Film Festival (via filmpicnic)
Ilya, recently moved to Ottawa and started with his new team is about to host his first Centaurs get together. He wouldn’t admit it to anyone because he’s got a reputation to uphold, but he’s a little bit nervous about it because he wants to make a good impression; he wants this team to work out. He’s here for the long run.
Super last minute he breaks some cooking tool or other that is essential for the dinner and he just panics. The cool and collected persona he was hiding behind falls apart, and suddenly there’s no thoughts in his brain. So he panic calls Shane, because surely Shane can fix this for him, “Shane it is an emergency! Where the fuck do you buy this last minute?”
Shane is bemused by the panic, and says to just get express shipping on Amazon like he usually does. “No I need it now, the guys will be over in an hour! What kind of host doesn’t have xyz, I will look like a fool, the guys will point and laugh. How will they respect me as their captain if I can’t even host?” He goes on his over dramatic shakespearean (not really but you know what I mean) monologue about being ridiculed by the team.
“Ok ok I get it. You need it now.” And Shane, being the canadian that he is, does not point out the existence of walmart and instead says “go to canadian tire.”
“TIRE? like on car? how will canadian tire help me for cooking?”
“It’s a store Ilya, they don’t just sell car stuff, they have a whole cooking section. They have a lot of stuff actually
And yes, all this was a set up for how Ilya discovered one of his new earthly delights: Frank products. He loves them. Because Ilya is a Dad through and through and he loves bad jokes and puns, and he especially loves indulging in them now that he speaks english well enough to understand/make them. And i’ll die on that hill.
the end.
when shane & ilya start taking pictures of each other i think ilya gets sooo mad at shane bc ilya is taking all of these gorgeous shots of shane basking in the sun on a rock in the lake & laughing while cooking with yuna & smiling in the car behind his sunglasses meanwhile shane is taking blurry pictures of ilya dead asleep with his mouth hanging open blowing a snot bubble & scratching his asscrack while making an omelette .
Hes trying to suck it

I can't believe this entore site is not talking about Widow's Bay. Nautical folk horror, it's stephen king it's midnight mass it's also somehow an office comedy. Stephen Root is there. What more could you want?
this feels like emotional torture

It's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true. The bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats. And we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies and everybody lives happily ever after.

“Williams’ victory feels especially well deserved because Shane Hollander is not an easy character to portray. As we wrote in our review of the series, Williams delivers “a masterclass in micro-expressions and physical restraint.” Shane spends much of the story fighting against himself, suppressing emotions he barely allows himself to acknowledge, and Williams manages to communicate entire emotional arcs through a glance, a tense jaw, or a slight shift in posture. Every crack in Shane’s carefully constructed armor lands with devastating impact because of the work Williams puts in throughout the series.
Seeing that performance recognized on one of Canada’s biggest stages feels incredibly rewarding. Williams’ win is also historic in its own right. At just 25 years old, he became the youngest performer ever to win Best Lead Performer, Drama, at the Canadian Screen Awards, accomplishing the feat on his very first nomination.”
