Walking with Dragons - A Project
Its what it says on the tin.
This is what the project of the last post and another a while back were about. A walking with dinosaurs-style blender made and animated documentary about fictional dragons.
Workin' on that thing again. Rendered this out and thought "wow that looks like trailcam footage"
these little guys are the 4 tonne, 2-3 year old children of a male lagatho, off-screen. Their father is 30 years and 25 tonnes.
here he is, also with the insanely low amount of samples
Okay so a friend of mine posted a picture of a harpy but the bird part is actually a Utahraptor and its like 90% raptor 10% human and I went ballistic. Say hi to Hickaw, he's a (newly) adult male 'harpyraptor', about 110 kilogrammes and 4'11" in height.
So-called 'demons' and 'devils'
A(n?) [insert name here] man with his wooden helmet and armour, bearing the look of a dragon and the real horns of one. They are called by the people of the north 'demons' and 'devils' for a few reasons. 1. They're different, their eyes are very, very dark. 2. They were one of the biggest rivals to the southern expansion of the northern nations (they lost, sadly) 3. Look at that helmet and tell me you WOULDN'T shit yourself if a man wearing that charged at you with a dragon-tooth-laden club Inspired by the art and armour of the Haida and Tlingit.

happy birthday mikue
we need more people drawing miku's twin tails as mobile and somewhat sentient (unless people do and I'm not getting it recommended to me)

New Food
The father has brought back a new food source from the river, as spring has slowly crept back into the Yixian formation, which means his many children - including our girl Yanna - will be receiving their first taste of crawdads. This will help them later in life, I am certain, just not now... Well, yes now, its feeding her, but shut up.
Jinzhou, China, 125 MYA. Featured species: Yutyrannus huali, Palaeocambrus licenti
Yanna's father 'catching' a Palaeocambarus licenti crayfish, a well preserved crayfish from the Yixian formation with several full body fossils. It is likely that young Yutyrannus huali would've eaten them, as their small size, protein content, and soft meat would allow them to get a nutritious meal from a relatively small target, the only issue would likely being catching the little water rats.
Also yes, in Yanna's baby view, the crawdad is miku'd. YOU CANNOT STOP ME.
Dr. Ruthel Abalone and Matthias 'Matty'
Just a cannibalistic kid and his weird abusive several hundred year old adoptive mother who discovered immortality but won't tell anyone
Character doodles
OCs of both my own and someone elses and just some random guy
Don't worry, I will (eventually) get back onto the yutyrannus story

Nest Raider
A scurry under the leaf litter... The young are confused, Yanna among them. This is no leaf crunching gently step of their parent, this is the hurried movements... Of a predator. From the nearest shrub, a large shadow appears, quickly snatching up one of the Yutyrannus chicks, crunching it's neck under its jaws before scurrying off as their father runs in to ward off the hairy beast...
Yanna will survive to see another day, however, one of her brothers will not.
Jinzhou, China, 125 MYA. Featured species: Yutyrannus huali, Repenomamus giganticus
Notes about the above image showing a more naturalistic portrayal of events: Repenomamus should not be this large. This is like 100% 'artistic licence' (me free handing this). If you want to make a naturalistic explanation, this could be an exceptionally large individual of several years in age that is highly skilled at nest raiding. I guess?
Cracks
The light is bedazzling, it overwhelms the senses... But the dilating irises affix to the brightness. The soft red and white word is replaced by one of many colours, red, grey, blue, green, purple... Surrounding the broken bloodied shell are many more ovaloids, uncracked yet moving... And above... A face. A soft face, a face first seen yet recognizable.
Jinzhou, China, 125 MYA. Featured species: Yutyrannus huali
Oh, and, for extra info: Our main character is female and will be named Yanna, as per the wheel of names
