Justice for Renee, murdered by ICE.
It's not just to have a "do over" that doesn't involve the original cast, it's to cut them out of the royalties. Literally the entire point is to make sure all the money made by Harry Potter goes to transphobes or people willing to work with transphobes.
If you watch it, you are supporting bigotry, hate, and oppression. That's just objective reality. All for a story that you probably have already seen in movie and book form.
#the last point is especially true since the old cast receives royalties for anything with their likeness on it#meaning the original trio still gets money for every mug with their 14 year old faces on it#if they stop making those and replace them with the new cast which they will the old cast gets cut off completely#which is again exactly what rowling wants because she cannot stand those 'ungrateful brats' as she would likely put it#and as she has last say in anything that gets made in harry potter paraphernalia this might also explain the decrease in faces on products

I hate Rowling so much.
Likewise, the new all-star audio books featuring people like Keira Knightley, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Gomez, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and more, only seem to have happened because Stephen Fry - who did all the original audio books - said he thought she radicalised and "was a lost cause" (x)
Remember when someone referred to photos posted by Palestinians as "gore" that "they didn't want to see" and refused to acknowledge that these were being shared by Palestinians so they can show you firsthand what's happening to them and their children so that you, especially if you live in the US which is the most responsible for this genocide outside of Israel, do something about it?
Apparently Contrapoints is pushing the same narrative now. Disgusting. Never let anyone believe they're a good person when they prioritize their own comfort over ending a genocide.
I will never trust anyone who claims to care about human rights when they put feelings over lives.
I know no one comes to my blog for my political opinions but I have to talk about this.
I’ve been a fan of Natalie aka Contrapoints since 2019. I loved that woman: she was smart, she was funny, she taught me about my own issues with internalized transphobia and TERFs and all sorts of other interesting things.
I defended her when people were accusing her of being truscum because she wasn’t, she was dealing with her own internalized transphobia. This, however, is not that.
The TL;DR of this long ass statement is that Contrapoints says she’s pro Palestine but she finds the movement to be annoying and overly angry because God forbid people get angry about children being genocided by an apartheid state.
She then talks about how she sees no solution for this genocide other than nuclear war so she doesn’t think that looking for one is even worth trying which is insane.
She also talks about how anti Zionism and antisemitism aren’t the same thing BUT people on the Left are just too angry and also isn’t it their fault Trump won?
Here’s the thing: it’s not. Trump didn’t win because Kamala was pro Palestine he won because Kamala failed to use her momentum to actually show support for causes that are important to young voters like Palestine and instead doubled down on her Zionism. That’s why she lost. That’s why Zohran Mamdani has such a large base, because he’s campaigning on a platform made up of issues that young people actually care about like making public transit more affordable, freezing rent and not being a Zionist dick, not giving out loans to small businesses.
Contrapoints also argues that “not a single Palestinian life was saved” through the efforts of the pro Palestinian movement which is demonstrably false. Millions of dollars have been given directly to Palestinian people in aid because of the countless efforts of pro Palestinian people all around the world donating money to Save The Children, the pro Palestine creator fund, etc. Things are happening, change is happening, it’s just not happening fast enough for her to care.
This is fucked up and calling it fucked up is not a purity test, it’s reality. You don’t get to be pro Palestine and then turn around and say that the movement means nothing or that the people who have been defending Palestine with their lives aren’t considering Zionist’s feelings enough. Zionist feelings have been at the center of this for far too long and everything has been done to address them: from activists groups made up entirely of Jewish people who are directly opposed to Israel to countless explanations as to how Zionism and Judaism are not the same thing. But none of this is enough for Natalie who finds all of this terribly annoying and inconvenient for her.
The worst part is that it’s okay to wonder about Zionists and why they think the way they do. It’s okay to wonder about their humanity and try to think about a more peaceful solution. What’s not okay is to speak up after being quiet for two years just to say “Free Palestine BUT” and then complain that the movement is too angry for your liking. It harkens back to a time when Malcolm X was believed to be too angry, when Nelson Mandela was also believed to be too angry or too radical.
This is all to say that I’m incredibly disappointed in Contrapoint’s statement and I hope she can find it in her heart to care about Palestinian people just as much as she cares about herself.
And as always, free Palestine

So many people do not understand the relationship between climate change and cold weather.
If you see this post it is important to send it to someone else so they too can understand
People hardly ever change their minds in front of you...the conversation becomes one of a series of slow drips that builds up to a realization
I want you to remember:
The fascists hate you too and they just will pretend otherwise until after they've killed the rest of us, before they turn on you.
Thanks to whoever tried, but I knew they'd never allow it.
Let's do it the old fashioned way. Spread it far and wide.
Reminder: you can't be the whole wall against stopping fascism by yourself. Nobody can. But you damn sure can be a brick.
There's a lot of good comments and tags in the notes, but this one is very important, I feel like it deserves some emphasis.
Part of how authoritarianism works is telling you that you can't stop it. And you can't stop it by yourself. But it wants to stop the train of thought there and let you fall into despair.
You need to remember the next part: you don't have to stop it by yourself.
You're not alone. Take care of your community and let your community take care of you. Supporting each other is so vital.
btw now is the best time to keep boycotting. the israeli economy has never been weaker. don't stop the protests or the demands for divestment. keep supporting organisations like the Hind Rajab Foundation and the Accountability Archive. ofc don't stop boosting and donating to Palestinians as Gaza is still uninhabitable.
enjoy this moment but the work has not ended
can’t believe tiktok is actually getting banned, twitter is infested with bots and brainworm-infested musk bootlickers, facebook is king of QAnon, instagram caught the plague from facebook and is dying a slow death in real time… and as the dust settles… only Miss Tumblr is left standing… failing upwards once again

Can I be controversial for one sec
I do enjoy when fictional gay people are tormented by their sexualities and have internalized homophobia and are violent about it both with themselves + with others. I do love to see a bisexual self destructing because they don't accept their feelings. It's cathartic to ME.
#Don't get me wrong I'm glad that gay characters on TV can be shown to be happy. Huge W over the Hayes code.#However personally I enjoy a character that gay kisses someone and then self destructs about it @freedominthedarkmp3
I will be even more controversial by saying that the op's take shouldn't be controversial. Diverse queer stories should include the good the bad and the ugly of queer experiences, not just happy fluffy wholesome ones.
from The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, written by Israeli historian Ilan Pappé
This Christmas I am thinking about Palestinian Christians - who make up the oldest Christian community in the world.
Palestinian Christians, like Palestinians of other faiths, were also dispossessed of their homes and lands during the Nakba and experience the brutality of the occupation just as much as any other Palestinian does. Pilgrimages to occupied Palestine frequently ignore the entire existence of Palestinian Christians - who are routinely barred from visiting their own holy and ancestral sites.
Shireen Abu Akleh, an Al Jazeera reporter who was assassinated by Israel while covering an IOF raid on Jenin, was a Palestinian Christian. Edward Said, the author of Orientalism, was raised Christian from a Palestinian Christian family.
Palestine is not a Muslim cause, it’s not even an Arab cause, and it’s not a religious conflict - Free Palestine is a cause for all Palestinians against colonialism, including Palestinian Christians. Merry Christmas to Palestinian Christians.
